Memories with grandparents (without patents) can be so formative and give such a sense of lineage. How lucky your girls and parents are to have the opportunity. ❤
Yes, they always have a wonderful time with my parents. My mom and dad really cherish the time with my kids. Living at such a distance (Ohio to Washington) makes visits shorter than we'd like. When my oldest asked me how I'd feel about them spending some time with my folks, I said yes instantly. I was assuming it would be like a 2 week visit. 4-5 weeks isn't as conducive to getting a summer job, but I'm sure they'll figure it out. Definitely, definitely prioritize the month with grandparents over summer jobs. Priceless. If they can’t find a job when they get back, hire them for your channel! Video editing is such a good skill. We don’t mind watching a video with nothing new - the makeup budget for those videos can be re-directed 😊Hope your girls have the best time.
My kids have been asking me to teach them to edit, but they're so busy with school they don't have time after the homework and music practice is done. I'll think about putting them to work this summer when they're back. I don't make enough to recover an entire summer's earnings that my kids would get, but I could certainly help them towards their goals.
I love that my kids want to spend time with my folks. My parents love having the grandkids visit, and it's been a while since the kids have been to Ohio. We haven't traveled a lot in the past 4 years due to the pandemic and my health struggles. I love that my kids want to travel without my husband and I. They'll have a blast! I LOVE Ohio! My kids’ dad is from Sandusky! When we lived in Mayslick, KY, middle of nowhere, I would go up all of the time! His family is in Columbus, Painesville, and Marblehead! Marblehead is one of my favorite places in OH! I finally purchased the BK 101 and love it! I use the 109 for cream blush, love it too! How did you like Nikki’s eye shadow brush? I didn't know anything about Ohio until my parents moved there 16 years ago. Both my folks are native Californians, but moved to the midwest in the early 2000s for my dads job. They've lived in Illinois and Ohio. I've really come to love the midwest. I lived in Michigan for a few years and love the amazingly green terrain. We don't always have that out west. My folks live in a tiny town outside of Dayton. My parents are so excited about the kids coming for a visit. My kids are too!
I got the 109 to use with cream and liquid blush, but I thought I'd try it out for foundation today because I was reaching for a powder blush. I really like the quality of the Nikki La Rose brushes I tried. I would love to get a few more, but the one I want is sold out. (the foundation/powder brush) I thought mentioning that Lisa's stuff was 20% off right now on Space NK was a good idea. I ordered 2 lipsticks. One I've never had before, and one that I need a new one of. I love that lipstick formula. Thanks for watching today!
My favorite new things are Charlotte Tilbury new pink lipsticks (I got 2), Victoria Beckham liner in seafoam green (I just love the color) and Glossier Cloud Paint crem bronzer in Swept (perfect for cool tones), and the Milk KUSH brow shadow stick for easy, quick brows. I am the same about lipstick-I DO NOT NEED MORE!- but I love it so much! And I never thought I'd say I love Charlotte Tilbury lipstick, because she has disappointed me so many times with supposed "cool" colors that turn orange on me, but I love these new pinks, and Candy Chic is the pink I have been looking for forever!
I'm so glad that you've been able to find a CT lipstick shade that you like. I love her formulas, but it's been a while since I've "needed" a new color. I nearly picked up Pillow Talk Light, but I have so many pinky nude shades, I couldn't possibly use another one.
I've been eyeing the more colorful VBB eyeliners. They look so pretty. I might need to pick up a different shade. I have the one in fig, but it's very neutral in tone. It doesn't always read as a purple liner. Thanks so much for watching today.
How wonderful your girls are going for a month to spend part of the summer with your parents , what wonderful memories they will have forever. I totally agree with setting goals and letting them work to get what they want/need. They will one day appreciate it and take care of the things they worked for, that’s how I am. Nowadays especially where I live these kids don’t know what it’s like to work for what they want. They get everything from their parents, heck most of them drive expensive cars. It’s sad to see that life is not like that in the real world. I just got that RMS bronzer in Tan lines and I’m really liking it. oh I need that Clarins pen, never seen that. Praying your doing well and were able to get help with your pain.🙏🏻💖

