Thank you very much for coming over. I feel very blessed that Austin gave me the opportunity to sit with him and share my story. I'm glad to have you here.
Love you ❤ guy so much for the facts that just show to the world the truth about Cambodia 🇰🇭. I appreciate you so much just the facts you 's been through the country. ❤
Thanks for the peek at Marko, I'll have to see if there is one in PP! Dairy items are definitely in the luxury category but man I need yogurt and cheese 😁
I'm pretty sure that they have one there. If not the dairy section in the aeon grocery stores are pretty good. At least the few I visited that were at the malls. I'll have to try some yogurt here. It's hard, especially because it was so good in Dalat.
Thank you Sean for showing us the Makro store in Siem Reap. I love this store and it was very organized and most items are still reasonable price compare to most items in California.
I really enjoyed the store myself and will be going back. Especially when I want to have a nice walk in some AC. The prices were way better than I expected, so I'll definitely use it to get the few western things I want. I'll especially go back for some apples when I get a craving that won't let go.
I can't believe that chips are cheaper here. Haha. I never bought the name brand ones back home. They were $5-7 a bag. So I always grabbed the generic chips and made do. I just don't bother over here. My palate has changed a bit and some of the foods I used to Love don't seem as appealing any longer.
As you saw, I only bought soda. Haha. I will still buy everything I can from the local markets but the odd thing I need that they don't have, I will use the box stores. Tight now the only thing like that is butter. Haha
I have no idea why so many people want to know the price of avocados. Haha. I never checked there but I bought 4 at the market for $1.25. They are local and available when in season.
The funny thing is that I only got a Costco membership once and I did it only to get a specific wire rack that I bought for my kitchen. Haha I never shopped otherwise. I never had a need for buying in bulk like that.
Shocked @ how cheap you are able to live there in Siem Reap Sean. ($600 or a bit less is amazing from what you told me already) My meds are likely going to up my budget some - 3 BP meds - blood thinners..... Heard those aren't terribly expensive ? - - - I'll be ecstatic if I can get by for $800 - '''most''' - months ?
I'm not sure how pricey the meds will be for you, but any that I've gotten here has been considerably cheaper than any back home. I have bad allergies, and the meds I get are usually $30 back in Canada. Here they are $2.50. So if that math translates to most meds, then they are 10% the price back home. Not sure if that is for everything, but it's the only thing I use here. Haha
I watched the entire vid in hope that you'd price some western food options, olive oil, canned soups and stews, frozen meats, etc. Maybe they weren't there? I'll never know, lol.
I honestly didn't see them, but I wasn't able to go down every aisle. They were restocking some of them and had them roped off. I will check the next time I go and see if they have any of that stuff there.
What sort of budget are you working with per month…, I know you’ve recently moved, so it won’t be as frugal, but give us an idea…. Sorry to be abrupt with the question, I’m just so sick of life in the uk and I’m almost desperate to escape….cheers man!!!
I'm always happy to answer this question. I spend around $500 USD a month. My rent and utilities are around $160 and the rest is eating out and entertainment. I eat mostly local foods and shop at the local markets which really helps keep the expenses down. It's easy to live comfortably on $10 a day plus whatever you want for rent. You can get very nice western style apartments for 200-300 and budget from there. $1000 a month is a very comfortable lifestyle here. I have friends that live within that budget and have a much better lifestyle than back home in the west.
@ holy smokes 500 lol…. That’s absolutely nuts…. Good for you…. Btw I’ve been subbed to you since u were in Thailand, and I haven’t shown much appreciation… thank you, I really do enjoy your videos
I just got to know you from Austin's channel. I'm going to watch all your videos and cheer for you all the time!🥰🥰

Thank you. I just happen to love Cambodia and the people here. So making videos about how much I love it here is easy.
Good tour Sir Frugal - very informative 🙏👌
Stay frosty 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Thank you. I'm glad that you enjoyed. I tried to make it as informative as I could. I really try to share as much as I can when shopping like this.
We love SR Makro visits ❤🎉
Thai Costco/Real Superstore thing
I was really impressed with it. I will definitely be returning.
Hey Sir Frugal - stay clear of poly , makes you sweats and retains the moisture - linen is the way to go 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I always stay away from polyester. I mostly wear cotton. I haven't had linen in a while but it was one of my favorite shirts I've even had.
@ Way to go Sir Frugal 👌👍
I try. Haha
Thank for sharing, sending love from Phnom Penh ❤
Thanks for watching.
Love your content so much 👍
I am so happy you are enjoying the vlogs.

@@FrugalWandererSean, you are the best.
Another great video, thanks! The Lay’s Chips were way cheaper in Makro than my local Walmart.

How much are avocados?
I didn't look when I was there but the last time I picked up the local avocados at the market, it was $1.25 for 3 of them and they were delicious
@@FrugalWanderer I'm flying into PP Friday - I live on avocadosvery keto friendly - ward off cancer too.
You can find some really great gd quality Thai products at Makro with great prices 👍
I was surprised how reasonable the prices were there. It was a refreshing thing to sleep for sure.
Can't imagine me leaving a place like that without filling a Tuk tuk!
I drove on my motorcycle on purpose, so I wouldn't be tempted. I know myself too well and the weakness I have in these places. Haha
Grow and move forward to big market… still want to buy from locals as much as possible…
As you saw, I only bought soda. Haha. I will still buy everything I can from the local markets but the odd thing I need that they don't have, I will use the box stores. Tight now the only thing like that is butter. Haha
Already subscribed brother ❤
Thank you very much. It is great having you here
Sean, is this cheaper or more expensive than Angkor Market?
I honestly don't shop at the Angkor market enough to know their prices on most things, but it definitely felt cheaper at Makro
Hey Sir Frugal - what’s the typical price for Avocado ?
I have no idea why so many people want to know the price of avocados. Haha. I never checked there but I bought 4 at the market for $1.25. They are local and available when in season.
@ Thanks Sir Frugal - in Australia you need to take a bank loan out, just to buy 1 Avo 👌😂😂😂
You need a mortgage in Canada. Haha
@@FrugalWandererthis is funny
Big Costco liked store… nice option… still prefer Costco as it came from my state.

Big place …pricey Sean
Well I know what it looks like now :-)
Yeah. Most western products are a little pricey, but it was way less expensive than I thought it would be.
