- Had a blast on the weekend with my old Suzuki GS500! I was about to ride one of my favorite roads when i saw a Kawasaki Z1000 appear in my mirrors. I turned on my gopro and let him pass, because we all know - chasing is way more fun! It's always nice for me to see that this small and old bike can keep up with the big ones, at least when there are enough curves!
Hope you enjoy the video, if you like leave a comment or subscribe :)

I love the way those old cable driven tachs and speedos sway back and forth. Can't wait to get mine running good and ride it.
Same here man, it's really nice to watch, good old retro style 😁 good luck with it and ride safe
Its funny how you can see how at ease you are on the gse500 it really looks like you have wayy more experience than the kawasaki rider, he looks way stiffer
Cheers man, possibly true i don't know him, but the gs500 is also easier to handle i guess 😁
The gs500 does handle a lot better than one would expect tho.
I was genuinly surprised at mine, on the twistier roads, i had no issue outpacing the 600 sportsbikes on mine.
As soon as the corners got faster i list obviously but, still.
Its a really good lil bike.
Bro, he looks way stiffer because he drives first. He needs to look around corners, maybe another car is coming ahead cutting corners...
The ZX rider is essentially putting the same amount of effort around the corners as the GS rider is. The little GS takes little effort to whip around corners where the big ZX takes a lot of shifting your body weight/leaning/knee dragging to corner with speed. It just looks like the ZX rider is out for a simple cruise while punching it now and then on the strait away's. I've owned both bikes and going fast on the ZX was a workout wile going fast on the GS was effortless
Awesome video as always! 🍻 That Kawasaki is so fast on the straights, but in the bends the light Suzuki seem to have the upper hand. Stay safe my friend 👊
Thanks a lot man! True story, for a small and curvy road the Suzuki is the better choice i think. You too!👊
Nice ride! I enjoyed every minute of it! Love your GS 500.
Thanks
Thanks a lot my friend, appreciate that!🙏✌
Great to see that GS keeping up with the big boys on the twisties.....a very good pilot on the GS !
Thanks man!
@@seemerollin675 do you recommend a GS 500? I ride a '72 Nuovo Falcone 500 and a '71 Bmw 75/5, but at 67 yo I would something less heavy and with BRAKES...Thanks in advance and congratulation for this post
@@gianmasini the gs500 is quite "light" and very easy to handle...so I would recommend it 👍 have a test ride if you can :) the breaks are unfortunately not the best aswell, but they do the job 👍
He is an ok driver. This is not how you drive a gs500e from before or after 1995 (the gs had 52 hp before, i had the 1993). It has no cooling system, but is very reliable. I know that this bike is from about 2001-2005. But he is screaming the engine with 9000-11000rpm. And not more rp is infact better in corners. The bike can never reach the other, but in corners it is perfect, and screaming the engine (more than 8000rpm) is not what u do in corners, then it is harder to turn... The gs 500E/F is an ok and old bike and can take corners quite fast in lesser rpm up to about 7500 (the max hp is at 7200). I have been in the same positon against suzuki TL 1000. And he (on the 1000) would do the corners much slower... But again great video, thumbs up for this. Greatings from Denmark. We have a system that makes every car or bike much more expensive. The tax on a vehicle is 180%. ...
Your driving skills looks great, I'm impressed. I'm beginner with my GS500. Can you tell me what kind of tyres you got? Greetings from Poland, mate!
Thanks a lot man! Tyres are in the description - it's the BT 45! ✌ greetings from germany
Incredible sound and video, greetings from Spain!✌️
Gracias amigo!✌
I used to own a bandit 400, which i loved.
If I get another bike I would good with the gs as they are easier to aquire.
Nice sound, and riding skills. That was fun to watch.
Thanks a lot man! Can recommend the gs500, it's a very nice and fun bike 👌
Very nice video! I have the blue one (GS500), It's a very good motorcycle...Congrats! From Brazil.
Thanks man !
Just bought that model as a first bike (the one from 2001, but I think the engine is the same anyway). Can't wait to learn and drive it, awesome video :)
congrats man, enjoy your GS ! Thanks :)
ride it
I like your videos because of your classic motorcycle. I sold my superbike a few years ago and riding a cb 500 now. Two fingers in greeting from GER.
Danke dir! Die CB500 würd ich auch mal gerne fahren 😁✌
Wieder mal zwei Daumen hoch.
