The computer guy you made is literally perfect. Also that added detail of us (the viewers) being tied to a chair, like this host is a villain bragging about how he's won... Just amazing.
This is done beautifully. The character bouncing around, the usage of both screens on his body. But my favorite part that nobody seems to talk about, the person the robot is singing to is tied down and we only see a glimpse of that. Love that small detail. Like a true villain song.
The first frame literally shows him taking off a blindfold, implying that the Internet has either had someone kidnap them or directly kidnapped them himself just to tell them his scheme.
I feel like this video was mabye metaphorical for example how the internet was talking to the person like it was a parent of some kind likely referring to how parents most of the time basically let the internet raise there kids
Dude I love these animatics and animations of this song because everyone has their own view on who the guy singing it is. I love how you use the screens as the face and body and sometimes his suit will change or the way you use emojis as showing emotion. So amazing man, you deserve more subs!
Frankly excellent punchline in the single moment where we see the camera POV character - and their wrists're bound. And, also, the bit where the mom fades out and it's this...internet personified that takes her place. Subtly dark.
for me, the whole song is dark. it's grim and dystopian. The part with child and mother just emphasizes this was always out of your control. it has all been done to you and you never really had a choice, and it performed as it was designed. obedience isn't enforced, just consume and everything else will come on it's own
That scene makes me think that this Internet Guy had a personal connection to OC, like the tablet the mom gave the OC, causing the Internet guy to be obsessed
Don’t forget the part at the beginning! If you slow down the video, or just watch closely you can see duck tape coming of (presumably) the persons face.

i love the character design for this! And there's so many well choregraphed moments for individual lines. you give so much emotion to the slower part of the song. Definitely my favorite animatic of Welcome to the Internet so far.
I love how you made the Internet a character in your animatic, it really shows how villainized Bo Burnham made the internet, as a "nice guy" who exists deceptively and fits nicely with the song highlighting the Internet's dark sides. It also seems fitting to be an anthropomorphic character, who "watched" millenials grow up and even at the end when it seems the internet was designed to be our "friend" forever. Beautifully done! ❤️
This was AMAZING. It's exactly how I imagined the character to be. It had the exact energy I pictured it would have. It's like it's a villain both mocking and sympathizing with its enemy and I love that. I also loved the usage of internet emoticons as facial expressions for the character, it's just *chef's kiss*. The addition of a few animations to make the character more lively is absolutely genius. I love this animatic so much and I see you have put a lot of time, patience, and effort into it and I absolutely congratulate you for that. This was very well done! Great job!
This is the best animatic of this song that I've seen. The robot guy is perfect characterized and epitomizes how the design algorithms and AI of the internet are designed to suck people in and wring as much attention and engagement as possible out of them, for better or (quite often) worse. The only small change I might want to make is putting more real-life pictures on the background screens as the anything & everything flashes by.
It’s honestly wonderful to see how different people’s “animatic versions” of a song are. I imagined some fancy guy/gal/idk while the setting is in a library, and the books are supposed to represent different types of content.
I see the whole song, I leave a like. This is honestly the best character design I've seen in any Welcome to the Internet animatic, the dual screens with an emphasis on emoticons/emojis for expressions if utterly fantastic. I would love so much to see this fully completed, this is my favorite one so far.
I love the touch of how through most of it Mr. Compuper Internet Man is something goofy & silly with a slightly sinister undertone, then after "Honey how ya grew" he goes full-on bananas evil robo mode. The internet, in and of itself is amazing if a little weird, but when people use it in bad ways, namely parents letting it raise their kids, that it becomes this horrible, attention-sucking, algorithm-based machine. Magnifique mah fwend, 10/10 visual storytelling
You nailed it! This is EXACTLY how I imagined the song to be animated, down to the tears of The Internet being proud of how You grew up. I even motioned my arms in time with our robot host! I'm so glad that someone saw the song how I did; as a villain that has entrapped the viewer, and wants to shove as MUCH INFO in their face as much as possible. The amount of time and work you gave this is very noticeable; I forgot at times that it was an animatic and not a fully fleshed animated music video. Your art is incredible!
Me at first: wow, they used a genuinely friendly looking character for a song that sounds like it would be sung by a villain, and made it work! **tv dude turns around during the laughing part** Me: *oh sh-*
It goes from the guy telling things about the Internet, then he goes down talking about... well weird things and speeding up, then goes silent, then talks about how it wasn't always like this, then starts LAUGHING ON THE FLOOR, and then goes insane.
i really like during the laugh the bots face goes evil then switches back to happy when the beat kicks back up showing he has the darkness in him but he hides it well.
The sad thing about this is that it portrays the internet to be so, so bad. But really, it’s fine. Good, even. No, further, a miracle. Full connection allows for globalization, new ideas, and people to find others like them. Except me, of course. I’m eternally lonely.
I don’t think it necessarily shows the internet to be “bad,” just…kind of maliciously amoral. It exists to engage you, and it wants to trap you there in it’s perpetuity. It wants your attention and doesn’t really care about who or what you are. People online might care, but the internet itself just wants you here, forever preoccupied with its endless content. It says “Welcome!” But it knows it will never have to say goodbye.
Technology takes no sides, it has no will of its own (yet). The problem of the Internet is not its own existence, but who it serves (the giant capital of Silicon Valley)
The little detail at 1:04 of the viewer being tied up at forced to listen to this computer guy lecture them about the Internet makes this song 1000x better to me 😂 keep doing what you do!
this is seriously one of the best interpretations of this song i’ve ever seen, so many little details from the screens to the amazing character design to the expressions and little visuals, it’s amazing!
@@lordindustrous4971 Oh, I'm not even american, and i hate PragerU, It's simply when someone (or a whole university) it's an idiot... then it's an idiot
When Cosmo hugged the screen, I brought the screen in real close to my face. I didn't have a phone for a while, but I still grew up on the computer and internet. As a consequence, and because of a divorce, the internet truly did raise me more than my own parents. I knew what a man's brain looked like, splattered over a sidewalk, by the time I was twelve, after one too many late-night binge sessions. Yet, I can't bring myself to regret it.

