Well, i just found your channel. 30 minutes ago, you were sitting in the grass talking about Dart. 15 minutes later, you were starting your own authority. Now your leasing onto to intermodal, lol. Very smart man to "always" be fluid in your business mindset. I have Dart on my short list. All the best to hou sir. I'll continue to follow your progress.
👍 I don't know what your outcome was but you're making a intelligent business decision. I've been thinking about restarting my old authority and after doing the math and dealing with the insurance situation then doing some research and speaking to brokers but I've worked with previously it's just not worth it.... A new authority in 2024 is almost suicide unless you have extremely and I mean extremely low overhead. You're going to find that very little brokers are going to work with you on top of that the ones that will work with you want to pay you a dollar a mile Then there's the whole insurance debacle you're going to find that insurance rates are through the roof and most likely you're stuck with progressive no matter what...
Sounds like a smart move. Good luck. Going on your own in 2023 is like opening up a hardware store in a town that has a Home Depot, Lowe's, and a Wal Mart.
When I was an executive we had a mantra that we swore by, Fail Fast & Fail Cheap. Not saying you failed but if a project wasn’t going to make it, we wanted to know it real fast.
Numbers way to low. I parked my truck because i was fighting to take home 3k with my paid off truck company job pays me 2k a week i would not run for any thing less i can just get a regular job at that point and work 3 days a week and make a thousand bucks.
Been there/done that, ALL FREIGHT HAS BEEN MONOPOLIZED, this is an abundance of freight nationwide, however it’s not for you, if I was you starting out I would try the oilfield ! You can retire in 5 years with the right company !
Home every other night and off sundays. My own schedule, but 3k a week @ Greatwide. Live in the mid Atlantic. Run southern Va, northern Nc back to md. Agency GRC Freight w/ Greatwide Dallas Mavis. Can't complain about 3k a week on 2100-2300 miles a week. Get a good cash truck. My name is on my title.
