Every public mall in the world should have live classical music. Maybe it would cut down on the fighting and leave people in a better mood!
For centuries music was the go to entertainment for families. Everyone I knew growing up had a piano in the house. Some were played often but others were covered with dust.
You could tell by their disposition who was who.
Your ability to transpose an already difficult piece into a totally different key was most impressive. The triumphant smiles from both performers showed exactly how thrilled by the performance they were.
He's not improvising that arrangement, I guarantee you. This is rehearsed.

Still, i've tried to transpose la campanella... The finger positions become harder

If this is, in fact, staged, it means every single one of his comments ("I have to transpose!" "I found out later she is an international star") is a lie.
I mean... this _is_ Paris. And, perhaps he does this a _lot._ And perhaps these "guest" musicians know where/when he plays, and so know when to drop by(?)
She is insanely good. Wow!
Every movement she made IS only and exactly for creating the perfect sound. Her physical movement was more driven by the thoughts of making sound then her brain just telling the limbs to move. Ethereal. She is a human violin. Almost scary to witness.
Anyone who can casually pull off a perfect staccato on a violin in a room full of people has my respect

It’s definitely staged. Listen to the actual la Campanella by Paganini. The violinist skipped out on all of the hard parts and there was literally no way for the pianist to know that unless he rehearsed with her before
@@TheAsianTree "she skipped the hard parts" - Are you kidding. She was playing incredibly fast with notes rapidly going from the high end to low on the violin. I suspect as in impromptu jam session without music and change in key this is a fantastic proformance - even if staged.
@@1Phoenizian yes, that’s violin repertoire for you. Yes, those parts are hard, but if you listened or practiced this piece(like I have), the second section of la Campanella is much more technically difficult

Many say these performances are fake/staged. I don't care - the public gets to hear great music played by those who enjoy performing. UA-cam pays for the performances via advertising, and if it's fake, likely all performers share in the profits.
It sure beats the heck out of the "elevator music" that ordinarily infuses the interiors of public and private places.

I’ve worked in retail for over 19 years here in the USA and agree with the above comments about the background music in many public spaces. Also agree with the remarks on performing in public. One of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do in my life was singing a solo at a funeral service with the brother and other family members sitting in the front rows of the church.
doesn't matter if fake or staged.. whatever.. performance & music (even out of the horrible mistuned piano) still's great..! (considering that from number of views on this performance)

Its nice concept, it doesn't matter if is staged or not. To me is like a movie. We should enjoy in beautiful music and supreme artists. Its gentle imaginary world., while outside is getting crazier and crazier. Finally something nice getting more and more exposure.
If anything about his videos is "fake" it might only be the fact that such great musical collaborators are showing up at the time of filming, because there is Nothing Fake about all their talents! If my mom, who was a classical pianist and vocalist, and who taught me to play at a very young age, were alive today, I would show these videos to her and I know she would have thoroughly enjoyed them! Well, I don’t think anyone’s arguing whether these are staged or not, due to how obvious it is. The real problem is the blatant lying, why disguise beautiful music with misleading subtitles like “now I need to change every note to adapt to her” when clearly he had an orchestral reduction prepared.

London is a centre of classical music, violinists always take their instruments with them (they play every day), and they are attracted to the sound of an excellent trained classical pianist and live to perform.
The throughput of people in large London stations and malls is immense.
I think this happens naturally and it is not surprising.
The music is fabulous and is enhanced by being in public and its spontaneous nature.
This was popular music,200 yrs ago and is still played today!.I WAS TOTALLY AMAZED AT THIS DISPLAY OF MUSICIANSHIP BY THIS DUO...
Who is she? If she is an internationally known violinist, it would be nice to hear more from her.

OMG those high notes. My 11 yr old daughter gets so excited when she hits even 1 high note that resonates like that. She's just finished grade 7. It's a real joy listening to music like this impromptu.

Bravo to the two of them keeping in time with each other without rehearsal. And fortunate that he knew how to accompany her in the whole of the Paganini concerto movement --- Liszt's La Campanella doesn't use the material of that middle episode.
Without rehearsal? You do realize in the La Campanella for violin there’s was a whole section of double stops she skipped as well as a whole other section of the piece(filled with double harmonics, left hand pizz, etc.), as well as a completely different ending as to what she played. How would he have known all of this?
