- It’s been a hot topic around here lately … how to sell your book directly to a reader. Today Julie Broad of Book Launchers is sharing how to sell an e-book to a reader through StoryOrigin. We’ve previously shared some of the cool features of StoryOrigin like their robust beta reader tool and their newsletter swaps feature … but they are SO MUCH more than a beta reader tool and a way to do newsletter swaps! They have recently added a straightforward way for authors to sell their e-book to readers and this video walks you through the setup and the features available to you.

Happy First Day of Spring!💮 I do not need any convincing about selling direct to readers. My self-publishing author journey started 5+ years ago with me searching for ways to do just that! 🙂 Unfortunately, I didn't find a lot of online options, so I just sold copies of my first two books in person. I'm very happy to see that the tech is finally (beginning) to catch up with my desires as an author. I look forward to even more convenience with direct sales soon. There should be more choice with payment processors (hear ya about the plethora you need to sign up for ... phew!) and ease with selling both ebook and paperback/hardback copies on a single platform -- not to mention, (although I am), options that allow you to sell signed books and book bundles, for instance. It's a very exciting time.
It feels like spring!! And yes the tech is coming along beautifully for us now which is why I continue to promote the options and going wide so that more and more companies step up and provide support and services for us to use!! WOOHOO!!

I'm a little confused. You mention how to sell your ebook direct and say you have numerous processors etc., but when I click on a book on your website it goes to Amazon.
Right now I'm not selling my e-book direct ... my processors are for print books and our services. We help clients set it up to sell direct. It just hasn't been something we've focused on as I actually give it away for free.
