"justified by faith" not "saved by faith" => We are saved BY GRACE through faith and "it is the gift of God" :) read it carefully! gift is not something u earned. It's something someone freely want to give it to u without u trade it or work for it. if u trade it, it's not a gift :) basic logic!

what do this verses mean if you dont have to have works for salvation?
      James 2:14-26
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

We are saved by grace through faith. "For by grace are ye saved through faith ; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: ( Ephesians 2:8 KJV ) a gift is given freely and not earned or it would no longer a gift but would become a work that we must do to earn it and keep it".

@GhostYou would be correct if that gift was not provided so you too could walk in and accept that gift that is freely given to all. The only repentance needed is to turn away from unbelief and to turn to God and believe the gospel by faith. You are using an prime example of how one would get into heaven by adding a repentance of wrongdoing other than faith alone which you believe is needed to be done to make one acceptable to God first in order to receive that gift. When we accept Jesus Christ by faith, we receive that gift.

The thief on the cross repented of his sins. Do you think that if he had been allowed to live he would have gone back to his thieving and evil ways after knowing Jesus? Of course not. That would be trampling the blood of Jesus underfoot.
What did Jesus say to the woman caught in adultery? He said "Go and sin no more"
Jesus warned against the eternal consequences of unrepentant sin many times. Don't confuse sin with works of the law like circumcision, rituals, baptism, church attendance. Without repentance of sin there is no salvation.

Honest Question: Are you just making a semantic point here? When Christians say, "by faith alone" - what we are saying is by God's grace through faith in who Jesus is and what He has done for us ... that salvation is not of works, but by grace alone received by faith alone, apart from our works. Do you believe we have to maintain works in order to remain saved? Or are you saying that works are required for salvation in conjunction with faith?

    • @StreamingTruth
      @StreamingTruth 7 років тому +14

No church can save you either way. It is Jesus Christ's shed blood that saves through His atonement applied and received by faith. The flesh continues to sin, while the Spirit is made perfect since it has been reborn. If you think you have stopped sinning, you are a liar and are deceiving yourself and others.

Yes I'm trying to make a point, if you believe in you're heart AND testify with you're mouth that Jesus is Lord, you'll be saved, as the scriptures said. So you can say " I believe" all day long, it will have no relevance before God, so testifying is a work that you have to do, or be seen in you're life, not in order to be saved but because you're saved, the same thing is with repentance, you're life has to show the acts of repentance,
Unfortunately people don't understand what faith is, when is written about "faith alone" !
Faith has to be expressed in you're life in order to be noticed!

The word "alone", by definition excludes everything else. In reality everything is connected. One big equation. The shed blood is what made grace possible which is obtained by faith, and genuine "faith" produces love, forgiveness and repentance and that eventually leads to obedience and endurance. There is no such thing as anything alone. And those who may throw the word "backloader" around, it has nothing to do with a works based salvation. It is a free gift but "genuine" faith produces fruit. The real Gospel transforms you and its the Spirit renewing you. A husband who tells his wife "i love you" but then repeatedly cheats on her, thats not love. Its merely honoring her with his lips while his heart his far from her. Those who accuse others of faith + works are in error. Otherwise they have to call Philippians 4:13 a "work" too. But its through Christ one can have victory over sin. Cannot boast afterwards.

That is why God gave us the H.S. to help us overcome sin. Why would God said, "Be ye holy, as I am holy". He will not say that if you cannot do it. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
deliberately is the key word here. A Christian hates sins and rejects it. But it is very hard not to feel hate for the ones who persecute you. It is almost impossible to not fall asleep when you need to pray.
Are you in debt, you shouldn´t because it is a sin for your have given yourself in promise to this world.
Do you still save money for the future? Well that is a sin also for Jesus told us to trust him in our needs.
The good thing is that God forgives sin.
Also yo have taken the verse of Revelations way out of context. Before Rev 7 comes ths:
4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. 6 But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

