03:53 and 04:38 - I find stuff like that really interesting; you can see it's either a painted or a photographic backdrop which is really meant to be the outside world.
EastEnders production is still based at BBC Elstree in Borehamwood Hertfordshire, all the interiors are filmed on sets there whilst the exteriors of Albert Square is a permanent set built in 1984 on a studio car park which was used as a building site for the ITV series Auf Wiedershen Pet. It is now a closed set and not open to the public.
Hi. I filmed this video on my dads Hi8 camera while on the Elstree Open Day in 1991 and I feature at the end with my friends Robin and Jenny. Where did you get this video from?
This is definitely before 1995, this must be 1990/1991 or 1992 if that because the Queen Vic is yellow and green (it went red in the latter part of 1992) and Julie's half salon is still standing yet unused but was still seen on screen in 1991 when she left in 1990.
They've definitely never done an open day at Elstree since 1994; I thought that was the only one they ever did, but now you point out about the Vic being green and yellow, it seems they may have held some open days before '94. This is an extremely rare occurrence though as Elstree is a thoroughly closed studio complex.
It was done once in 1994 and has never been done since (I am 99% sure this video is from 1994 because that's the only time Elstree ever opened its doors to the public. It's a closed studios with no tours.)
I once went on an open day to interior and exterior sets, but didn’t see the Queen Vic, as not open to the public for some reason, a bit aloof a let down 20 of years ago.

Interesting, how often did they have these open days? Were they still doing them pre-Covid?
