Indian Airforce is one of the most professional Afs of the world. Can't wait to see it flying several hundreds of Tejas' mk1 and mk2 in same strength as the USAF flies their Vipers.
It would be even better once the Medium category gap gets fulfilled (mostly by Rafales).
We must go for atleast two more squadrons of Rafael! Then use tejas Mk1A or Mk2 for Mig-21s replacement

1. Once an USAF F-16 was nearly shot by its own patriot defense system but it succesfully dodged. In another case patriot took down U.S Navy FA-18
2. U.S Navy FA-18 fired gun on its own cavalry vehicle, killing army personnels
3. US Apache shot hell fire over its own cavalry vehicle

Now everyone will understand why Su30s in the air didn't intercept the incoming threat as the real target was Brigade headquarters and the SU30s were guarding the same. Also, this shows the maturity and professionalism of the IAF and its pilots. Every pilot knew their role very well and didn't try to jump their roles without exact orders to do so from their superiors.

Good detailed info. However, two things are still unclear:
1. Brigade HQ - Did they think India's Brigade HQ was a sitting duck? Ofcourse there would be IAF, and possibility of engagement with collateral damage. Felt like they saw Su 30s and pushed back by Migs even though they had such high numerical superiority.
2. India's Retaliation - Image if they had bombed India's Brigade HQ and it had caused signifiant casualities. In this scenario did they think that India won't retaliate? They were well aware that in that scenario India would detroy all of their Brigade HQs along LOC as well as other important targets.
Dots are not connecting.
I feel they knew about all the possbilities and didn't want to let things spiral out. They have webbed all the lies and stories to give confidence to their own people.
They DIDN'T have and DON'T have nerve to engage in direct military conflict with India. Paseene Chuteinge, Pair Kaampeinge.
Millitary Conflict is a very serious thing. Even China, at this point, can''t afford to directly engage with India.
We saw that IAF was in severe numerical disadvantage, they just wanted our pilots to panic and use BVR of SU 30, then with 12:2 ratio, SU 30 would have no chance in dogfight
Then they would definitely have struck the defence HQ, and threatened us with nuclear response if our air force decided to retaliate, then for sure US would have intervened and would have pressurized us not to retaliate
And if I say with neutrality, if it comes to conventional power, we can easily defeat Pakistan but can only defend against China for some weeks, why? We may have better fighters except Chinese J20 and SU 35 , but they are all different models hence a logistical nightmare, plus our systems are not integrated, remember our Israeli air defence shot down our Russian MI 17,NATO and Russian equipment cannot be integrated, thus we had to buy S400 and develop our MRSAM which would not target Russian radar signatures
once these are available and once we have enough fighters of one model like Tejas mk 1a and mk2, you will see Chinese won't dare to do another Galwan
And nobody wins a nuclear fight
There are three signals that India was, at that time, ready to Punish Pakistan through any level of escalation:
1. India did activate Prithvi Missile batteries in Rajasthan sector on that night
2. RAW Chief's direct and blunt warnings to Pakistani counterpart
3. Pakistan MPs open Admission about potential attack from India that night
Pakistan establishment already knew what will come if they cause any direct casualities in India (Previous casualities was through Terrorists).
Reality is they were far better than us in Propaganda and Narrative building at that time. More than some millitary conflict this seems like a story of narratives and lies when we try to understand what dramas their defense establishment did in Pakistan.
You guys can't even take defeat like real men. This is coming from someone who isn't a nationalist and knows the Pak army didn't win a single war against India. Brigade headquarters wasn't the target of our airforce, they wanted to hit inside your territory and they did that in broad daylight, unlike you who struck in the middle of the night. And you couldn't do shit about it, your communication was jammed by us, you lost a jet, its pilot was captured and beaten to a pulp by the locals, you shot your own helicopter mistaking it for one of our jets and killed everyone on board. It was all calculated by PAF, IAF just wasn't prepared.
PAF bombed empty spaces deliberatly on multiple high level millitary targets , Incluing brigade HQ and amunition center .one must be stupid that they missed all these 3-5 targets ...really?? Infact the one who who shot downed its own chopper is clearly incometent one here ....not the one who shot down a mig21