      Cynthia Adams You are right.
Romans 3:7 But if through my falsehood God’s truthfulness abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner?
For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
      Righteousness through Faith
21 But now, apart from law, the righteousness of God has been disclosed, and is attested by the law and the prophets, 22 the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction, 23 since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; 24 they are now justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God put forward as a sacrifice of Atonement.
For we hold that a person is justified by faith apart from works prescribed by the law.
      The Example of Abraham
4 What then are we to say was gained by Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to one who works, wages are not reckoned as a gift but as something due. 5 But to one who without works trusts him who justifies the ungodly, such faith is reckoned as righteousness.
Faith was reckoned to Abraham as righteousness.” 10 How then was it reckoned to him? Was it before or after he had been circumcised? It was not after, but before he was circumcised. 11 He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had...
I do believe Paul previously just quoted from the OT to prove none were righteous? Apparently misunderstanding the meaning and that it has a historical context unrelated to his day specifically. Liars do lie.
      ...
by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was to make him the ancestor of all who believe without being circumcised...
If they believed it was in the Torah, according to the Covenant, and if they believed they'd do what believers did and circumcise, get circumcised. No circumcision equals no Covenant.
In fact God was going to kill Moses for not circumcising and almost did, according to the Torah. So I would say it's serious business.
"and who thus have righteousness reckoned to them, 12 and likewise the ancestor of the circumcised who are not only circumcised but who also follow the example of the faith that our ancestor Abraham had before he was circumcised."
If they followed the faith of Abraham, they would emulate Abraham, enter the Covenant, which is the purpose of circumcision, to enter into a Covenant with God.
Arabs were still circumcising by the time of Islamic Hijra.
" For the promise that he would inherit the world did not come to Abraham or to his descendants through the law... "
God's Word IS LAW, His promises are His Words, and factually speaking it was exactly because of the Law that Abraham's descendants circumcised, so it was definitely Law, it was because of disobedience to the Law that cost them the first Temple leading to 70 years of exile.
"... but through the righteousness of faith. 14 If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void...."
Whose promise? Where is this written?
"... 15 For the law brings wrath; but where there is no law, neither is there violation."
No law, no law to break... this just means if nothing is illegal, there can be no crime, duh, that's why there are laws, (You people think this man is a Prophet?) it says nothing of morality.

KJV1611. co The point is to show how good God is, by making it easy for us to come to Him, after realizing how bad we are. We dont deserve salvation and he STILL gives it to us freely. God coming to the earth in a human body and sacrificing his life for you personally, why do you think you need to add your works to it? As if Jesus wasn't strong enough to save you by Himself. He needs your effort in order to save you. Does the life guard need your help when he saves you from drowning? The whole concept of *being saved* implies that you can't do it yourself.

      James 2:14-26

Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by [b]my works.

PAUL never preached a gospel he himself did not believe enouph to obey;acts 22 1-16 having read this are your sins forgiven merely by believing in JESUS and his sacrifice or should a person who truly believes be baptized in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST for the forgiveness of sins allowing him or her to recieve the HOLY GHOST according to acts 2;38?this same PAUL also wrote ROMANS 6;1-6 and announced a curse against anyone who brought a different gospel from the one he and all the other apostles were preaching warning us not even to believe an angel bringing a different gospel! GALATIANS 1;6-9 also in galatians he shows us that being BAPTIZED acording to acts 2;38 is what we do to put on christ and recieve our identity before GOD as ABRAHAMS children as well as GODS children; GALATIANS 3;5-29! the record of US the GENTILES first becoming GODS children and we did to attain this glorious and undeserving position before GOD is crystal clear in CHAPTERS 10 an11 of ACTS please read all of both chapters! you want bible truth? If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 5 He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

The Bible says…For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10.) Our good works come from our new desires as new creations. If work was a requirement unto salvation, not only would the “gift” of God (Ephesians 2:8)no longer be a gift by definition, it is tantamount to saying The Lord Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection simply wasn’t sufficient , leaving something that I , I dare say, must add to that. Incidentally, the thief on the cross didn’t do any works. Of course we should do good works to honor and praise our God who saves us. As His children, in Christ, He did foreordain that we “should “ walk in them. And we should indeed.

