I know of a senior in high school who got an offer from TCU to play D1 women's volleyball in 2026 and when this ruling came down, TCU pulled their offer to her. Probably the most f'd up thing I've ever heard.
When you signed for a school, it’s not permanent. You can decide not to come so it’s equal both ways most likely they didn’t know if the player was going to commit and they offered it three times
@@nathanwORLEY-s4d incorrect. This high schooler committed to TCU at the conclusion of her Sophomore year. So when the NCAA capped future rosters, they took back her offer. The shitty part is after she got offered the scholarship, she stopped filming and the recruiting process. She lost over a year and a half.
I only had one school offer me a Scholarship and it was for football. I took it. Then I was a 1st round pick in baseball after my junior year of College.
The NCAA and State high school athletics association should not be able to tell kids where they can play athletics. If you can get into the school and make the team you should be able to play.
@@EliteSportsAdvisingESA in the old days yes but with all the money at stake there will never be competitive balance. At this point they are just hurting kids and families. You can only play 9 at a time.
I am not in favor of roster cuts! I think the experience of playing college athletics at a high level is a huge positive for student-athletes. However, I think your rationale is incorrect. You keep referencing "a promised roster spot" and "scholarship." As far as baseball goes, the 11.7 scholarship limit at the D1 level (I understand that is changing depending on the school/league) probably doesn't have a monetary effect on the bottom 6 players on the roster.
Meanwhile, the roster sizes at 900+ D2/D3 and NAIA universities are increasing....often at 50 to 60 players on a team, and many even having an additional 20+ players on a JV team. Who's gonna sue these schools for having too large of a roster?😂
They should have implemented it starting in 2026, to allow a grace period. Coaches could adjust their recruiting going forward, but those already committed would have some protection. Time is the bigger factor, not the action itself.
PART OF this change is Full Scholarships?!? now the best player with get recruited..Not the kid that can afford his half of tuition, room and board. Baseball will become competitive in the USA again
I want to sue and challenge that three strikes and out should be eight strikes.

I don't understand why courts would have a say on roster size. It's an arbitrary number. Why is one number better than another?

I get it but someone has to have some kind of governing authority to allow for competitive balance.

Will softball follow any baseball rule changes?
I doubt it. Softball is well funded and the roster is much much smaller.
