    Please, will someone help me build a C5 Corvette like this, please I don't know much about engine's or motor work .I'm willing to help. This was always a dream for me .If there's anyone out there that can give that gift of my dream please help. Every time I would my C5 Corvette to get any engine work or bodywork and I mean every time I've had trouble and problems with my Corvette. I Live in Michigan, The Motor City, but I've learned over the years most people in Michigan are not that compassion about you as a customer . You bring your car in for engine work, body work or what ever. And you pay your money and when you have a problem they put you on the back burner, and when you get back with them they charge you even more. I think I have a beautiful C5 Corvette , but I just hope something like this could happen to my Corvette. This is the BEST option for the Corvette, THE VERY BEST

    I installed an A&A supercharger to my c6 two years ago. Best decision I ever made! No issues; works like it should and looks great. This channel helped me make that decision. I have the TI head unit which was a free upgrade at the time. In my opinion, no better blower on the market for the corvette.

    Former 98 C5 owner - A&A V3si - stock engine / exhaust (borla cat back). 9lbs boost. Never had a minutes problem out of it except harmonic balancer failed after about 80,000 miles. Fantastic setup. Can’t go wrong. Think I paid about $6K for the kit. RPM in Garner NC installed and tuned the car. It was an A4 with 3.42 gears. Transmission gear ratios in 3-4 were WAY TOO Tall but it was quick to 100ish. Header & Cam would probably put you closing in on 600 wheel with a man transmission.

    That C5 you have is well built and lays down amazing numbers!!! My question is how does the A/A supercharger for long extended road trips in warm conditions or in any conditions??? Also $400 smackers off is a great deal. This video proves again you are the C5 Professor.

      The beauty of the A&A kit is that when you are at part throttle it just spins like an alternator and uses only a few HP to spin with no load as any boost is vented and not under pressure. Put your foot in it and vacuum closes the blow off valve and allows boost (and the fun times) to begin!

    Today i saw a very good looking black C5 for sale locally.
    Its magazine featured, excellent condition, black, hard-top, nice aftermarket hood, a 454ci LSX GM crate motor paired w/ LS7 heads, level v built 4L60E transmission w/ 3400 stall converter, zo6 gears & lightweight driveline, bigger brakes, upgraded fuel system, etc etc etc.
    Man after typing this up, i have to see of its still available.
    I wish you were not 2k miles away.
    If it passed your inspection, does $15k sounds decent?
    The drivetrain is 20k miles, 108k chassis.
    I'm seriously considering postponing the C8.

    Can you cover that c6s coilover air cup setup. I’ve been interested in doing it and I think I have it figured out. But I would like to see how it’s actually done.

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  2 дні тому

      If you are talking about Bens air lift system it uses a compressor in back and allows him to flick a switch and get a few inches of extra lift for speedbumps, steep driveways etc. I think we may have touched on it it in this video a little bit. ua-cam.com/video/1GkNbsTVwEE/v-deo.html

      @@Toys4Life thanks for the reply. I know how the air lift system works as I was looking into bags before I settled on air cups. I was wondering more about how the cups were installed onto the coilovers because bc’s c5/c6 coilovers seem to go together a bit differently than coilovers for other cars. It seems tho that he bought the car with them already installed.

    If the only modification I’m doing besides the A&a supercharger is the exhaust, is the better option the Si head unit? any other supporting mods that are required or recommended?

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  2 дні тому +1

      This is a tough question. Here's my 2 cents. I believe the V3si more efficient and makes more power under the curve for up to around 600 whp. If your goal is north of 600 whp then the V3ti might be a better choice. IMO, 585 RWHP on a stock engine is plenty and if I was to go for 600+ at the wheels I would want to modify the engine first with stronger pistons, wider ring gaps and better rod bolts to go all out. The sweet spot IMO for longevity seems to be a good safe tune and keep things at or below around 550 RWHP.