That verse doesn't say 'work for'; it says 'work out'.
It's referring to physical deliverance from temporal suffering, not spiritual salvation from hell. How so?
[All scriptures mentioned below are from the KJB]
Go to Philippians 1:16 (obviously check context of scriptures mentioned)
"The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds'"
Philippines 1:16 - referring to a literal physical imprisonment
      Look at Philippians 1:19
" For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,"
Paul notes that he expects his expected deliverance from physical bonds as his salvation; not a spiritual salvation from hell but a physical salvation from suffering.
      Philippians 1:28 ,29
"And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;"
Work out your salvation is acceptance of God's will and expectance of God's deliverance. We accept God's will in the midst of suffering for His will. What is His will?
"John 6:40 And this is the will of him [God] that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day."
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast."
      Romans 11:5-6
"Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."
Even apostle Paul puts it in such simple terms.
At the end of the day, it's either works or grace. It can't be both. If you want to go with works, you have to cut out all of the new testament and a good few books in the old testament too. If you are trusting in your works to be saved, you will be judged by the law, which means you will have to keep all the commandments, be sinless - if you break one commandment, you break them all.
However, If you realise that not one person can keep the law, then all you need to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved, and His shed blood will be the remission for all your sins, and He'll be your Advocate.
      1 John 2:1-2
"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world."
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (the gospel of Christ)
      Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again on the third day according to the scriptures:
      Acts 16:30-31
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Bryan grace is supplied by God not by us, "by grace alone means what we humans provide for our salvation is faith(alone) brother... ...Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 5:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 5:17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Actually this man is correct. We are not saved by faith. We are saved. THROUGH faith. Not by it. Faith is the conduit that grace can get to us. And the faith to believe is that not of ourselves. It is the gift of God. Good job husky. Reprove rebuke and exhort.

The LORD rebuke thee. Humble yourself. Your claiming to speak the truth, but are being blinded by the exact light of the scriptures you say you believe. You say faith alone isn't in the bible, but you directly contradict yourself by using the word bible, which isn't in there. Yet we know what somebody is talking about when they say bible in it's PROPER BIBLICAL CONTEXT, the KJV. Just as with faith alone in it's PROPER BIBLICAL CONTEXT, we know what is being spoken of.
You flat out lied by saying Abraham didn't know the gospel. I don't know if it was ignorance, pride, or purposefully...but you lied.
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, PREACHED BEFORE THE GOSPEL UNTO ABRAHAM, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
    Galatians 3:8 KJV.
Now unless we have multiple gospels of salvation in the word of God, we see clearly that Abraham knew the gospel because God told it to him, which is why it is by faith. Abraham didn't live long enough to see Christ come and fulfill that promise, yet he knew the gospel. If Abraham knew the gospel, Isaac and Jacob knew it too.

Bryan - you need to be more like Jesus and sit with the sick and the sinners of this world. Sitting back and calling names and everyone is a heretic. God didn't put you on this earth to call names and throw insults to anyone and everyone that calls you out of the things you're saying. I would seriously suggest you take a look in the mirror ask God for some clarity.
I don't remember one story in the Bible were Jesus was calling the sinners and the sick Idiots! People need compassion not a debate or challenge to others. Read the Word and allow God to work through you. Most of everything I've ever heard of your preaching is pure "your" belief. God speaks to everyone differently and you simply saying it's my way or no way is wrong.
I always go back to the thief next to Jesus and he told him he would be in paradise with him that day. What exactly did he do? All he had was belief/faith - so in his example faith alone was the way it worked out for him. He couldn't do anything else but believe right?
Every person on earth that does believe on Jesus, God has a plan for that person on how to use them for His Glory.
    Quit being so angry Bryan!
You need to Love people - I'm learning that now, loving people allows you to give God's word to others and help them to get saved.
Think if you had a job build bolts for CAT industries. If you truly didn't like making those bolts you wouldn't be telling people about it other than how horrible it is to make them. Well, practice loving people and you will deliver God's word with enthusiasm and be more effective with getting the world to all creatures.
Praying for you and hope you hear what I'm saying versus judging because I don't believe exactly the way you do.