It’s honestly wonderful to see how different people’s “animatic versions” of a song are.
I imagined some fancy guy/gal/idk while the setting is in a library, and the books are supposed to represent different types of content.
if i ever animate im doing it
THATS SUCH A GOOD IDEA MAN
But if it's a library, he would be kicked out for singing
@@The-ULMRtrue be dat
Your art is incredible!
bro there’s so many little things i love about this animatic, like how at 3:57 the face of the robot starts glitching, it’s just so cool
No way someone actually animated this masterpiace:DD love it
Me at first: wow, they used a genuinely friendly looking character for a song that sounds like it would be sung by a villain, and made it work!
**tv dude turns around during the laughing part**
Me: *oh sh-*
THAT WAS MY REACTION-
LMAO-
the prager U bit in the beginning was immaculate
Agreed
I very much agree
So true
In my opinion prager part should of been youtube rewind.
@@gabrielc7861 they're cringe like everything else in rewind
It goes from the guy telling things about the Internet, then he goes down talking about... well weird things and speeding up, then goes silent, then talks about how it wasn't always like this, then starts LAUGHING ON THE FLOOR, and then goes insane.
omg the movements and expressions and this character is perfect this is just so goooood
This one is simply the best one out of all of them
I love how it lulls you into a false sense of security and then goes all creepy and reveals itself
i really like during the laugh the bots face goes evil then switches back to happy when the beat kicks back up showing he has the darkness in him but he hides it well.
The sad thing about this is that it portrays the internet to be so, so bad. But really, it’s fine. Good, even. No, further, a miracle. Full connection allows for globalization, new ideas, and people to find others like them.
Except me, of course. I’m eternally lonely.
but its accurate
@@kaelkirkby9191 sadly accurate it is a paragon of good and bad
I don’t think it necessarily shows the internet to be “bad,” just…kind of maliciously amoral. It exists to engage you, and it wants to trap you there in it’s perpetuity. It wants your attention and doesn’t really care about who or what you are. People online might care, but the internet itself just wants you here, forever preoccupied with its endless content. It says “Welcome!” But it knows it will never have to say goodbye.
Technology takes no sides, it has no will of its own (yet).
The problem of the Internet is not its own existence, but who it serves (the giant capital of Silicon Valley)
@@lorenzodallacostacervelin1205 yes it is twisted it makes us reliant on it it gibes us entertainment but what is its cost
2:20 oh my god the keyboard brand is Yahaha with the tagline "You found me!" and that's amazing
The fact you put PragerU when he said "some worse" is hillarious and deserves an instant like
I personally despise it when things get political because people only yell at each other instead of having a logical argument
@@lordindustrous4971 Oh, I'm not even american, and i hate PragerU, It's simply when someone (or a whole university) it's an idiot... then it's an idiot

