@bunybooo From my understanding- and keep in mind I'm not exactly a sage- the Sinners, people like Angel Dust, and most regular denizens of Hell, are doomed to come back to life and continue the torment of living there, unless they're killed by an Exorcist? Those being the black and white angels like the one guarding Adam in episode 1. And aside from them all are Hell's more powerful entities, like Alastor, Vox, Lucifer himself, and even Charlie despite her inexperience and unwillingness to leverage her power, all operate on different rules that would predumably be revealed as and when on an individual basis. In Episode 1, the angel guarding Adam implies that the Morningstar family and perhaps some of their friends and associates, are off-limits for being attacked by Excoricsts. That's probably some order from Big G himself so that his creations don't go killing his fallen angel and what not, I'm left to assume. That's the extent of my understanding of it.
I thought it was alright but Episode 4 really did grab my attention and potentially saved the show for me. My one big issue with the show is I still don't know how death works in this universe. The angels are said to make an annual trip to hell to kill demons but they seem to be doing that fine themselves. Are the results different when an angel kills a demon vs when a demon kills another demon or themselves? Are they reincarnated back into hell or do they just no longer exist? If you can die in hell, then what's even the point of an afterlife if it isn't eternal? In Vivzie's hell, someone could feasibly die, wake up in hell, and then kill themselves to avoid any further pain. I do hope they expand upon these themes as the show goes on and with the development of the last couple of episodes, that's not totally out of the question.
Basically, sinners will not die when killed, they respawn eventually as part of their punishment unless killed by a holy item. But with this there's overpopulation in hell. I do like Helluva Boss more, but Hazbin Hotel has its pros and cons… as of right now I feel like it’s going WAY too fast with where it is. Feels like we’re in season 2 already with how the characters are acting. I hope they slow down a little because I only liked the 4th episode.
You can definitely tell that the Spindle folks are scared of the show getting cancelled too fast, so they're trying to resolve every character arch, every conflict and every mystery as fast as possible.
It's below slop, respect the hustle but I'd take biweekly uploads over these nothingburgers. The susanslop money should go to getting out of Birmingham instead of weird porn.
I don’t think he realises that everybody in the show is supposed to be a terrible person. Like their in hell for being terrible people. (And yes this apply’s to the angels that swear) The swearing isn’t supposed to be impactful it’s a quirk of the show
@@EvanMcShepherd "Your honor, lets go over the fact that the series is long, and you'd have to withstand probably many cringe scenes, so, your honor, it was infact, not funny, I push to sieze his property"
@@falconoflife889For sure, a whole lot of people talk like that. I talk like that. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if Angel Dust talked like that. But when most of the people in the world seem to talk like that, it comes across as very uncanny and immature because A Lot Of People Do Not Talk Like That, particularly older and/or more serious people. It feels like a high schooler wrote a lot of the dialogue, because it's how a high schooler who's only been exposed to certain social circles might think everyone talked. That's why it comes across as lazy. Most characters don't have a distinct way of speaking (Alastor being an obvious exception). In reality I think Viziepop probably just likes that kind of dialogue, and is fully aware that it's very incongruous with how a lot of people actually talk (moreso than dialogue normally is), but is making the creative choice to use it anyway. I don't think it works, personally - as I said, it comes across as uncanny and immature to me, I find it excessive and it breaks my immersion - but a lot of people like it, especially people like yourself who are surrounded by people who talk like that anyway. Out of curiosity, is the dialogue familiar/comfortable to you, or do you not even think about it, or...?
The thing that bothers me more than anything else, more than the swearing etc, is the pacing. 8 episodes are clearly not enough and you can't really get to know these characters. Hazbin Hotel has great moments but no build-up whatsoever. Another thing worth noting is how the show has this attitude towards the viewer like we already know these characters. Sure, many fans have come from the pilot episode, but to anyone who's new, it makes it hard to get into. Not to mention that some things weren't properly explained in the pilot either. If you're like me, and you like good world building, you'll be frustrated and end up asking yourself so many questions that won't get answered. These 2 issues go hand-in-hand, because with more time, you'd be able to get to know these characters more and the world would be explored rather than rushed through to get to the finale.
To the point of the design of the angels - those angel designs are just clothes, meant to mimic the sinner's appearance. According to Viv (creator) they look differentely underneath.
@@thetrollgeincident6243Ever since people saw how Viv reacts to criticism. And how her show (primarily Helluva boss) haven’t really improved (or haven’t improved significantly), some people have just decided to insult her in almost every way possible. So far I have really enjoyed it. I’m aware of it flaws and don’t overlook them and depending on how the next part of the season is it has a potential to be a really great show. The music of the show is really really good and easily the best part. The hate for this show is absolutely unreal honestly, people need to get a life.
