I absolutely love this camera. I just had to send it to repair under warranty cause the screen started separating from the articulating piece. Very odd but glad support stepped in and it is being repaired already.
People keep asking to compare to A7Cii (which is a more expensive camera in the U.K. at least). Quite simply are you photo driven or video driven? The ZVE1 is primarily a video camera albeit if you take stills mainly for screens and not printing, it produces excellent photos as well. The A7Cii is a better photo camera, has more megapixels and a small viewfinder. The spec sheet for video on the A7ciii looks similar for video but it isn’t. It actually has slightly sharper 4k24 or 30 fps because of downsampling but can only shoot 4k 60 with a crop and if you want 4k 120 for proper slow motion it can only film this in APSC cropped mode. It also has quite bad rolling shutter (jello on pans) and is nowhere near as good as the ZVE1 in low light. This is because the higher megapixel sensor which is good for photos is not as good really for video as it is slower to ‘read out’ the information and the megapixels are smaller and more compact so do not capture as much light. So if you do mainly video but also like to do photos you will not be printing out in large format think about the ZVE1, if video and photos are equally as important or you lean toward photos think maybe A7Cii.
Can't decide between the ZV-e1 and A7c. Would love your two cents which you'd pick. The A7c was also marketed as a great entry-level full-frame camera that's light so you can vlog with it, AND currently the A7c is $400 cheaper than the ZV-e1.
I have the a7c I would recommend getting the e1 because it shoots 10foot color and if you like to color grade its a lot better with 10 but you avoid the color banding.
Finally a UA-camr I can trust. Yes, the content was fabulous and straight to the point, but I stuck around mostly because you're rocking a Rootbeer on the wrist. Hell yes. Excellent taste.
Is there a lens you would recommend ? I am a Realtor and shoot a lot of talking head, vlogging, and hand held style videos. I don't shoot a lot of homes though. If I do it is not meant to replace a professional videographer.

Could the video be lost if there is a card error and you don't have a copy? Do you recommend this camera for professional photography? Hello, did you get any overheating issue with the Sony Alpha ZV-E1 when you tested it? I'd like to purchase it but I'm living in a tropical area and I'm a bit worried about that.
I got this camera and a 20mm 1.8 lens, I really regret I haven't gotten it earlier!! Such a great investment, I love it. I've been carrying Canon 7GX for 6 years and this is an upgrade, for sure. Only thing is I'm not super impressed with the in-camera mic, external ones and wireless are still way better, but overall - satisfied. The size is perfect. The lens is huge tho, but that was my choice :D I have a vlog from London shot entirely on it, check it out :)
Why don't Sony release firmware upgrades for older A7 modes that allow 10bit? It requires less processing and the limit was SD cards which isn''t a problem these days

Omar, that camera is a BIG chunk of change for someone just starting out. Instead, if you're heart is set in getting camera like this, I'd prefer a Sony ZV-E10 for more than half off and that does just as good of a job, IMO, until you've established yourself a bit and money isn't as big of a concern.
Good advice, also to get the most out of this camera, it is better to be more advanced in videography. Learn on an APSC which is a third the price, then you can trade up.
Gréât caméra for content creators 🤤🤤 4K60, 4K120 🙌🏽. It’s so clean, and I’m so glad I made a move on it. I live in Phoenix AZ 🥵🥵 and haven’t had any over heating issues (I’m not like shooting for hours though). My only issue has been with the digital shutter 😔. You get a black streak with photos in some lighting situations.

I'm puzzled about why I received a strike on my Shorts video when UA-cam allows creators to use music from the Shorts audio library. Despite reaching out to UA-cam support and appealing the strike, they repeatedly reject my appeals, claiming it's unclear whether I have the rights to counter the claim. This issue is concerning, as UA-cam itself permits the use of this music. Can someone provide guidance or insight into this situation? It's a problem that doesn't seem to be getting addressed. Sir can you help because my counter notification got rejected everytime
RECORD TIME LIMIT ? im sick of my G7X mark 3 because it only records in 30 minute increments. this camera sounds perfect for me but i need an unlimited record time
The biggest problem with this camera is not the camera. Most of Sony lenses are big and heavy, for example the GMaster 16-35 weighs twice as much as the camera itself, which defeats the purpose of the camera, small lightweight full frame. The alternative is one of the few smaller lenses but then you are locked into one focal length or carry around a few lenses. After a lot of research on this camera, I think buying one does not make sense.
@cedricol IDK what you're running but I've been really looking at the 6700 as it's a hybrid with cheaper lenses while containing high end Sony features for 1400$.👀🔥
@@OTG1776 I'm currently running an older Canon EOS 750D (I think you call it Rebel T6i in the US). So, as you can imagine, I'm quite invested in their EF-S lenses. But I want to step things up, so I'm looking into mirrorless full frame, and 4K or above. Sony seems to be the new king in that area. Canon doesn't seem to offer what I need anymore unless I go into another set of lenses anyway, so I'm free of switching brand/ecosystem. Loyalty to a manufacturer is a very strange feeling I've never had nor understood.
@@cedricol The RV or AIV might be your go to for full frame then. The 61 MP vs a 33 Megapixel censor. I'm entry level and the APSC censors fit my needs for the time. Also trying to get away from EF lenses had I known they weren't as common or diverse I probably would've went with Sony from the Jump instead of my Black Magic 6K Pro.
@@OTG1776 I looked into Black Magic cameras last year, but they seem to be meant to be worked by a dedicated camera operator, and therefore lack autofocus. And that's a deal breaker for me. I need a great autofocus. Thanks for your recommendations, I will definitely look into those.

Video can only work when the camera is cool enough which is why many people are wondering about the A7CII for longer clips

Got one recently as a back up cam to my FX3 and in some ways the ZV-E1 is better. Dynamic active steady shot is pretty sick.
I also shoot in fx3 and need a b cam. Thinking this vs either a7iv or a7c2.
My concern is overheating.
its over heated on me once but I was shooting outside in 90 degrees after shooting indoors for 30 minutes

How long max you can record with zve1 without overheating? A lot of people complein that it lasts about 30min with 4k 25frames