3:20 WHERE DID THE CHILD GO
When Cosmo hugged the screen, I brought the screen in real close to my face.
As it gets worse Im a twelve year old and I know way too much about “adult videos”

I've seen a good chunk of Welcome to the Internet animations and I gotta say:
This is, by far, the best I've seen!
Also woah I never noticed the background vocals at the end until now. Thanks for pointing those out!
I love the detail that the spectator is actualy tied to a chair
First animatic that did the whole song and is easy to watch
Amazing job man
Incredible. The character is so fleshed-out and lively, the animations are so smooth and fluid, every aspect is so creative, the color changes, I mean I could go on for days.
The ironic part is that they are a robot
Rick:hey morty I know what universe to go to and when you enter it greets you with a song
Morty:o-o-okay but what universe is this?
Rick:the Internet universe
I cannot describe how perfectly this animatic aligned with Bo's voices in my head. you deserve the highest artist recognition omg
Is nobody gonna talk about the fact that we're tied to a chair while all of this was happening?
typical *XD*
That's normal

i smell UNDERRATED ARTIST
the animatic looks so good, even bouncy at times, and the body movement and facial expressions of the character (idk how to call it, but let's go with that) are so good and clear. just 👌
also my favorite frame is this 3:32 (ngl i was tempted to hold it's hands through the screen '-' )
This looks incredible and now im imagining a movie with this guy as the villain
I love this! The animation is really smooth
3:56 they really remind me of Flowey here xD
I just love how everyone heard this song and though
This seems like it’s sung by a villain in a top hat
Great animatic💛
this creeped me out so much i literally want to throw away all of my tech and turn off the internet for good, as someone who was piratically raised on the internet (and boy did it fuck me up) this was PERFECT!!!! absolutely loved this!!!! ur super talented
your mom said it’s my turn to be pinned
cant argue with that logic

NO DAD SAID I’D BE PINNED NEXT
I will shove you to the shredder machine if you keep fighting for pins
I have no words. This is exactly what I was wanting to see as soon as I heard this song. Accept all the praise I can give, insufficient to the wonder here though it may be, and take my like and comment for that well deserved algorithm bump. This needs to be seen!

I actually fucking love this computer man

A dunk on PragerU within the first minute. We simply love to see it
very glad someone noticed that
Nope. He could have chosen literally a million things that suck that aren't political, but instead he reveals himself as a libtard. Shitty animation too.
FFS he could have shown UA-cam Rewind but no, he had to promote his libtard opinion instead.

PragerU being "some worse" is S tier
Nobody has given me good enough reason to believe that was warranted
@@lordindustrous4971 I’ve seen you complaining about it being political, but I’m not a political person and even I hate PragerU
All their videos are misinformation with no actual references for their information, and they are transphobic, have horrible beliefs on parenting, and are just overall incorrect.
I believe I saw a racist ad from them as well but I can’t be sure on that one so take that with a grain of salt
I don’t care if you’re conservative, a liberal, or whatever, but PragerU is not a good source for any information or news since all they do is misinform and fear monger. (ex: saying “real” women are in danger from transwomen, which they are not)
Also! This album literally has some political themes in it I’m pretty sure, so I don’t see the point in complaining about this animatic being “political”
You judge people for making everything political, yet here you are arguing over politics in many reply sections. I don’t see the point in it, if you didn’t like *one* frame in the animatic you shouldn’t be in at least 3 replies trying to deem it horrible.