I absolutely agree, this show gets so much undeserved hate for no reason, if you hate something that’s okay, but don’t attack people for liking it. The show isn’t even that bad, I think it’s pretty good.
@@igottakirbranger8995I think it mostly comes down to first impressions. For example, since you actually took time to sit down and watch the show, you may like it, but to other people looking from the outside in, it just looks like “LGBT Horny demon who swear a lot, so quirky”
@@DoodleDonkey45 it kinda is at first glance. As I only know of it from this vid, it's not that I think it's bad. I actually like the gay spider story and the overall writing of the show. It's just not my cup of tea, I really respect it but would not watch it. One of my main gripes is that the character design feels fanficcity and I really hate fanfics already
I appreciate its existence, but I don't like it personally. It definitely is very... fanfic-y, from what I've seen at least. And the fact that every character is apparently some sort of gay doesn't help the case of it being fanfic-y.. I do like the gay spider, but that's prolly it. I'm glad the creator was able to get it past the pilot, tho. Amazon picking it up and funding TWO SEASONS is actually just really fucking cool.
@@darkeum9741 I’ve watched both and I haven’t noticed an improvement. The girl opening a bus door, then walking away when a body falls out was pretty funny but the same “oooo daddy fuck me” joke is so shit the first time and hard to watch as it repeats constantly
dude theres definitely some absolute groups of degenerates in the helluva boss series. Its likely also based off the type of hell that a lot of modern god fearing christians believe, where anything that isn't straight sex missionary style, or anyone who makes enough of a fuck up in their life, is "evil" lol.
Jeffrey Dahmer has a "cooking show" reference in the pilot, and ol' Adolph is namechecked early on in Helluva Boss as the kinda folks who get sent below. They're there, but those types of evil are, well, human. The entire idea behind Hazbin is that there's folks who were sent there unfairly, and that even those who deserve punishment, at least some of them also deserve at least a chance at redemption if they truly want it. Alastor flat out says he doesn't personally believe in *either* of these things, but wants to be present just so he can see those who try suffer further in the process, because he revels in sadism. Meanwhile, Helluva Boss focuses a lot more on those who were actually born in Hell (and fallen angels who've been there since it began), and demonstrates that there really are 'levels' of evil, and that all but the worst people have lines they won't cross. If everyone in a series is just cartoonishly terrible, then there's no drama, nobody to root for, and nobody to hate except the whole cast. And that isn't very conducive towards entertaining viewing. Finally, as for the comments on Heaven, well, the brief glimpses of it we've seen indicate that it's only paradise for the most exclusive residents, with cherubs suffering cruel treatment and overwork much as the imps in Hell do, and Earth in this universe is pretty damn messed up as well. But as Charlie muses after meeting Adam, suddenly a lot of this makes more sense. If the first man acts the way he does, what does that say about their Creator?
same lol I don't know anything about this show other than verbalase, I just thought this would be an interesting video to watch- and I am barely keeping up on track Also I was not expecting to see my man Captain Anderson voicing a demon cat bartender thing
I'm not a die-hard fan nor a particular Hazbin Hotel fan - but I've been following Vivzie's development updates and announcements throughout the past years. I generally love animation and hers are very eccentric, her work stands out from many shows I'd seen. The show is very subtle about visualizing violence, i agree, which is an appeal to me - I don't mind gore itself, just physical violence isn't to my liking. Keith David as Husk doesn't make much sense to me, however exceptionally suits Angel for the song in episode 4. And Angel sounds like Moxxie from Helluva boss, i haven't checked if the voice actor is the same person yet, but i think it is. Either way - good for them, they sound and seem capable of doing them both (no Angel sex pun intended/j). I'm not really a fan of musicals, i rarely enjoy them, but that's okay. I don't hate them either, I'm here for the animation and the plot, even if the characters decide to sing their emotions/feelings and lungs out as well. Episode 4 slaps best, got me feeling a lot. I enjoyed it the most even though it was also the hardest to watch, given all of the abuse towards Angel. About the swearing... I think it's an artistic choice because it's supposed to hyperbolize that the plot takes place in hell and nobody pretends they don't belong there. Every character is there for a reason, their lighter or heavier sin(s), either way swearing is kind of a part of our life, so it's present everywhere - which makes heaven no different, they make mistakes too. I'm on the fence about the Lucifer and Lilith's love story - mainly because I've seen Lucifer (the show starring Tom Ellis) and there Lilith is Lucifer's mom and, apparently, God's wife... I have no idea of the Bible's "lore", so i can't really say if either of these shows depict this relationship more accurately. Overall, I'm very pleased and awaiting further developments.
I'm pretty sure Husk's voice not matching his body is intentional as I don't remember where, but I read that most sinners have a part of their body they hate and for Husk it is the fact he is a cat And the voice actors for Moxxie and Angel Dust are completely different people I'm not sure where you are getting them sounding alike from as they do not sound alike at all to me.
not for me but i guess its like getting used to anime. You grow numb to the cringe after hearing someone yell their attack for the thousandth time. but this cringe is built different. This cringe beat my dog.

