Well done mate. Only thing I would leave out is turning the engine over without the fuel pump fuse. It may reduce static pressure in the fuel line but also introduces air into the system. I've found that not much fuel ejects from the plastic coupling over the fuel pump cover when you remove it. Yes keep some rags handy.
bollocks design!!... no need for car companies to make it so complicated and fidgety just to change a filter.... but thank you very much for the tutorial, VERY insightful 🤩👍
Hey Adrian! Amazing you! I follow your steps and I could make it the only thing now the fuel gauge is not showing the right amount of fuel😓 we had half ta k and it was showing the reserve, then we fill it up and it’s showing half tank! What did I do wrong? Thanks🙏🏼
Thanks Adrian. Mine runs fine but never been changed so figured it was about time but never seen such a complicated fuel filter before! 270K and with a long trip planned I think it might be worth doing.
Hi Adrian, have and ideea if the T31 2.0 bensin, 141 hp from 2009 have the fuel filter located in the same place ? Cause some mechanics told me this tipe of car dosen`t even have a filter =) And I would like to go and change it by myself. Kind Regards!
Thanks for the great video Andrian. What is the exact spare part changed here - do you have by any chance the code? (as Nissan gave me the complete code of the pump parts).
hi there adrian D Found your video a great help but im in some trouble... i just replaced fuel filter on my xtrail but now when you turn ignition on i cant here the main priming noise come on before starting? just cranks but no fire? The small fuel pump connected to filter assembly still works. checked fuses all ok. Any ideas? could a relay have gone bad? Any help would be appreciated
That has to be the most outrageously pointlessly, and difficult place to put a fuel filter! I thought i had the heading wrong, and it was the pump you were replacing.... What ever happened to cutting the rubber type fuel line in an appropriate place under the car body, where the pump is then placed between the 2 ends of the fuel pipe, which are slid over the ends of the filter, and clamped down with 2 jubilee clips. Changed loads over the years, and never seen such a farce to just replace a filter. Having said all that, thanks for taking the time to video it, and upload it.
It definitely is alittle crazy, but once you get it, its deal-able. I guess car companies are getting smarter and smarter to make difficult for diy jobs. Glad u enjoyed it.
I think that's spot on Adrian. The more difficult for it is for "us" the more money to the dealer. I've changed numerous filters, and pumps over the years. But having somebody like you, who has the patience to video how it's done, is always invaluable info. So thanks a bunch! James.
Hey mate, maybe no performance improvements, but since thinking about it, the idling of the car was smoother and maybe it as slightly more responsive. Apparently aussie fuel sucks so it dosent hurt replacing fuel filter every 2yrs or so.
Hi Adrian! i have A Nissan X-trail T30 2.2 dci 4x4 and i am thinking of insulating it . do you have an idea how to to open the door covers(panels), i am thinking of starting with doors . i am not sure about the tools that i need and how to open it. if you know how can you make a tutorial, please?
+victor balan I can try, the interior panels are held by a few screws on the side and then the rest can be poped off easily but carefully with screwdriver. Then there probably would be a few more screws holding everything else together and at this point you should have access between the exterior panel and the inside interior. Do some extra research on the net, how to get access to inside door panel. Goodluck!
Thank you very much Adrian, by the way, I need to change the entire fuel pump assembly for my 2006 xtrail, 2.5liter Gasoline (qr25) engine, do you kow what is the part number or where can I get it? Thank you!
Cheers Adrian, I changed my filter a couple of years ago with your help. One question - does this filter have the return line? I can't remember which one I bought but I do recall it costing approx $70 so I assume it's the filter with the return line included. Thanks!
Yer change your fuel filter, when done, add a injector cleaner to your fuel. Then clean your air flow mass sensor with the correct cleaner and clean/replace your air filter. Hopefully this would help
Ha think I’ll give this a pass , those fuel filters actually look like they are not really a serviceable filter and are more than likely to run to the course of life of the fuel pump , also on the fuel pump itself there is a secondary filter that’s why I would say it’s actually not necessary unless your fuel pump craps itself , carefull of those locking tabs as I have had issues with them not quiet sealing before and have had to smack them harder and check for minor petrol leaks you should start the vehicle look that it’s sealed properly before that cover goes on
Ok - how many of us laughed at the f*** as the plastic thing fell in the tank. Felt that pain as that’s exactly what would have happened if I were doing it 😂
Legend, I was about to quit if not for your video, cheers to share your knowledge!!
Thanks a lot for the video. Its very difficult to find a professional mechanic to fix my T30, here in Brazil
Thanks for the video Adrian - I followed your instructions and got the job done.