The bigger bike predictably pulled away on the straights, but had all it could handle in the turns. Way to rep for the little guys!
man great video ,exlent handling didnt know thet bike can handel so good ,be safe man
Thanks a lot man 🙏👍
I have an old 100k miles gsx250. these engines drop straight in, this shows me all I need to know thanks 😁
man cant wait do get my carbd back in i just picked one up for 600 bucks in great shape exept for needs csarbs cleeaned
Nice video, good sound, great driving. 👌
Thank you man✌
Terrible choice of driving lane by the kawa rider... At one point he even nearly slipped...
On the other hand great riding from you!
Your video shows that a liter bike is overkill at the twisties and I bet you had so much more fun!
Thanks for your comment man, and yea i had a looot of fun 😁🤙
Nice riding man!
Similar to schaaf's videos.
Nice video quality
Thanks a lot man! 🙏🙏
Do you have any upgrades on your GS500? Great video men, when I first saw it, I automatically pushed the like button!
Thank you a lot buddy! Only the exhaust and a few optical parts, but the engine is stock! I'm working on a list with parts...should be coming soon!
wow that was impressive! your riding the gs up around the red line? you said its stock except exhaust? no suspension mods? what oil do u run? ive got a 05 gs500f which has an oil cooler, ive put progressive springs in forks, running irridium plugs and full synthetic oil.
do u still have the bike ? cheers
thanks man, yes only exhaust is from takkoni, rest is stock. No special oil just cheap 10W40, or in summer sometimes 20W50.
The bike is temporarily sold to a friend, but might come back in future :)
Absolut great 👍👍👍
Cheers 👋
Can’t complain didn’t get smoked at all lol good stuff man
Haha cheers man
hey, love this video! have you modified your front landing gear? harder springs? :)
Thanks Man! Nope nothing, Springs are original and soft as rubber😅 would be a good idea to change them
These engines are old now. Very hard to find a bike with the engine like his. If you rev this much to your old gs engine its done.
Exactly
it probably had zero engine oil at the end of this hahahah
Does it burn that much? Is it bad?
Never really seen one thrashed for that long without imploding@@cristian7602
Great Rider
Thankyouu
All I’ve got to say is what a fucking rider man!! Incredible bike control.
Cheers man ✌🏼
Nice one mate, have a 2001 blue gs500 and I would shit my self doing those turns like that ahahah! Greetings from Portugal!
Thanks man! Enjoy your gs and ride safe ✌
Is a fucking beast! Nice bike!
I have 2 x GS500 in the backyard and a Ducati monster ...
The Suzuki is by far the most fun for being a hoonigan .
It's amazing what you can do with just 50HP...
Same opinion 😁 had so much fun with this bike, enjoy your bikes and ride safe mate 👍
Thanks for great video man. Last two weeks I put less than 100 kilometers on my Duke 390 because its raining EVERY day. At least I can enjoy watching you 😛😊
Thank you my friend! Here it's also raining a lot, but sometimes i'm lucky and can go for a ride! Let's hope for the summer to come soon!
Lots of rain where I live too. ☔ Hoping for a great June 😎
I will be careful bro, thank you ! 😁
This prooves what gs500 can do
Nice bro. 💪💪
Thanks brodda🤙
On public roads, bigger isn't better or faster. I bet you had more fun too!
I think so too mate 😁 definetly had a lot of fun
Servus!
Herrliches Video!
Is that stock front brake. Does that gave you confidence and feedback with those leather gloves?
Yes it is stock! It doesnt make a big diffrence for me which gloves i wear, if textil or leather, but the thinner the gloves are the more control i feel on the throttle and the brakes.
Nice vid. Z1000 is too heavy 221kg too bad i love light bike more better in the bends i have MT03 with 167kg and i love it
Thanks man, totally agree. Less weight is better than more power ! 😁
Sweet riding! Do you know what mirrors you went with?
Cheers! Its just some random cheap mirrors from ebay 👍
Was hast du für Lenker?
How did you get the takkoni exhaust to fit? Trying to find an exhaust for my gs500... :)
Easy, cut the old one in about the middle of the exhaust system and put the takkoni on it. It's pretty simple 👍
@@seemerollin675 isn’t the pipe from the gs500e like 45mm and the takkoni 51? How do you get those to fit together?
@@jacobcreach you push and slide the pipe of the takkoni over the original pipe and fix it there with a clamp
@@seemerollin675 what exhaust is it? Thanks!
Hi! I’m from America and an ‘83 gs550 is my first on-road motorcycle! Any tips on if I can increase the ride height and make the exhaust higher? Looking to make a scrambler!
Hey man, sounds good! I've never build a scrambler, but i know there are 'riser-kits' you can put under the rear suspension. For the exhaust you may need a connecting pipe to get the exhaust higher...hope i could help you a bit, good luck!
