The thing he lifted is a hindu God "shiva linga" And its a ritual that you have to drop water repeatedly in it to please him, so in order to save his mothers health not to do such heavy task, he lifted it and placed under the waterfall ,as now it gets water all time, it feels goosebumps to watch him doing this... it's a Hindu ritual to offer water on the Shivlingam which he's carrying on his shoulders, so the context was his mother used to bring water from the waterfall n offered it to the Shivalingam but she got hurt sometimes doing that. So Bahubali(the lead actor) decides to take Shivalingam at a point where the water can be offered to it continously. That's what the whole song is about. Sanskrit slokas in the song is taken from a powerful mantra called shiva tandav stotram which was written king of demons Ravana for the mahadev who is the God of the gods who is basically the being of end and the beginning Lord Shiva

The most part of the song is actually an ancient hymn known as ' shiva tandava strotram ' or ' the dance of shiva 'dedicated to lord Shiva , it was composed by ravana ,the antagonist of the epic Ramayana
It is a ritual in indian culture to offer water to the shivlinga which he was carrying. In this movie his mother had to face many difficulties to fetch water and offer it to the Shivlinga, hence the protagonist placed that Shivlinga under a waterfall, so that the Shivlinga can get the water continuously.
