Thanks for your interest in the Dala horse! It's true that the originals from Sweden are hand carved. The Dala that are created here in Little Sweden are just a bit different variety. The Hemslojd also carries the Swedish version, which typically have four legs while this version has two. So great that the traditions are carried on, though with a twist, here today.
We love our Dala Horses from here. We’ve purchased one for each of our grown childrens’ homes too. They make great gifts.
