- Here is how to set the clock on a Kenwood K DC car stereo. Setting the clock on your Kenwood car stereo is easy. Just press the volume button in, then turn the volume knob and choose clock, then push it in again, and then click and again to change the date by turning the volume knob, and do the same things for the hour and minutes. That is how to set the clock on a Kenwood KDC car stereo.

Short, sweet, and to the point. Thank you. It’s exhausting seeing 8 minute long videos that should be 1 minute.
You're welcome!
Thanks for taking the time to do this, man. Maybe it's me but finding how to do this and understanding the manual I are more difficult than breaking the German code.
You’re welcome. I think that manual is more than 100 pages long!
Pretty random and this comment will probably not be read by anyone however here we are 8:40 on a Tuesday and I was trying to figure out how to set my Kenwood clock. I came across your video. I just thought it was really funny that I was needing to set my clock at 8:40 on a Tuesday and you mentioned it being 8:40 on Tuesday. 😂😂😂
Thank you for getting right to the point.
Thanks g man helps a lot on my brothers phone!
Thanks! So easy once I had instructions!
You’re welcome
Hey I set the time up but it doesn’t work
If I set it for 8:36 and go back to the main screen the clock will stay on 12:00 and it doesn’t even change to 12:01.
How do I reset it to default settings? There is a button on the back but nothing happens if I press it. It says “reset”
Still can't display day of the week with the time. KDC 168U. This is a POS radio
Thank you 4 this video I bought a used 98 gtp it has a kdc-x304 stereo in it
You’re welcome
I have the KDC BT34. The date is on top and large while the time is small and under the date. Is there a way to switch that so the time is the larger type
Omg thank you so much!! It worked 😊
You’re welcome
Looks like an 05-07 impreza?
How well does the illumination match with the subaru dash/hvac lights?
Thinking of putting a kenwood excelon kdc x305 in mine
You can change the color of the lights, and it matches pretty good. I have mine set to green.
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Thanks for this. The owner's manual isn't much help, even if you have a magnifying glass to read it.
You’re welcome.
Hi! I have a KDC X399. Followed your vid & success until 3 minutes later & it defaulted to what time was previously.
Any suggestions?? Many Thanks.
That’s strange. It should stay, unless you disconnect the power to it. When you turn off the ignition, does the radio still have power? Maybe it’s connected to the wrong line.
I have the Same Fuckin' Problem!!!
Thank you, it worked. Do you know if we can change the colour on U393? Mine is red.
Yes. Go through the options and you will find one called color.
Trying to get that now radio won't come back on
What about AM/PM? mine thinks it's 4:50 AM when I want PM.
Add 12 hours.
Thank you👍
Welcome 👍
What if it keeps going to a different date after I change it?? Like I'll fix it. Than come back the next day, it's either on the same day as yesterday, or it jumps ahead a whole other day !
That's odd. I wonder if you're accidentally setting the clock while pushing other buttons.
Mine was doing the same, I turned off "Time Sync" and manually set the time and now it keeps the correct time and date. I was trying to figure out why it was doing that and found this video, saw your message and at least I know I'm not alone.
James well, thank God in not alone either. But, you said you turned off time sync to fix it? Is that some where in the function settings?
hoohoohoblin well..I don't think I am. I've been having this issue for about a week now, since getting. I tried to just set it again, yesterday as I watched you video..but, I don't know if it has corrected it self yet or not, once I get in my car today.
Morgan, I had to do this:
13-1. Clock setting
Press and hold the [AUDIO] button.
Enter the Function setting mode.
Use the [Control knob] to select "SETTINGS" > "CLOCK".
For how to use the [Control knob], refer to .
Use the [Control knob] to select a Clock setting item.
Display
Description
"TIME SYNC"
Synchronizes this unit's clock with the radio data system station's time data.
"ON" / "OFF"
(Colored text: Factory setting)
Use the [Control knob] to select a setting.
The previous item appears.
Exit the Function setting mode.
Press and hold the [6] button.
My issue is I have a KDC-BT368U and it will not display the clock when in use. Yeah when you put the unit in Standby, clock displays, but not when using any media device. I have two other Kenwoods, and they don't have this issue. Any ideas?
Mine has a DISP button, and when I push it once, it will show the clock at the bottom with the name of the song at the top, and if I push it again, it shows the name of the album where the clock used to be. Try pushing that button.
hoohoohoblin thanks! I was riding around with my new kdcx501 and couldn't figure out why I set the date and time 4 times but couldn't get it to show up.
@@blakec8916 same here & that shit is Nowhere to be found in the manual on how to use it that tiny DISP button did the trick👍
Thank you
You're welcome
It's easy to set up
How do you set the clock so it is visible all the time? I figured out how to set the time.
I don't know if that is possible because it has to show you what station you are on and what song is playing. It might be a display setting.
hoohoohoblin thank you.
Thank you for the info. There is a little button with a square that will change the display. Above is writing with the square and SCRL DISP
Thanks
You’re welcome
I got mine to work but it says am, but it's p.m. can't find that😂
What if I stand on the break and it still won't come out of park?
+Gottlieb Goltz there must be a sensor that locks it into gear if it doesn't sense the brake being down. Look for a sensor and check the connection and wires.
darn.......not first
Someday!
YeSir.2u...
Thanks!

Dude this doesn't work on a KDC-122U

Lifesaver
My clock and date changes everyday so how do I get that to stop? It's a kenwood kdc bt 365U and demo mode is off
I would guess that it’s wired to the ignition switch so it doesn’t get power and the car is turned off.
thanks for this!! just got my first jeep and the radio was set to 2014 haha
dad couldnt figure it out but now i did c;
Omg thank youu!!! Lol
I have been trying to set the clock for weeks 😂
Thx for the video. Had a hard time trying to navigate whst to do next. Appreciate the help. 👊
I wish mine could change color like that 😥

You’re welcome

Thanks man! Really simple but I just could not work the damn thing lmao.
You’re welcome
I have a similar model, I set the time and all, seems to be set as long as the key is in the ignition, when I remove it and put it on again the time comes to the default, the other settings are kept so I guess is not a problem of the memory being erased for the lack of electricity, time sync is off, so I guess the manual should work.. any advice?
You must’ve wired it to the ignition wire that only has power when the truck is turned on.
hoohoohoblin i got it, for my model (skoda fabia 1) the yellow and red cables had to be configured the opposite as i connected the first time. It was written in the instruction for some models of vw and audi. Now it works. Thanks for ur reply though!
kenwood kdc-bt368u how set just one color. i just want one to show
+unforgiven101inc Go into the display settings and look for the Color setting.

+Jan Welgemoed Here is the manual. manual.kenwood.com/files/B5A-0872-00.pdf
