The song is a cover of an ancient viking song in the old Icelandic Eddas.
The original verse of the song is said to have been sung by Egil after his mother told him what it took to be a viking right after he killed his first man at the approximate age of 7.
The lead singer learned some Icelandic for the verse. The video was inspired by Assassin's creed: Valhalla, Alea plays the protagonist in the game 'Eivor', his opponent is his sister and the shaman is 'Valka' from the game.
Jörg a.k.a. Alea (the Lead Singer) is indeed in good shape. He works as a Kung Fu Master Teacher/Trainer in Kaiserslautern/Germany.

Short history fun fact - vikings didnt duell to the death. They did the Holmgang which was usually fought ona small island off the shore, with only the 2 fighters and an observer / judge till first blood. Doesnt mean people didnt sometimes die during these duells but that was not the intention.
In Pre Viking times there was a duell form, mostly in ancient germania, called Einvigi - that was to the death and the victor got all posessions oft he looser. However Einvigi became a "profession" as some idiots started travelling around, insulting people until challenged and make their income by duells to death so the viking society put a ban on that by 1) severly lowering the potential income (the victor basicly only was deemed right in whatever the conflict was about) and instead of to the death Holmgang was only fought until blood was drawn.
So Saltatio Mortis depicted this correctly
And men didn't fight women, certainly not from their own clan. I guess though this is based off AC Valhalla with Eivor and his sister.
If i remember correctly, depending on the severity of the reason for the holmgang (Holmgång in Swedish) some of them might be to the death.
@@Templarofsteel88 as said im not saying that death didnt occur during holmgang, but it was not the goal of it and duells to death weere outlawed in viking society because such duells often lead to bloody feuds between families. Doesnt mean it didnt happen but it was rare - as it was illegal

The Video is linked to the Game "Assassins Creed: Valhalla". Ich think both protagonists are both versions of the main Character "Eivor" whos gender isn't sure regarding to the fictional historical documentation (you can chose if you want to play male or female badass-viking, which doesn't really change anything gameplay-wise)
