I saw Todd 11 times between 1977 and 1984 .... saw him do this song may times, and was pleased almost every time. Once, he busted a guitar string on thi song, ended up slinging the guitar around to his back, and sang the rest of the song, clapping his hands to the standard time. But when the song was over, he was PISSED. He SPIKED that guitar over at the side of the stage -- he is the world's biggest perfectionist!!!
He actually prefered the sound of a Fender, he said they had more bite and cut through the mix better. He started using Mustangs in the mid 70's and used them until they were stolen in 1980.
on his website (which he made!) it says somehting (not exact) like 'being a guitar player is a lot like being a wild west gunslinger.. ...everyone is trying to cut you' so true!
BENEFIT FOR INDOCHINESE REFUGEES/ The manner in which we treat the least of us is the measure of us. all of the consequential audio gifts aside, the song is in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time, and for-the-right-reason here. 4 artists, Generosity needs no logrolling.

He's just the greatest. I always listen to this song when I need a lift.
My favorite Todd song.
Yup
Todd doesn't write 'em like this anymore! (a true shame...)
Todd is like family to all his fans ... Love.
Todd on his Fender Mustang that got stolen actually. Playing one of his best songs. The chord progression on this is ridiculous.
OMG Just saw him and Daryl last week in Seattle and now Foamy is MIA. That just SUCKS.
Love this cranked-up-tempo version. For this tune, the faster, the better.
Nah man Cleveland is still the best. Let's fight over it LOL :)
What an excellent, underrated (as always, with Todd) song. it was far better, and easier, to listen to than most of the pop crap out at the time.
And of the best incarnation of utopia
Saw him play a show a few weeks ago and the new stuff really kicked-ass. Great stuff old and new.

Definitely another one for my Favorites !!

so true!
Wow! I'm seeing this for the first time. I honestly don't remember Kasim's "Fro Phase", or perm..?? It's hi-larious which ever.
It's not Kasim, its John Siegler...probably somewhere 1974 or 5. In between Utopia version 1 and 2. I believe Kasim joined in 76.
Todd really looks wasted about 0:45-0:47 ... bu, still --- one of my three or four fave Todd songs of all time.
nice to help out down and out people!

Todd just may be God!
Wow, that's with John Siegler on base...1974 or 75?
Live in Japan?
Anyone know what year this was?
first time I've seen him play a Fender...
90% of the vids I've seen he always plays a Gibson....
His Black Fender Mustang Era. He used it throughout the late 70's- 80's.