One must be stupid to think PAF wanted to destroy brigade HQ and also other military targets which means total war ....
Even if india had actually killed 300 of pakistanis it not enough to think pakistan was ready to start a full fledge war..bcz destroying these military targets meant full fledge war between these two nuclear nations ...
Most importatly why would pakistan wanted to do this(detroy high level millitary targets )and take the blame of starting war??? bcz the narrative of pakistan was that No one in pakistan is hurt from indian air strike ...and no damage is done ...so destroying all these target meant that Pakistan started an all out war in response of just an air space voilation from IAF??
And keep in mind india was not admitting any of its plane being shot down untill pakistan showed abhinandan live and india did not admitted of shooting down its own choper for a long time when Pakistan had break this news right on the day of this incident ....
So if u r wise enough and not a blind patriotic you will know who's the lier here ....If they lied you about choper ...means they lied about everything
And about numerical disadvantage of IAF?? Well first of all I dont know if its true ....if it is the case then dont you think it also shows the incompetence of IAF To not deploy enough planes against an enemy who have less air power?? It was not a surprise attack by PAF , India had conducted air strike and Pakistan ISPR official Had warned india live infront of whole world that "surprise will come"
Both the forces were alert, things were tense ...just like in past IAF had more air power...PAF planes came in broad day light into indian side ....and here you are telling us that IAF had not deployed more planes despite having 3x more air power available then the enemy in this hot situation??? REALY ??
So the 4th largest millitary forgot to deploy its planes against a 3x smaller millitary that too in war like scenario??

I always thought why our Su30 have not fire R77 but AD you have explained it in very detail why they didn't. Great job by our pilots. But We should have scrambled more aircraft in sooner.

1. Our ADs shot down our own Chopper. Whatever may be the reason as FOF switched off or else. But it's a dent on our professionalism.
2. At that time of High Alert when we were expecting retaliation why our AWACS vacated the air space and moved eastwards.
3. Being professionals IAF should have been well prepared with our adversaries Teactics & Weapons load. But we actually lagged in BVR at that time. I wonder why - AWACS & BVR tech not incorporated on time and waited for this moment.
And sending mig 21 to intercept f16 beside having 272 su30 66 mi 29 and 44 mirrage 2000 and deploying just few aircrafts at time of highest alertness
@Fahad Nazir Mig 21 was in air. So it intercepted F16s. Also, the Su30s in air were at very low Altitude and hence, they would have taken time to gain Altitude and respond. Moreover, the 2 Su30s in air when started to climb in retaliation, the PAF was forced to retreat

Sir, if radars cannot work in high hilly areas ,why cannot use satellite tech for this ?
My question is, why we didn't or couldn't overwhelm PAF's attack formations. I mean, we could have had very high numbers of Aircraft in CAP/Alert state and could that have stopped PAF to even come closer to LOC? It's just a thought and a question..... Our response was still very much power packed but I am just curious about numbers of our own airborne fighters.
Firstly iaf main work hourse su30 have very low availibility rate then india is very large country with 2 arch rivels on its 2 diff borders and huge coast line so only 1 / 3rd of aircrafts can only be deployed against pak mranwhile whole paf is only deployed againt india and paf uses single engine aircrafts which have much more availiblity rate than dual engine su30 or mig 29

Am a local of naushera and i was clearly seen Pakistani jet . Pak jet initially entered in our area but after backup from AIF they back to their way.
Abinandan fighter crashed near village makri located near loc after ejection from jet ,wind of terrain moves parachute towars pok. Abinandan ejected in indian side of loc but speed of jet so high thae it entired pok unfortunately .

I am not expert but having 2nd gen(upgraded to "2+" gen) as backup doesn't feels right 😞, despite having so much bigger economy and Def Budget.
That too we were not at later stage of war, in which we had to every resource available.
Exactly and most of the people seems ignoring this. We shot down an F-16 only because it was a close range combat and in dog fight pilots' training superceeds the technology superiority. Thanks god we have pilots like WC Abhinandan

@@WiggleDraggy Yes,I think it would have made some difference. There would have been more jets availbale for petrolling leaving some areas to s-400. If s-400 was diployed in Kshmir area then we could have literally shot down dozens of jets, given su-30 intelink with ground stations.

Why were only 2 Su30 MKIs were on CAP? To protect the Brigade Headquarters, there should have been at least 4 MiG-29 UPG complementing the 2 Sukhois.
I think we underestimated the PAF response and took a relaxed view.

But sir I have a question.after entering in POK it is obviously expected that pakistan will try such type of things so why will deploy only 2 SU30 at North 2 SU30 near briged headquarter.why IAF doesn't deploy many more fighter get.If IAF deploy atleast 10 to 15 more SU30 or MIG 29 then we can destroy all there 15 to 18 F16 and some J17 blunder jet also after that Pakistan never ever try to think such type of thing.Pakistan will learner then a very good lesson. If 10-15 F16 jet they lost then Pakistan never try to hide the truth of shoot down of F16 then they will face a major pressure in world.
