Q: What is the program you use for organizing and sorting your references?
A: I use PureRef, which is totally free to use and a godsend when working, no matter what digital art program you prefer! www.pureref.com
I watch all of your stuff obviously, but I came back as I do with all your videos and 21:07 art restorers? 😆
Hahah yep! Sometimes it's hard to remember exact terms in the midst of recording LOL
Is there a video on when you created the thumbnail art? Id be very interested to watch that
Sadly not for this one, but when I get a chance, I plan on doing some more in this style, then making a tutorial about it!
I came from digital sculpting, I have been dabbling into painting. I found your channel fenomenal. Will you ever make them available for Rebelle?
Thank you so much! I'm actually working a bit right now on a Rebelle brushpack, but it should be out a little later this year I hope! I want to make sure the brushes really *feel* great, and since the default brushes already feel great, I need to make sure they co-exist with the defaults well.
@@ArtOfWesGardner I haven’t thinker with the brush creator. But, is there a way to have random stokes and multiple colored strokes as in photoshop? Cuz actually I was thinking to use your pack as a base, then take it into Rebelle?
You pretty much described me to a T Wes. Multimedia artist. Strongly dabbled in oils, sculpture, digital art now. Your eye vs ability explanation, repeat the process made me happy that I am forging on the right path. Thanks, I enjoy your creativity and honesty very much. Don't change.
Thank you so much, Cliff, I appreciate you! The journey is a VERY long one, but well worth it (which I often have to remind myself of, LOL)!
Great textures, thanks
Enjoy!!
just got all of your brushes! incredibly excited to try them out, just discovered your channel and ive found your videos really interesting, thank u!!
Thank you so much, I appreciate you very much! Welcome to the channel, we're happy to have you aboard!
I don't want to worry you about children Wes but our 30 year son still lives at home, but no problem.
Ha, I bet parts of that are great though! I mean, I'm excited to move past the "one is a toddler and one is an infant" stage (and my sleep schedule is excited for that as well), but I bet as the ages go up, so do the weird one-offs and other stressors. Fun stuff all around, parenthood is!
I just wished I would had some person like you in my life as an mentor when I started my art journey after my burnout from teachers job. Its been 9 years now and I am currently working as an concept and lever artist for a game company. I love it so much more than packed noisy classrooms.
Love the painterly style, already have your earlier pack and probably will buy this one also. I started my art career by painting pet portraits in oils. Only painted cats for the first 2-3 years :D
Pet Portraits are a GREAT moneymaker, and a great way to get used to materials as well! A ton of my art buds started with pet commissions too!
Appreciate you tons, brother! My wife's a teacher currently, and let me just be the first to thank you for your service. You all deserve six-figures salaries at the VERY least, ha! I'm jealous of the concept/level artist gig, that sounds incredible. Making playable spaces to "live in" has always been a bucket list item of mine!
All the credit to your wife for teaching. Its really demanding job. But also credit to you. Its very demanding to make it as an artist also! It was easier to get a degree and get paid for teaching than it was to get the skills necessary to get paid well by painting.
I am new to digitial art (the last two days) trying to spend time doing very simple basic things to get used to it and to see how everything works. Its alot to take in and work out, plus I havent done much in a long time but I am enjoying it. Videos showing how people do things helps :-)
Welcome, it's a super fulfilling hobby! Let us know if you have any questions, we're all happy to help!
@@ArtOfWesGardner Thank you :-) I will check out your videos and will ask anything if I can think of it so thank you :-)