I grew up with my parents giving me wonderful opportunities, but I had to work a lot. I appreciate that now, and want to teach my kids delayed gratification as well as the joy that comes with finally getting something you worked really hard for. I've got amazing kids, and I want them to have that time with their grandparents. I also want them to find a way to achieve the goals they set for themselves.
I'm glad that you're liking the RMS bronzer. This Clarins 3 dot liner is really great. I like how it fills in the gaps in my lash line. It makes such a difference, but it doesn't look like liner. I'm very impressed. Have a wonderful rest of the week, and thanks for watching.
Enjoy these summer struggles with your kids, as stressed as I used to be during off school times, I miss it now that they are grown. 😢but I get together with my girlies and we do our own back to school shopping but for us adults since we neglected ourselves for 18 years with kids. Haha haha 😂
I do enjoy the summers with my kids, and I know there aren't many left. In 2 years I'll have a college student. In 4 years we'll be empty nesters. I don't know where the time went. I loved spending the entire summers with my grandparents lol!!! I went shopping g the other day in ULTA and Sephora and picked up the new Smashbox blush pallets in pink saturation and the peachy one back to cali they are really pretty!!! The bronzers are perfect shades too I was surprised! They were on sale for like $27 I had been eyeing them for a while 🤣 and was surprised to find that the Rabanne lip products are incredible… drama lips glossy lipstick are sooooooo nice it’s like a balm lipstick that’s kinda glossy if u can find a good shade they are beautiful (similar to Kosas Wet sticks but more pigment) so comfy and nourishing feeling I’m thinking about getting the matte ones too are hydrating feeling too and the lovebalm I love soul kiss I’ve had it for a while it’s so nice on my lips Hopi g they come out with more neutral shades for me … lol I really wanted the Nikki brushes but they are always sold out I can always count on NARS light reflecting foundation and the Lancome foundation stick to last all day long and be beautiful! I need to get a sample of double wear I returned all the Prada stuff it was just weird on my skin for some reason 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
I loved spending summers with my grandparents too. I'm excited that my kids will have that time with my parents, but my 16 year old needs $2,000 for her DC trip by the time school starts. I already gave her the money for the down payment, but I don't know where she's going to get the bulk of the money needed for the trip by the time school starts. I'll give her a bit more, but . . .
I haven't been pulled in by any Smashbox in a long time. I didn't love the viral foundation they released last year, and since then, I haven't been interested. I'm glad that the palettes are working for you.

Oh yeah you definitely need to swatch the Rabanne the shades are pretty loud for me I got the neutral beige shades they are perfect lol I’m so glad u love the HaruHaru wonder I got the kiss me mommy and some various skinaquas for summer they are water resistant love the P.calm Water Barrier with ceramides sensitive skin friendly … hope they get their monies I remember going g to dc when I was in 5th grade we took the Amtrak train lol it’s super for yall across the whole country
I totally agree with the summer job thing - and my girls did the same when in HHS. Time with the grandparents is special though, and summers like that will be sooooo limited. ❤As far as brishes. I am a surrat and Sonia G girlie 😂
I haven't tried any surrat brushes, but I love my sonia G. My kids are looking forward to spending time with my parents this summer, but I know they'll want to quickly find a job when they're back home. They're really trying to reach their goals. I will help them both with that, but I need them to work for a significant portion of what they're wanting. I want them to learn to set a goal, work hard for it, and then appreciate it when they finally can do it/buy it. I'm still teaching them delayed gratification.

@@thelipstickgal The Surrat brushes are amazing, but Sonia G are my top :) I did the same for my girls. I wanted them to learn the value of what they have, and what they earn so they were old enough I made them work for 50z% of the time - at least :)
I agree about a summer job. My son is 34 now. He started going to work with Dad when he was 13. He worked part-time through high school. It taught him so much. I won't fly either. I have never been an a plane. My husband wishes I would. I have driven from coast to coast. I absolutely suck with a brow pen. Great tools absolutely count with eyeshadow. When I want a stellar eyeshadow look, i reach for a Natasha Denona palette. I am still obsessed with Denessa Myricks Light Work V. It is so much fun. Have a great week ❌️ ⭕️

My 14 year old has stolen my Light Work V palette. She loves the multichromes so much. I haven't seen it in over a month. I might have to rescue it from her room.
I really want the kids to start contributing to their goals. (especially things like tech and travel) I take better care of things when I know how long it took me to be able to purchase them. I also want my kids to normalize delayed gratification.
I love good makeup brushes. I have so many great ones! These new ones from BK Beauty are amazing.
My mom will travel by plane, but only when she has a companion. My dad won't be able to take as much time away from home as my mom will. He's flying in in late May, but my mom is arriving before then, so she drives.

@@lisasmith7 Yeah, I know flying isn't for everyone. My mom won't do it alone, and always need my dad, or my brother or I to be there with her. There are other things that scare me enough to avoid them at all costs, but I won't mention them. : )