Awesome saved me a heap of head scratching

Definitely. Cant remember how much it cost: around $60

Sorry im not sure about the 2L; is it diesel?
If petrol, id imagine the filter could be in same spot. Remove the seat and see if its same setup.
@@adriand3753Its petrol and yes I did found it , it is in the same spot :) your video really helped :D thank you.
Did you notice a difference in performance with a new filter? Thanks
Hi Adrian my Almera starts to jerk when hot and fine when it's cold changed the fuel pump.. could it be a clogged filter as I have not changed it.TIA
at 6:43. to disconnect, was there any other steps involved or did you just pull down on the piece to disconnect?
No, you just pull down. There might be a tab there to press, i cant remember but its pretty easy
Excellent video. Helped me through the process with ease hardest part was getting the baby seat out. Cheers.
Good job mate, thanks for the info.
My 2.5 T30 is on 280000km now and I don't think the fuel filter or pump has ever been changed. I would love to change both.
Congratulations you just got another sub
what year is this x trail mine has four pipres going into the pump
Hello
May I ask you what is the item in video around 12:20 that change to new fuel filter.
Thanks
White is filter, metal bit is the pump and the arm is the fuel level.
Thanks for your response.
I had already known there are two different fuel filter.😂
Good video.
Thanks.
Thanks I followed the video and now it is done. Nissan X trail t30 2002 auto.
Thanks
I sW in another yt video that there is another fuel filter under the rear passenger seats. Is that right?
Would the check engine light come on if fuel filter is an issue?
Maybe, im not sure, it didnt for me.
I just replaced because of the KMs on my car.
Cheers for that brother. Just got it done and success. :)
thanks for the video. Got the job done.

Hola do you know where is the relay of the pump gasoline at the xtrail 2004 engine 2.5
Sorry no idea; do some google research im sure youll find it.
Hey Adrian, great video mate. What was that at 16:05? It looked like a spark jumped out to halfway between your hand and the seatbelt clip!!
No shit, no idea, but hopefully not! Will disconnect the battery completely next time.
Good eyes mate!
JJ Rao, just gas pressure gas
Adrian, What are the o ring part numbers?
Hi. Is your x-trail a Canadian model? Mine is a 2006 with the same engine, so it should be the same procedure? Thanks
Its in Australia but Japanese made. Yes 2.5L
Very informative video, thanks.
At 18.59 the line drops into the tank, I assume its an air pressure line which now has fuel in it. I did the same thing.
Hi, change the filter (alternate), but now it is difficult to start cold and hot, before it did not happen with the previous filter
I same happened to me. Solution?
Dónde pudo adquirir el filtro de gasolina para la Xtrail 2002?
Que modelo es esa Nissan Xtrail?

Thanks from Brazil!( Xtrail Gx 2006 180cv)
Adrian D yes, Australan fuel is awful. Never seen a place where I've had to replace fuel filters do often.

Automatic Petrol?
+David Reeks If its petrol it definitely should be the same! Goodluck!
This is the same model T30 2000-2007 are you blind ??

What was the problem here?
Good job. I would just wait till it will barely run.
Thank you
Why do people say fuel filter replacement, when they mean fuel pump?
Not sure, but in this case the filter and pump are combined.
same same but different
I think fuel filter is close to the engine. This is just pump?
Nice work..
My Nissan x-trail not moving well even though the accelerator was pressded
Excellent Video. ¡Thank you very much for sharing!!
Does the diesel have a similar filter?
No deisil filter is on back of engine compartment on the right side...completly different from petrol engines...
Cheers Adrian,

Hi mate, im not sure.
I just had the filter part and show everything on video.

Car not accelerate even though i press the accelerator
Don't Smoke!
