He truly believes it - and I wish people realized how easy it is to get into a paranoid mindset. Because that's all this is - paranoia. And when people deny him, of course he becomes more defensive, subconsciously.
If you listen to a recording of anything like that long enough, you will start hearing things. The more time and effort you invest into investigating, the more the brain will become convinced there's something there worth investigating. The same phenomena occurs when people listen static in a radio broadcast and begin to hear intelligible phrases during ghost hunts, or when people see faces in the dark that are actually just normal shapes. The brain has a wonderful ability to evoke meaning from random signals, because it helps us communicate and understand things. But we need to recognize as a society that this mechanism can go wrong, and when it does, you can't tell the person to simply get over it - It's what they believe.
Is he being ridiculous? Absolutely. But it takes more effort to deny and/or take responsibility for all of these horrible accusations than it does to continue obsessing over them. It's like an addiction at that point. Hopefully people can watch this and learn a little more about tempering their own paranoia.

Seems to me that this guy needs serious psychological help as soon as possible!
I don’t think that this is his ‘normal’ behavior or true personality.
I actually think that he is a very kind and thoughtful man IN NORMAL SITUATIONS.
But something has pushed him over the edge of sanity.
Maybe some illness or infection in his blood (or even in his brain), maybe he has been under extreme stress for a long time or maybe there is some other sort of ‘trigger’ like a trauma, accident, being victim of a crime and so on….
He cannot help himself at this point, it simply is not possible to stop this paranoia NOR the semi-aggressive language he utters.
You can tell that that is NOT the normal ‘Lingo’ he speaks. It’s too unnatural to ‘belong’ to this guy.
But if this is indeed the case, it is going to be one of the worst reasons for his weird behavior.
Because the same thing that has set off his brain into this destructive thinking process will make him completely uncooperative into finding the solution and/or treatment.
Guaranteed that this paranoia will intensely fight against any form of checkup or medical examination and the same thought process that refuses to trust his wife, will then call testing of any kind a ‘set up’ or ‘trap’ and since he can’t be examined by a psychologist or whatever, he will keep his rights to deny cooperating on that very subject.
One of the bigger ‘Catch 22’ that exits.
I don’t see any positive solution to this situation, other then him going even crazier until he has a full-size breakdown.
Maybe thén he will (or must) accept the help he desperately needs…..
