It is unbelievable that there are so many different fish. Got creeped out with the Japanese Spider Crabs. brrrrr. Looking forward to part two. Thanks a bunch. Another great edit Jenn.
The aquarium was so cool! The fish were gorgeous! Some of them were pretty neat looking. I could watch fish all day too Tim. Looking forward to tomorrow's vlog!
Fun Fact: They filmed an episode of Bones at the Aquarium of the Pacific. I love that aquarium though, such a beautiful location too. Loved following your Disneyland Birthday Trip adventures.
Awesome video of the Aquarium Tracker Clan. We have an amazing one here that opened up about 2 years ago in Toronto. Love going to it to see the fish. The one tank you looked at when you first entered, and noticed the video camera actually broadcasts live on a wildlife channel that I browse through every once and a while. They cover a lot of amazing things like the Polar Bear migration in northern Manitoba as well as the great Buffalo herds in the prairies.
I share your excitement for sea creatures. They are all so amazing. Jellyfish are really interesting creatures. There are so many different types. All the colorful creatures were so ascetically pleasing to look at. Sea creatures come in so many different colors. I was hoping to see a sea horse though. Sea dragons do resemble them though, so it's almost there. I love aquariums. I can't wait to see more of this amazing place :)
That aquarium is amazing!!!! I would love to visit there one day....fish are so relaxing! The jellyfish are beautiful but very scary to look at at the same time! Can't get over how clean the aquarium glass is!!! Most times they are so dirty and cloudy that you can hardly see the fish!
+barbara pariso Some of the glass was getting pretty smudged with fingerprints by the end of the day. :-) But they definitely do a good job of keeping the glass clean!
I really enjoyed this vlog! That one huge jellyfish tank with bright blue water reminded me of the finding nemo scene where they were swimming through the jellyfish :) too cool
Most aquariums have waves in each tank. But in the other aquariums, their tanks are filled up higher, so from a glass view, you can hardly see the waves and most people don't notice them. But from above, there are wave machine type things. I went backstage of the aquarium at SeaWorld and I saw how it works from above.
The Long Beach Aquarium and the Monterey Bay Aquarium are my two favorite places in California besides DLR. The two aquariums fueled my passion for marine biology and wanting to work with sea otters when I was younger. But it definitely foster a lifelong passion for animal conservation. Also sea lions are known as dogs of the sea!
+Rebecca Li Awesome! Next time we go out there we will have to see about going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium... unless it's really far away from Disneyland... it's really far away isn't it?
You guys are so awesome. I always look forward to watch your videos. They just make me happy. And I laugh a lot when I watch them. I'm on the April 2010 vlogs and love them too. Keep doing what your doing. And I'll defiantly will be a subscriber for life.
Aquarium of the Pacific is gorgeous. I haven't been there in years but this really inspires me to want to go back soon. Although its a bummer that you didn't get to go to Knott's, this seemed like a great alternative. I really hope you get to visit Knott's the next time you visit California!
+DaniDipps Not to worry, we will be heading back to California and going to Knotts! Plus we have to go back to Hogsmeade and see our witches and wizard friends. :-)
The fish around 12:44 mins is a mandarin goby I have a pair in my reef tank real fun to watch have quite unique personality. Also the blue tang is a regal blue tang :) like you I could watch fish all day lovely video thanks
And when the Hawaii tank comes up, I could identify most of everything. Woohoo! I go to college in Hawaii and getting ready for a field school, which one of the qualifications is to get a 80% on a species ID test.
Love the Aquarium of the Pacific, we visited so many times when I was a kid (also Monterey Bay Aquarium which would have been way too long a drive for you guys). You guys should get a fish tank! You can keep cherry shrimp species fairly easily and they're super cute.
The white part of the jellyfish are also tentacle but that's what they use to pull up their food to their "mouths" the stringy ones are just used to sting their prey. Jellyfish can't sting each other because they have a sort of "immunity" to getting stung by other jellies. The sort of same thing exists for Clown Fish and Sea Anemones. Clown fish are sort of "immune" to the stinging of sea anemones. 😊
oh my goodness seals and otters are so stinking adorable *-* I'm all for looking at fish, but the jellyfish, octopus and crab like creatures make my skin crawl. They're so scary looking! >.< I'd gladly take an encounter with a bear rather than one of those giant spider crab things.
If you ever want to see an incredible aquarium not too far from Orlando, head up to Atlanta for the now #2 (was #1 ranked for a very long time) largest aquarium in the world. Can also visit the Coca-cola factory, CNN headquarters, etc for a very low price.
Tim did you guys know that where you guys were staying was a breakfast place can't recall the name but it's a character meat and great type deal and the make the best omelettes there used to go there all the time and a another great video;)
Did you guys fly into LAX? And how did you travel from airport to Disney, universal, etc? Considering a trip to Disneyland and my husband is most concerned about traffic and transportation. Thanks
+Sherrie Green We did fly into LAX, we used Super Shuttle to get from the airport to the hotel. It takes 45 mins to an hour depending on traffic. The traffic the morning we left was pretty bad and we cut it pretty close getting to the airport but still made it.
When you left, the paper ran this story, "The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is embarking on a $53-million expansion by adding a wing with architectural lines evoking the shape of a blue whale and featuring an “immersive theater” with a high-definition projection system and 130-foot-long, 180-degree curved screen designed to simulate ocean and coastal environments."
Ohmygod that otter is the cutest thing ever. I could stay in the aquarium watching fish all day, too. It's so mesmerizing.
+xoleeleen That is totally what I would do too!!!
I'm just like you Tim! I could sit and watch fish all day, It is so relaxing and fish are so beautiful.

+anima09 But my day could've totally gone on without those giant Japanese spider crabs. Those are my straight-up nightmare.
It is unbelievable that there are so many different fish. Got creeped out with the Japanese Spider Crabs. brrrrr. Looking forward to part two. Thanks a bunch. Another great edit Jenn.

We absolutely loved Paradise Pier when we stayed there in 2014!! But Grand Californian was by far our favorite :)
+Andrea Janowiak We will probably stay at Paradise Pier the next time we go so we can see what it's like to stay at all of them. :-)
Fun Fact: They filmed an episode of Bones at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
I love that aquarium though, such a beautiful location too. Loved following your Disneyland Birthday Trip adventures.

I use to live right down the street from the aquarium of the pacific in long beach thanks for the memories :)
