  • The baby male betta from the short not too long ago is finally ready to breed. I know this because of the impressive bubble nest he’s been blowing the last few days, and I just had to share the progress he’s been making on it. Such a beautiful thing to see.

@@Art.Universe4 thanks. I’ll probably be moving stuff around in there once the baby betta is grown up. I need to get some good background plants growing in there. Some crypts back there now but I doubt they are doing so well.

Helo fren! I have a blue Betta fish but it started blowing a bubble nest but after it did he started acting different like keeps hiding doesn't eat that much anymore , got any idea why?

@@Nothigishere honestly I can’t tell you what’s wrong with them. The hiding and refusal to eat reminds me of the early onsets of dropsy or some other illness. Bettas don’t like to hide and are typically very curious fish. I’d recommend doing some water changes with spring water or dechlorinated tap water. Also check to see if there’s any discoloration on the scales or if they seem to have tearing on their fins. Aside from that all you can do is check your water parameters and hope they get better.

Do beta fish do this usually? I consider getting one and it seems pretty scary to be honest. Would the fish be disappointed or sad if I don’t get him a beta fish lady? Well besides my dumb questions all the best

@@Adiryo it’s normal for males to do it, and I haven’t heard anything about needing to get them a female. A healthy male betta blows bubble nests from time to time, and it depends on the fish. As long as your betta has plenty of room to swim (i recommend at least 5 gallons), and he’s got everything he needs in the tank. Id just say the bubble nest means he’s healthy.

@@Adiryo its no problem. Thanks for the comment. It made me smile because I wondered the same thing for my bettas. I didnt know if i needed a mate for my bettas at one point. I want to breed bettas though, so seeing such a big nest made me super excited.
