  • On a cold and wet day we approached the foot of Mt Pinnibar trail ready for a bit of fun - but we had no idea we'd be there into the night.

Hm. Great vid. Mt Pinibar trail has beaten me twice. First time wet track. 2nd time dusty dry. No place for an ifs 100 series. Our live axle 80s and a GU handled it with little effort where I had to turn around. Hopefully they will put a dozer through there soon as it is our favourite trail in Vic HC.

It is challenging especially when you haven't got time on your side. We camped at Buckwong hut and visited both Mt Gibbo and Mt Pinnibar on the same day. Tracks were steep and challenging but not this bad. The following day, we exited Buckwong hut and Vic High Country by Mt Hope Rd to Tom Groggin. This was easier track.

We just came back from our 10 day adventure to the High Country. Tackled the Pinnibar track from the Tom Groggin side. We did it the same time last year and thought it was rough…boy, it was 10 times worse this year. We captured it in our first episode and hope we do it justice. Much respect.

I also noted Ford send a mechanic and sometimes engineer. For an authentic ownership demonstration, when you have a breakdown you should have to wait for a day for a flat top to arrive, then the local Ford dealership saying you’ll have to wait for a week ‘til we finish all the oil changes we have booked before we even open the bonnet, then it will be 4-6 weeks for parts and then after they arrive, we will book it in in another week once we’ve done more oil changes and fit those for you. That’s an authentic breakdown experience these days, sad to say.

Yes Josh is a mechanic (as well as a social media wunderkind) but I'm afraid he doesn't work for Ford. He's very much part of the PC4X4 team. ☺️

A Ford engineer came along on one episode in three years. He took holidays to do so because he’s a 4x4 enthusiast. I love your conspiracy theory though- it’s far more interesting than the reality 😅

The vehicles are not running stock tanks, its an aftermarket tank made from 2mm aluminised steel. The boys however haven't been all that kind to them 😆

@@MR4X4COMAU Brown Davis I presume? Still no protection seems like madness, kind or not 2.8t (Estimate)of vehicle dropping on a fuel tank even a few inches is a huge point impact load ,no matter what it’s made out of. Not much will survive that without protection to take some of the sting out of the fall.

Is the vehicle fitted with underbody armor, and if not, would that have prevented the leak?

It is fitted with underbody protection, unfortunately the old fuel tank had taken more than a few hits on the last season and this was the one that finally split it.

You can it state Forest but please don’t in national parks. I see too many people with dogs in national parks. 1. The bait a lot of NP for ferals so your furry friend might not make it home but 2. And more importantly they are restricted areas to protect native wildlife and the more people doing the wrong thing the more likely they will be to restrict access!

Sooo Pat, Does Nissan still make the most reliable Ford ever? lol.. My old Land Rover mechanic was named Pat also.. He use to have a workshop in Brooklyn on Geelong Road, He introduced me to Tony's Pies in Footscrazy I loved it.. Every Monday he would shake his head at me as I kept coming back with something new for him to mend, He said he doesn't know how I turned the solid live axle into a banana by driving into 2 ft deep ruts in the Lalor paddocks beside the Hume Freeway by-pass, I said easy, It's Land Rover weak so it's very easy to damage a Land Rover product. And he found it was very easy to manually bend the diff casing back the other way to make it look straight lol It wasn't straight but shhh Still I was never able to find any oil leaks that so many Facebook Warriors use to claim about Land Rovers err Nooo, Really it's anything made in England with their dodgy engineering skills.. But my 2 Disco's never leaked oil, Okay the 4 cylinder diesel leaked flames from catching on fire trying to maintain 110km/h but I was forced to pull over outside Broady to find the engine on fire, No one taught me about EGT's so I found out the easy way.. it was very easy for the flames to take charge as they ate everything, Thanks to the passer-byes who filmed it on fire to post to Snapchat, You helped my Westpac Insurance to make the decision to cover me, Broadford CFA was very quick to respond, I didn't get a chance to grab my phone to call anyone for help.. Wow I was shocked at the power of radiant heat.

@@gqwarrior6694 Mine is 1990 GQ RB30 but it needs some repairs, Fawkner Highway Patrol slapped a white label on the windscreen that fell off instantly 5 times in a row, It was funny watching the bacon repeat the same action of grabbing the notice to push it against the glass and then watch as it falls off within 10 seconds lol.. Only got me for no brake lights (bad earth or broken wire) and tyres were low on tread.
