I have a defiant Castle deadbolt, the one with a flat keypad. I believed the batteries were about dead and so I changed them. When I put the final battery in there is a long tone and then a short one, but it seems as if nothing else works. pushing the set button yields no sound.
Yes you can just reset to the factory settings and then create new master and users codes. I do not have a video on how to reset back to factory settings, but I am sure there are some on the platform that can guide you.
@@allaboutlocksandkeysexpert6076 I don’t know why I followed your guide , I put the button, the door locked. But I input the code the door not unlock, pls
@@tringuyen3112 Its difficult to say. There can be many reason why this can happen. It can be the lock it self, the batteries, the installation was done incorrectly or the code was set not the right way. However, you can try to do reset and se if it helps. The reset button is in the back under the metal cover. If you still have the instruction from the factory, it has drawings on how the reset button looks and where to find one.
I would try the process again. Maybe something was missed. If still same issue, check if your delete code is the same as I have on the video. Maybe the brand or model is not the same.
Bro, I feel you! I’ve burned over an hour on like 5 of these dumb videos. I just need one that’s like “reset the whole dumb luck and start from scratch like this: _____”
The master code is created by you and if you don’t know the master code you can do complete reset to the lock and start everything as it’s a new lock. The default master code is on the back of the lock (battery cover box has a sticker with all the default codes and instructions)
Thank you for making the video so simple to understand and follow !
Helpful. Thank you for explaining it easily
The best instructions by far! Thank you so much!
This was so helpful and you made it so simple & easy!!! Thank you, you just gained a new follower
Only video that helped me
I have a lock like the one in the video, but this one doesn't have a “set” button. Do you know how to program this type of lock?

Seems like it’s been reset to the factory settings. Did you try to follow the set up instructions as it’s completely new lock ?
Very helpful- thank you.
Thank you for this video! 🙏🏼
Just following you ong we had difficulty changing locks in our new home
Thank you dearly
Can you delete user codes that you don't know?

I forgot the new master code 😢 what can I do?
The code that I delete somehow still can open the door

Mine didn't do the same thing so I took a hammer and smashed the POS
Lol 😆 this is a good one!