To answer the question: No. Vivziepop can't do good writing to save her life. It's why Helluva Boss fell off big time. The tone is all over the place, and I can't take the show seriously when that is such a glaring problem. If your "humour" is all swearing and sex jokes then imma pass and that is what Hazbin is all about

It'll be picking it up and dropping it a lot, but I definitely am going to try and give this show a shot. It's just painfully cringey with the amount of swearing and "edginess". Also Angel really makes me uncomfortable and gets too much screen time in the first half of episode 1. Like we get it, you're a pornstar, not every single thing that comes out of your mouth has to give me the desire to crawl into a ball and die. I'm hoping to dear god they tone it down or take away screen time from Angel as the episode/series continues.
Pyro, I doubt you'll ever read this, but when you explained that when people die and go to hell they are stuck in the circle they're put in but the hellborn are free to walk to wherever they want, you unironically introduced more world building into this series that anything either Hazbin or Helluva have established withun the past 4 years, and I've been watching them since the pilot episodes.
I ended up watching the most recent episode with my girlfriend by randomly joining her and heard the bartender guy and it hit me like a truck like "sergeant foley is that you??"

I do like Helluva Boss more, but Hazbin Hotel has its pros and cons… as of right now I feel like it’s going WAY too fast with where it is. Feels like we’re in season 2 already with how the characters are acting. I hope they slow down a little because I only liked the 4th episode.

The swearing thing is a completely understandable gripe. Smiling Friends nailed the appropriate amount for its first season
I don’t think he realises that everybody in the show is supposed to be a terrible person. Like their in hell for being terrible people. (And yes this apply’s to the angels that swear)
The swearing isn’t supposed to be impactful it’s a quirk of the show
Thank you for making the video more immersive pyro. Your room is so bright it looks like you did manage to reach heaven after all. I'm so proud.

It’s pretty good. That’s about it. Nothing ground breaking. It is cool that this is pretty much an indie team.
fun fact: the f-word was used a total of 69 times in the first 4 episodes. my friends and i literally kept track

I have learned so much about these two shows without actually ever watching any episodes of Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss
On the swearing part i would honestly say the problem is that it comes off as lazy.
People dont talk like that, it just sounds uncanny and immature.
Im not sure about the people you know but pretty much everyone I know talks like that, its just part of live to use expletives excessively

A. The same problem with Helluva Boss.

Funny how keith David played spawn a Demond slayer now he’s playing a cat Demond thing 💀
I was just not expecting to see my man Captain Anderson in a video about a show I never watched
Nah she just forgot and is coping.
@@UmbraBorealis Where did you get that idea. Im curioua

Hazbin hotel seems promising at least but Helluva Boss is just a mess at the moment.
the humour of hazbin hotel is veeeeery hit or miss, on one end, the visual comedy is quite good. the dialogue on the other hand? it genuinely hurts me
Idk if you watched the pilot but if not you should. Maybe this is just me but I think it's way better than the show and the dialogue is better.
@@darkeum9741 I’ve watched both and I haven’t noticed an improvement. The girl opening a bus door, then walking away when a body falls out was pretty funny but the same “oooo daddy fuck me” joke is so shit the first time and hard to watch as it repeats constantly
Very true
@@outlawthesecond7597 I understand that. Vivziepop has a certain style. Helluva Boss is also pretty similar in the writing.
>Cartoon set in hell
>No Nazis
>LGBTQ+ people everywhere
What did Vivziepop mean by this?
dude theres definitely some absolute groups of degenerates in the helluva boss series. Its likely also based off the type of hell that a lot of modern god fearing christians believe, where anything that isn't straight sex missionary style, or anyone who makes enough of a fuck up in their life, is "evil" lol.
that maybe the characters got sent to hell for something completely unrelated to their sexuality & that nazis wouldn't make for enjoyable characters?
I guess it's clearly christian hell 😂
Jesse what the fuck are you talking about

I'm pretty sure Husk's voice not matching his body is intentional as I don't remember where, but I read that most sinners have a part of their body they hate and for Husk it is the fact he is a cat
And the voice actors for Moxxie and Angel Dust are completely different people I'm not sure where you are getting them sounding alike from as they do not sound alike at all to me.
Lilith isint in the Bible at all

Pyro, I doubt you'll ever read this, but when you explained that when people die and go to hell they are stuck in the circle they're put in but the hellborn are free to walk to wherever they want, you unironically introduced more world building into this series that anything either Hazbin or Helluva have established withun the past 4 years, and I've been watching them since the pilot episodes.