Thanks! I’ll try those riser kits! And I can probably try and flatten the exhaust closer to the frame, while keeping the volume inside the same. I have the dual exhaust, so that helps with size too.
Hey,do you know what handlebars you have? I just got an 89, it has clip ons, i rather a higher ride height like yours. thanks
Hey man, it's an LSL L01. highly recommend that one or similar superbike bars, it increases the handling and comfort of your gs 10 times!
@@seemerollin675 awesome thanks!!
Never really seen a GS500 hammered like that. Schaaf is well known for doing it on his cb500.
Schaaf was the biggest inspiration to start this yt channel😁👍
"Na reta se conhece a moto, na curva se conhece o piloto"
Schon krass, was man alles aus ner 500er mit gutem Skill rauskitzeln kann?.Geiles Fahren!! ;)
Danke dir! Geht mehr als man denkt, bevor jemand mit seinem bike überhaupt ans Limit geht kaufen die meisten vorher eher was größeres :p
Im thinking about getting a GS500e mainly for commuting, the journey is a mix of motorway and country roads, can any one tell me what they handle like ? Do they feel flimsy like lowsider flimsy? Stupid question I've jsut watched the last part of the video and i can safely say i will be buying one lol nice ride brother 👍
Hey I don't know exactly what you mean with filmsy..but I can say the handling of the gs500 is pretty amazing, especially with a wide steeringbar. I've never had any issues with feeling unsafe in curves or loosing grip
Greetings from Ukraine! Thanks for the interesting videos! We plan to buy gs 500! I will look forward to a new video from the gs 500! What country are you from! Sorry if the spelling is wrong! I use Google translator. Be careful on the road!
Thank you for your comment man! I hope i find time and good weather for a new Video soon!
I'm from germany , greetings to Ukraine man! 👍✌

I got one but restricted to 34hp. Yours is full hp?
It's full 46 hp yea
Fahrwerk ??? mfg Christian
Moin, nich viel, Lenker spiegel Sturzbügel ansonsten kaum was. Fahrwerk is orginal 👍
@@seemerollin675 Top welche Reifendimensionen sind auf der GS
Hey Bro,

Many thanks thanks thanks ✌
how many miles you got on this? 60k?
more than 85k :)
hello what is the width of your tyres ?
Front is ; 110/70-17 54H TL and back is 130/70-17 62H TL
Nord Schwarzwald
I guess the bandit 400 would ve better 😁🇵🇹
A quanto arriva la GS bro?
English pls
sexi bike pero me quedo con mi z750..
In which parallel universe or alternate time line is this? Here on earth the only way a gs500 can keep up with a Z1 is either he was having fun playing with you or he just can’t ride very well. A fast Z1 rider would gap the GS500 after the first corner, however, removing the standard GS500 Uber eats delivery bag & phone holder will unlock extra speed & increase handling up to 30%....then you’ll show that kwaka who’s boss
Awesome bike though, looking to buy a 2016 GS500 with 1 years registration for Aus $1800. Perfect all round bike imo
haha yea man, seems like he wasn't the most experienced rider, but i can't tell, i don't know him. Could have many reasons why i could keep up with him, maybe he was just cruising and didn't see me behind him, reving the shit out of the GS ? :D nobody knows
Fast, is im Schwarzwald
Mine would fall apart lolol
😅😅 old gs can handle more than you think mate
What the GS500 lacks in power, compared to the Kawasaki, it makes for easier handling. The Kawasaki rider looks stiff in most of the parts. Cheers from Greece!
'Missing Power is replaced by madness'😁😅 but your right, easier handling is sometimes more worth than power! Cheers mate 🤙
@@seemerollin675 Well-set handling along with good skills can make for a great combination. Keep on riding and stay safe brother ✌
@@XgamerGR thanks bro you too!🤙
5:27 geil man
Da zieht er vorbeiiii😅
the driver on kawasaki is scared the other whith susuki is good
Lol thanks 😅
GOTTA LOSE THE STOCK EXHAUST. AND IF THAT'S ON A 5 I'D LOVE TO SEE YOU ON A 6
not really a chase if the liter bike lets you keep up aint it...
I used to drift corners on a gs500 back when I was a bit younger. I blew the engine and sold it and haven’t ridden since.
Love that bike, so under rated.
It can actually be a bike to get dirty with and have a lot of fun 😁 as you said, it's underrated!
You're barely leaning on your bike, you are leaning the bike instead. That's actually poor riding position bro. Wonder if you learned more in 2 years, will watch your latest vid to find out ;)
😂 and there is only one "right" way to take a corner? Sometimes I lean sometimes I don't, when you have a Problem with it just go watch something else :)
