I hope you all enjoyed this one, even though it was somewhat brief. I’ve seen pics of people who’ve been in winter when the lake is frozen and walking over the ice to the lake. It always looks amazing. To quote The Grand Tour when they went: “My eyes have indigestion.”
Loved your video from lake bled, We're going in early December, can i ask are the view points around the lake that you found well sign posted? Also did you need a special license for the drone? Thanks again, loved the videos and now subscribed. Cheers Simon (Sunderland)
@@simonwoodley9416 hi mate, nice to hear from you. I think this is the Google maps location of the viewpoint, it should be easy enough to follow. It’s quite a steep walk up but it’s pretty accessible still: maps.app.goo.gl/3gjQVD7G8tyUnoEv9?g_st=ic Regarding the drone.. I usually just do whatever and try ride my luck!
Hi Ben You were up early but once again you managed to miss hordes of people so well done. I had wondered about the ability to be in the moment when you are filming so much (including the sublime drone views). That takes a lot of focus and energy but the result shows in all your work. Don’t stop doing what you are doing. Live in the moment. Enjoy every day. Cheers from Dubrovnik Zoltán
It always makes it that bit more special when there aren't so many people Zoltán. The lake was SO peaceful in the morning, in fact next time maybe I'll swim over to the island in the morning next time! Yep, it's quite difficult sometimes, especially with such perfectionistic tendencies and trying to get things 'right' It's something I'm still figuring out, but also can mean that videos such as this are a little more brief, as I'm trying to enjoy the experience myself too! Nice to hear from you again, From Newcastle 👋😁
@@BenRobson123 hi Ben. In my past life (pre pandemic) I was a psychiatrist. I’d worked in the profession 25 years (I’m now 55 years old by the way). I totally understand being obsessional and trying to be perfectionist. Let me reiterate that you are such a natural in front of the camera. Your recording/ videos are superb. It’s way more than just a good camera. I know that from my own experience. I still only have my iPhone camera (long story re cameras another time). When I’m connected to my camera, it feels as if the rest of the world around me ceases to exist. I enter a “zone”. I can be surrounded by people in a large city but there can be something about the light intensity, or the angle of some building, or a butterfly on a rose that I’m drawn to. What I’m trying to say is that you gradually try to accept the concept of being “good enough”. You only need to answer to yourself. (I understand if you are dependent on YT for a source of income stream) but just BE who you are. It’s when you’re trying to become something or someone that you’re not that you’re less likely to succeed. If it feels “forced” then it’s likely not “right” (for you). Apologies for all the parentheses and brackets (you can almost picture me talking with my hands). I’ve never been to Newcastle upon Tyne (but many, many times to the Newcastle north of Sydney in NSW, Australia where I used to do consulting work) Hope you’re having a pleasant autumn (thankfully it arrived here as well after a long hot and humid summer season). Until next time Zoltán
Thank you Zoltán, you're right. It's something I'm trying to get better at, but of course comes with time. Sometimes it is easy to lose your way a little, and lose grasp of authenticity and direction. Thank you for the reminder :)
Hi Ben, Lake Bled is sure a stunning place. The crystal clear Blue water is really amazing along with the church and castle shadows in the water. Was hoping you would have shown the Island up close with the little Church. I guess there are boats that run all day long between the mainland and the Island. Glad that you got some nice drone shots of the Island anyway. Looks like it was an exciting and exhilarating ride down on the ride. It would be hard to describe without the footage.
The water is a similar colour to Plitvice, because of the limestone I think (among other factors such as sunlight, mineral content and organisms in the water from what I remember). I know, I would have liked to explored the place more, we perhaps should have gone on there first thing. But it was also nice to slow down a bit and feel pressure to do everything. A place to return to one day for sure 😄 Thanks as always for the comment Ben, the toboggan was amazing!
I'm a bit of a contrarian on Lake Bled. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely pretty, but I consider it a 7 out of 10 place in a country full of 8 to 10 out of 10 places. I rate Bohinj, the Logar Valley, the Soča Valley, and Postojna Caves all higher than Bled.
Interesting to know, I plan on exploring Slovenia more properly next year out of season with a hire car. Though I still think Lake Bled is an incredible spot, but it makes a difference when you can enjoy it without the crowds. Thanks for the comment Stephen
Im from village near lake Bled All area around Lake Bled is amazingly beautiful But Lake Bled and everything around is becoming tourist trap to expensive and whole place lost the charm

😆 that's one way to put it! That does sound pretty cool to see it when it's all frozen over. Hope you're enjoying Romania mate

Wow wow variy butipull tank for u ....❤❤❤❤❤
Additional note - that ride at the end is insane. You’re very brave.
Ha it was very fun. It was my friend who told me about it, I went round faster the 2nd time. A memory for a lifetime for sure!
The ending looks mint 😂😂😂
Was so much fun 😂
I recomend u to go to the lake bohinj too its beautiful too!
I heard, for next time!😁
And you didn't even visit the Bled Vintgar (steep river canyon), or the castle. And Bohin is lovely, too. Definitely worth a visit. All of it.
Nope, unfortunately we never really had time. Next time definitely!
I went to Lake Bled for 2 nights over Christmas day and it was wonderful . Very lucky to have winter sun. A very beautiful place
Oooh Christmas sounds lovely there!
How did you get permission to drone there in the national park ?

Lake Bled is nice.Slovenia has far better places and more scenic places in the Country than Bled.
Im from village near lake Bled All area around Lake Bled is amazingly beautiful But Lake Bled and everything around is becoming tourist trap to expensive and whole place lost the charm
Yeah it is a shame the prettiest places become flooded with people. I did love it early in the morning though, when there was hardly anyone around
Bohinj is better, more clear and clean water, quiter, less tourists, more nature.
So I’ve heard! I think I will have to add it to the list for my next Slovenia trip
