    I have the same exact problem with the Ogden cami - I love it, but it isn’t that comfortable, please make a video on what you find out by sizing up, etc - thank you!

      Yes I definitely will, I'm going to try out another with sizing up and hope that it feels and looks better. It's such an odd shape on me 😅 xx

    About the fit issue with the Ogden Cami… you may need to cut the back piece out a size larger at the bust level. I have a broad back and have to do this sometimes.

      Thank you so much Charlotte! I have thought of this in the past, then it completely slips my mind! I will give it a try next time 🙏💕

    So glad you had a lovely holiday, you definitely had a fab holiday wardrobe to take with you. Love everything you made, especially your new look dress and tour Audrey top! I have the same issue at the back of the new look jumpsuit....I always have to bring it in at the top where the zip is. Xx

      Thank you Karen! Love to see your comments! 🤩 It's so lovely to have me made clothes to take away on holiday. I am planning my next holiday now 😄☀️
      I've heard quite a few people have had the issue with the back bodice on the new look dress. I really hope you had a fabulous holiday 🏖 xx

    Love all of it, as I mentioned on IG for the Grecian backdrop, just perfect. And dear Aunt Anita, never underestimate the value of being a niece to such an aunt ….. she may be too young to know the value of a French seam, totally the makers choice, and you chose her. Namaste

    Great vlog Anita - lovely makes 😍. I just finished making the Stella hoodie and like you I’m so chuffed with it- came together so perfectly and I immediately want to make another!! I’m an Ogden cami fan, but you could try one of the Tammy handmade cami patterns for a better fit for you? x

    • @sewingyogi
      @sewingyogi  2 роки тому

      Thank you Paula! Ooh I do have that pattern by Tammy Handemade, and I've been meaning to get one sewn up - fingers crossed that's a better fit. Yayyy for a Stella hoodie 😍 I'm with you, I want to make another straight away. I'm keeping my eyes out for some nice fabric 😉xx

      I just made the cami by Tammy Handmade and used my measurements they recommended and it was huge - I ended up taking in the sides by inches, but now the straps are too far off my shoulders and is unwearable, so you might want to size down one or two sizes- my measurements are very similar to yours. I did use a double gauze, which tends to sew up larger than a tight woven, so you might want to keep that in mind. Anyhow, I’m going to give it another try- please let us know if you make one - thanks!

      @@mphailey1this is so great to know, thank you for letting me know this about the Etty top. I will mention this in my next vlog, if you don't mind? It's so helpful to know how others find the fit of a pattern. I will check the measurements of the pattern before I cut anything out 🙏 xx

    Hello, new follower here! 👋 Love your makes and I'm going to go back and watch some older videos to catch up!
    Just wanted to say, about the Ogden Cami, I did one, it was lovely to sew up, quick and easy, but the fit on me is terrible! I need a full bust adjustment, its very "sticky outy"! I keep wanting to make the pattern work and chop and change the pattern, but first I'm going to use a cami I already have thats fits nice and draft a pattern from that, see how it turns out, and I've seen a few other cami patterns which I'm going to try first aswell. Everyone seems to love the Ogden, and I feel bad and extremely "wrong" for not liking it as much 😬

      Ah there must be more of us out there that can't get on with the Ogden Cami 🙈 I felt the same as you, and wasn't sure why it didn't feel great to me.
      Have you tried Tammy Handmade's free Etty cami pattern? I'm going to give that a go next time.
      I Hope my other blogs don't disappoint ☺ thank you for watching xx

      @@sewingyogi Thank you for the welcome.
      Yes, I've got Tammy's pattern on my list to try, thank you. And a few more 🤣 hope I have better luck with the other patterns, its a shame because so many seem to like the Ogden. Nice to know there are more of us who it doesn't work for, I was worried it was just me! X

    Hi Anita, great vlog and lovely to see you, as always. I’m so glad you had a lovely holiday and that you were able to fully unwind and enjoy it. I saw your daily posts on Insta and loved your outfits - you looked lovely in all of them. I know what you mean re the Ogden, it’s a lovely pattern, but I struggle to get a good fit too. I tried 2 sizes before I ended up cutting the 3rd between the two sizes I’d tried previously (which worked better). I do think the fit changes depending on the drape of the fabric you’re working with though. I’m going to try cutting my next one on the bias, in the smaller size, which should provide a bit of give, but hopefully won’t gape around the underarm (guess it’s worth a try 😊). I love the dressing gown you made for your niece - I bet she’ll love it too, it’s so beautifully made I’m sure she’ll appreciate the ‘engineering’ behind it 😊. I wish her all the best for her studies and future career too 😊. Isn’t the Stella great? Yours looks lovely. At first I was a bit unsure about the large hood on the pattern - it seemed so oversized - but now I’ve made a couple I’ve got used to it and I really appreciate the fact it has a large hood in the winter. I also made one for a friend in the last selfless sewing challenge and she loves The large hood too 😊. I have another on the cards, which will be teamed with the Good Vibes Joggers from Ellie and Mac for the autumn/winter. Yay! I can finally say I’ve joined the New Look 6446 appreciation society. It’s taken me ages to make that pattern up because my sizing was all over the place on that pattern and I wasn’t sure I’d ever get it to fit as I wanted it to. 😂. After 3 bedsheet toillles 😂 I finally cracked it and I did indeed have to include 3 sizes throughout (4 if you include the fact I changed the legs too). It was totally worth the perseverance though, I am so excited to wear my jumpsuit. I’ve just got to secure the lining of the bodice and finish the trouser hems and then it’s done. Watch out for an insta post soon - I don’t usually post my makes (unless they’re for a challenge) but I’m so pleased to have finally cracked this pattern, I need to celebrate it 💕. I can see many more on the cards - your dress versions are lovely, I’ll have to try that before the summer’s out. ‘Til next time ... Happy sewing lovely 🧵😊🧵

      Thank you Dee, what a lovely message! What a wonderful read - an absolute joy 😊
      Thank you for the kind compliments on my makes 🥰
      I will give the Ogden one more bash and see, if like you, I can get it to work.
      The hoodie, is definitely going to get made again, and I've also had a look at the good vibes joggers pattern you mention 😉
      My Niece loved her robe, said it fit's perfectly so I'm over the moon happy.
      Well done on persevering on new look 6446!!! it sounds like you have really put all your effort into getting a great fit, I can not wait to see it 😀 so pleased you managed to make it work for you, I'm sure many more will be sewn up in the near future 💕💕

    Perhaps only the back of the Ogden Cami needs to be adjusted by adding an inch or so widthwise. I've read other reviews of the Ogden where the reviewer had tight back issues.

    • @sewingyogi
      @sewingyogi  2 роки тому

      Thank you for this! 🙏 It's nice to know I'm not the only one that struggles with this pattern. I will try adding more to the back and seeing if it helps 😘
