I have used several different glass paints. Not sure if we are allowed to name drop. If you really want to paint check out the ceramic and glass painting with colors for earth. Love your videos and exploration of different materials

I work with glassline as well also color pigments. Love mica powder however get frustrated trying to get rid of the sticky substance.

Thank you Liza for this video. I understand that this paint is made from glass powders. My question: how do we go about compatibility with different COEs?

In general, the paint you apply is extremely thin and you can use it on different glass COEs without risk of incompatibility. It is commonly used on stained glass, clear window glass and fusible glass. But if you're worried about compatibility you can find specific COE glass paints at your local art glass supplier.

It works without sand blasting and is food safe. if I want it shinny I put clear powder over it.

Thank you for your video explanation about painting. I a painter myself started painting on glass and soon discovered there is not much explanation on you tube how to work and mix mica powder not to get a sticky result as well bubbles after firing. You explained about seven up soda? Can I use soda powder? I am tottally in it and slowly come to understand the very difference between painting and glass painting, Thank you

I would suggest using a water friendly medium available at your art glass supplier specifically made for glass painting for better consistancy. I don't have any experience with soda powder to confidently give you advice on that. I would look into Peter McGrain, he has some excellent videos you can purchase on how to paint on glass.

If you use Layering Mix, you can work in layers without firing in between.

Please clarify - did you use Outline Black on the dichro teardrop? Can I infere that it will also take a full fuse and capping? I've used enamel sheets cut with my Scan'nCut, cheating but so beautiful & lots less frustrating!

I actually used the dry paints that you mix with a sticking agent on the peacock feather eyes, you could use outlining black; either on the backside of the clear or the top of the clear that caps the dichroic. And yes, the outline black will withstand a full fuse. Hope this helps answer your great questions!

We use silicon carbide 100 grit or similar. You can find it locally at an industrial builder supplier/location (like a welding supply store).
