That tray of grit you came across, its medicated grit for grouse to eat.. the land managers put it out in areas of moorland they use for grouse shooting.. they've been using the grouse butts along the path you went up from. It doesnt sit well with me, but thats what they do.

There’s quiet a few arrowheads and other flint tools found around the reservoirs around tintwistle and up on the moors in erosion patches. 👍

Thanks it is though, much better in Summer , but i will take a winter walk on a dry day over staying indoors

Cheers I found out by trial and error , I'd deffo taken a few wrong turns in the past , thought I'd share the safest route that worked out for me