      That is what is so addictive. Mild mannered but hit is and it PULLS. I have run as quick as 11.45 @130 on a really good launch. But a lot of 11.55 - 11.8's all at 130 MPH. Track is at about 850' above sea level fwiw. Appreciate the comment!!

    I have already purchased an ANA kit before installation at high RPMs I have a lifter noise. The car has 60,000 miles on it a 2004 coupe probably going to put lifters rods rockers springs and would have to do a new cam before the installation, any other recommendations from anyone out there?

    • @jakef.9526
      @jakef.9526 2 дні тому

      Im sure if you do the cam you'll do the common stuff added on top of that (new timing chain, possibly new hardware, etc) you'll probably need a clutch as well for the a&a level of power

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  2 дні тому +1

      No synergy doing a clutch at the same time. If you don't drive too crazy stock clutches can hold for quite a bit of street use. I would absolutely find that noise and fix (like you are going to do) before supercharging! Keep in mind - you don't have to install a cam or any other mode to get over 500 RWHP.

    • @johnmcgarity3768
      @johnmcgarity3768 2 дні тому

      @ thank you for responding I value your opinion I plan on doing the clutch a little bit later. I was told if I do new lifters on the existing cam, it would chew up the lobes on the cam otherwise, I would leave the cam alone.

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  2 дні тому

      Get a third opinion. I'll give you a second opinion right here. When you pull the lifters as long as the rollers look new with no pitting or other abnormalities, you should be fine replacing them in my opinion. It's the old school flat tappet style (non-roller lifters) that will chew up a cam. Roller cams are different. Let me know what else you hear 😉

    I'd love to get an A&A Supercharger but I have a more pressing issue to deal with. Great video by the way. I do have a question to ask of you. My Torque Tube was rebuilt by the previous owner about 5-6k miles ago but in the past few weeks I've noticed an irritating "rolling" sound from underneath the car. It doesn't happen all the time, mainly on slowing down and in heavy traffic. But not all of the time, just occassionally. Not so on acceleration. It's a rotating sound but seems to not effect the ability to drive the car. Granted, sometimes I am a spirited driver but not to the point that I should have any issues. Is it possible that there is something I need to do short of another rebuild? Or, and I haven't seen anything along these lines about lubing the Torque Tube? Wish that I could produce a video with audio for you to hear. Your thoughts? May you and your Family have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  2 дні тому

      There really isn't any lubing you can do the the TT. They can be a bit noisy with manual transmissions from time to time. If you have a 2000 Manual car or older the bushings tend to wear out sooner as they are smaller. Happy Holidays to you as well!!

    two years ago I cammed my 03 netted 75 RWHP and pinned the harmonic balancer just in case a good deal for a A&A came along...$400 would take the bite out of the dyno cost 🙂

  • @dpbabbitt1
    @dpbabbitt1 2 дні тому

    What, besides cost, are the downsides to doing this?

    • @scoutdogfsr
      @scoutdogfsr 2 дні тому

      The down side I've experienced is heat soak on track days.
      The other less important one is I miss the long flat torque curve of the NA motor. Now the motor rips through the rpms. This is just a silly personal thing though.

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  2 дні тому +1

      @scoutdogfsr - if you are talking about longer road course racing where your doing laps for 10 minutes or more constantly - then I agree - you would want to take several measures to control heat. For drag racing track - there are no issues IMO.

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  2 дні тому +3

      @dpbabbitt1 Downsides are potentially tickets and worn rear tires. Also, I wouldn't use this without other mods for long road course tracks - Like 2 mile road courses - too much heat. Street, drag racing and autocross - loads of fun IMO!

    are you still happy with the HPI trans mount you installed years ago also...i'm looking to stop the wheel hop. thinking about HPI BAR or AMT solid.

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  2 дні тому

      The HPI mount is solid and well designed. Some have commented that they replaced a couple of the bolts that come with the kit but other than than its all good. Little bit of vibration gets transferred to the car which is unavoidable as you are replacing a giant squishy chunk of rubber with firmer poly.
