He's playing well right now, and probably should have gotten opportunities earlier in the season. Let's not get ahead of ourselves though by calling for him to be the unquestioned #1. Remier looked good in his games too, and Husso might be rounding back into form. Keep rotating them all, IMO.
tell us you know nothing about goaltending without telling us you know nothing about goaltending. he let goals in. the same kind Ned did and you ppl ran him out of town, and this D is 4x better lol.
@@DuffyTheGander he looked better than solid given all the work he did. That one goal wasn't even his fault, TBH. Those shots are really hard to read and block.
Lyon is looking really solid, he was one blooper goal away from another shutout. Larkin was great. Hopefully DOPS pays more attention to that slew foot than the refs did.
I havent seen Larkin smiling lately. Hopefully he's doin okay, i hear he's playing through something, and his wife's pregnancy probably puts some stress on him
Neck pain. Happened two weeks ago. It cannot be injured any worse and is not too bad, it’s just quite painful. Not public information, just heard it from my doctors office which also services the wings.
The RW's are finally protecting their goalie. Other than taking crappy penalties, they did great. At least they didn't blow their two goal lead this time. Thanks for the great highlights, D. LGRW!
I'm okay with this one, TBH. The possession metrics were bad, but Lyon was solid and that's what needed when your team has a game where the defense was shaky. Even 5 on 5 scoring was enough to seal the deal on this one.
@@awood40 only good thing that night other than there being a lot of wings fans, is one dude said go Blue to me and we almost started a F Ohio chant outside lol
That assist from face off from larkin😍 Wings looked good as a team hopefully they can keep it going a few games get the confidence back showing some grit
it wasn't only the assist, he also directed the two defensemen to other positions and this made it all possible in the 1st place. his 2nd effort to make the assist was just great, i agree.
They should've called a goaltender interference penalty when the guy knocked Lyon's helmet off. And they should've called a penalty against that dude for the slew foot. A ref was literally two feet away, how did he not see it? There are refs who stand at center ice, about twenty or more feet away and they've called penalties on the other side of the ice that the ref who was standing a foot from it somehow didn't see. Some of the officiating has been ridiculous this season.
That was a linesman, not responsible for calling penalties, only in cases of a major but they must report it to a referee and the referee decides if it in fact reached a major or even if it has to slide as unseen. But that said, the penalties on Boldy for holding and Rossi...fabrications of the ref's imagination! It is getting absurd all you have to do in front of some of these homer hacks is breate on an opponent wrong. The Wild beat themselves and made it easy for Detroit! Don't have to say much more than that. The Wild are not a team and are a real dumpster fire for sure!!!
Gotta keep playing this well against everyone, not just teams that are slightly (or definitively) better (for now). This team has really responded to having Lyon between the pipes. I think it's time to let the kid eat a little and maybe that's the spark they need to make a run.
The Winged Wheels looked to have fun but realistically the Wild have more coasters than your average bar! I guess in some parts they're called "No Move Clause" not for the Wild they are NO MOVEMENT CLAUSES aka COASTING CLAUSE! 5 guys trying to do the work of 25 is usually pretty easy to defeat. Good to take advantage of it when you can! Good win!
Finally the refs got it right. WOW!!! 🤦🏾♀️❤🏒 Good job with the changes that have been made. Also Lyon is on point as goalie. 😊👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Happy Thanksgiving!!! 🦃
That one wasn’t intentional. He was attempting to turn away from contact and accidentally caught Rass. Nowhere near as blatant as the one on Debrincat.
Even more than the slewfoot, I cannot believe the refs let the wild hack away at Alex lyons head like that in the third when he was on the ground. Right in front of their faces
Husso has looked better the last couple of games. Just had the birth of his first child, which helps to explain his subpar play. He's obviously had a lot on his mind.
A lot of good skaters on Detroit. Still need that #1 superstar Center. Love 'ya Lucas, but, the #3 pick in 2020 would have made Larkin an elite #2 C. Stutzle turned out to be the true #1 in 2020. Not even close. A dynamo. Wings won SIXTEEN games in 2020 Covid season and picked...fourth? NOW, the team with the worst record can pick no worse than...THIRD! Son of a bitch! Fucked up the development of the team. Yzerman will have an incredibly difficult time finding a must-have C like Tim Stutzle. Unless there's something ready to graduate to the NHL, only a big trade will bring an elite Center. Goaltending isn't an insignificant worry, either. If Cossa doesn't pan out (Osgood was the only Goalie the Wings ever drafted that got them to the Cup), um, another trade? Great goalies don't usually hit the market. Unlikely to sign a FA.
I don't quite understand why people keep on saying Larkin isn't a #1 Center. He has been near a point per game player in these down years and is in the top 30 in scoring currently. Considering he is playing through an injury and still right above point per game pace is pretty #1 Center to me.
Sorry there pal! Once the linesman laid his hands on Middleton he could face a match penalty for continuing an altercation. The referee was right there. Middleton isn't stupid. Playing for a terrible team but for now, he's on the roster for $2.5 Mil a year...real dumb, huh?
I'm not sure. It looks to me like the ref already has his hands on him before he approaches debrincat. The only thing i see change is Rasmussen shows up. That being said, I'm a hockey noob so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯@@bobholst874
The Wild are easy to beat. They have maybe 5 guys expelling all of the effort (none of them named Kaprizov, Boldy, Foligno, Johansson, Hartman, Spurgeon are working worth a tinker's damn!) They coast around lifelessly acting like they are on their last legs, taking 12 minutes for the first shot on goal after Detroit scores on a lame called penalty??? The Avalanche game they went 22 minutes without a shot on goal! They don't move their feet up or down the ice! They might as well call their contracts COASTING CLAUSES! So many passengers, the opponent only has to cover 1.25 guys on a shift because the 5 on the Wild exude the effort of 1.25 players! And that is why the Wild have zero zone entry threat! A lazier, more poorly coached team I have never seen before in my life. Dean Evasson has no answers nor does he need them...he's Billy's guy! He's going nowhere and so is this team!
That raymond move was the best thing I've seen since Datsyuk
I'm going to say it again - I think Raymond is the best forward on this team. He is in the middle of everything.
Yeah, he's making a lot happen in their own zone and he's a great two-way player especially at his age.
The assists I've seen on a lot of the goals is so good. This team is playing good team hockey
Please make Lyon our #1 goalie. We are unstoppable with him in net. Were 5th In the NHL In goals scored. So proud of how were playing
He kinda reminds me of Mrazek.. and having #34 doesn't hurt either lol

Good!!! Crazy there was no call
And I loved seeing Seider giving it to Hartman about it

Doubt it since he did it against the wings
Will he even get the $5,000 fine? Doubtful.
