Hi Derek, avid watcher of the channel, and due to this when the wife decided she wanted anEV I wasn’t as reluctant as I thought, so last week we purchased an ID4 GTX to replace our Tiguan 4 motion and I must admit it’s an absolute pleasure to drive , even doing a 900 klm round trip and sightseeing to see our daughter the charging aspect was grand, meeting other Ev owners at charging points around the country was a insight into the lack of infrastructure the government and utilities have in place and the mind blowing discrepancy in charges , esb € 0.64 cent per klw is extortionate, but we did 950 klm s to €65 which is pretty good at those prices, thanks again , for the channel it really does help us sceptics

The cost of this is mind blowing. Way beyond me. And not far off the dream electric car, taycan cross tourismo.
Price probably in line with other premium marques

Ride was good actually.
Big difference in price. Value would be the Soltera.
Traded in a 320D for an ix1M sport 3 months ago and am very pleased with it. I like my extras, eg. head up display, harmon kardon sound system. Never considered a Tesla as I think they are very bland and their build quality and suspension are questionable although I do accept their battery management system is second to none. My only complaint of the ix1 is the storage pockets. It is difficult to get objects out due to the placement of the armrests. You have to twist your hand at an awkward angle to reach things in the pockets.
Great to hear from an owner and agree that Tesla is not for everyone. Good point in the pocket/storage but overall you're happy
Noticed when you were reading the spec/price sheet, did BMW actually call the exterior mirrors “wing mirrors” … what is it with people now referring to door mirrors as wing mirrors?? Maybe they never used, or even saw, actual wing mirrors - the ones mounted on the wings. Which I used love. These ones are mounted on the door - so, door mirrors!!! Good overall review of a car (or brand) I’ll never drive! Staying with the Koreans for the moment .
I'll need to go back and see the wing mirror. Door mirrors are correct.
Whats with the thunderbirds-esque hand cut away?? (For the charging)
Sorry! I usually gather my own b roll but missed the charger one so used some BMW footage. It was super fast so I had to slow it down 50%
Hi Derek - love the reviews, you’ve a very down to earth style, and know your stuff! One question, how would you say the iX1 compared with the Q4? I have a co car offer in the UK, and the BMW is about 15% cheaper .. but think I’d prefer the Q4 as coming up from a Q3! Is it worth it??
Tough choice. More space in the Q4 in the rear. Have you taken both for a test drive yet? I'd probably lean towards the Audi but both are great cars. The BMW feels a bit more premium
Thanks Derek - I’ve done the Q4 but not the BMW. Tbh I think I like the look of it more, esp now there are more affordable Quattro versions. I’ll make life simpler and go with what my gut (and your reviews) are telling me, the Audi is the one!

what about voice commands e.g. activate seat heating ? or take me home on the navigation system, or the AC on/off ?

I know for a fact that even the BMW sales personell are getting worried with the level of pricing when each of these new models are released.
So........€72k for their baby SUV.......bonkers.

There’s another package for the electric seats on the ix1. To get clear that there is an option, not included in the car of the video.

If this was a successor for thr i3 in its own platform i would say this is enough car for anyone and for 10-20k less would think its perfect, but 70k for compromised platform makes me look at the koreans and save the money,.maybe i should buy some leather n glue it on the cheaper kia interior when it arrives with thr Money I saved. This car is probably 15 years behind where it should be in packaging 🤯

Pros: looks good, nice build quality, decent range, good space, comfortable
Cons: manual seats, a tunnel (really!) the price, pricing cost!
It’s a nicer looking Kia eNiro for almost 30k more

Youll hear lits of bleeps and bloops from me at that price for an x1, i suppose now its probably roomier than a 90s 5 series but no, too many brands planned their offerings and don't have enough flexibility to react to a market in recession, who's going to buy this??

Hi, it looks like a poopy lump of black plastic. Never be able to afford it but a hard no. Rather have something else.
Worse in other colours, the nastiness of that grill shines through more when you can see it

Unfortunately Teslas are not good. They are empty baron inside with bad build quality.