C'mon brother, this is really straining at a gnat (a small change of term but not doctrine) and then swallowing a camel (your attitude in this video). Brother, this is not the right spirit in which to speak, and although your point is valid, it would be a side note in an exposition of something far more edifying (I Cor 14).
Friend, I beseech thee to repent, as a brother in Christ, this internet ministry has hurt your Christianity and your testimony. Please do as the Scripture teaches and get into a fellowship of other believers where you can be checked and balanced as the body of Christ does. No foot or hand or eye in the body of Christ can just be isolated and pretend like they don't need the others for correction or perfection (I Cor 12; Eph 4:11).
Your heresy is not what you're teaching here, but the spirit in which you speak is not condusive of one under the control of the Holy Spirit. I am not against you, I'm not against your exposition, but when you get behind a camera and place yourself into the hands of the internet, you will blind yourself to your own faults, because you're not accountable to another spiritual soul on the face of this earth. May God help you my friend.

Cindy Long - Not to long ago, Me my self was kind of giving up telling God I cant stand when I can't always be of his pleasure.
I told Him I cant please Him as He deserves and I hate it. I was angry with my self and took it on Him telling Him I didnt ask to be born. I told Him I didn't ask Him to give me life, but that He chose to even knowing that I wasnt going to be able to please Him.
I ask Him why? Why did you give me life if you knew it. Im a sinner not because I want to but because Im born from sin! Its not my fault Adam and Eve sinned.
If it was up to me and I could and if I had the power, I'll stop every sin in me, but I cant! Because I came from sin.
And now here I am struggling daily to please you, not to be saved but to at least try to give you what you deserve, trying to fulfill my purpose which is to please you and its impossible sometimes.
All of the sudden it came to my mind (Rom 7:15-17)
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. note xref-1
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
And a clear understanding just flourish in my heart as I could feel the Lord putting in my mind. "I know it already" "I know where your sin comes from, I know its impossible for you, I know you!". "Thats why I gave up my Son for you, Thats why Jesus died for you.
To give you a chance because on your own its impossible". "I gave you a chance to Live so you can die to then give you real life."
Dont focus on this life but the next one, the pain will be worth it.
I went and told my wife. I said, "when we acknowledge what a sinners we are, when we acknowledge that we dont deserve anything, that we are alive by the grace of God, and saved by His grace and not because we deserve it.
Then we can see! We can see that the sin in others is the same sin in us. The only difference between us saved and the unsaved is that we accepted God's only sacrifice for us, and because of Him dying for us, we have ethernal life. Thats the only difference.
Does that mean we can go sin because we're saved? We can, but should we? No we shouldt because now that we're saved we should be eager to please God for what He gave us. We should show others thats theres hope. And that theres still a chance.
Now seeing it that way, we can have mercy on others, for its now that we know, that its not them but the sin in them. And now we can say like Jesus, "God forgive them for they know not what they do".
The same mercy He had for me is the same mercy He has for them, waiting for them to come to repentance. I accepted Him, I took the chance but they probably dont even know Him well. Like I didn't in one time.
Now we can see with the eyes of Jesus, the eyes of the Spirit and for that reason now we can forgive.
For if we can not forgive the love of the father is not in us. For God is love.
Theres a reason why Jesus was able to forgive all that He was put through. It was because He was able to see us with the eyes of the Spirit, acknowledging that it was not us but the sin in us. Now Satan knows it, he knows there sin in us, but the only thing he can do is temp us, but he has no power.
Only Jesus has power. There is real power in Jesus. Now we have the power to forgive and love like Jesus. How manny times should I forgive you when we argue and you lose control of your tongue? Not 7 but 70 times 7.
If I cant forgive you, where is the power (the love) of Christ in me?
      God bless you.

      @calebalbers2699 7 років тому

Moses broke the Original, the context of the little bit of Romans 10:14 that you quoted it showing that all Christians are called to preach the gospel today. The key thing is verse 17 on what you are bringing up. Faith by hearing and hearing by the word of God. There are many people who quote what you did to try to prove that you cannot call on the name of the Lord and not believe in him and I can give you plenty of personal accounts of Atheists and others that I have dealt with and have called on the Lord mockingly the sinners prayer. God looks on the heart of man and this is the whole point of this passage and the prayer if said with a repentant heart then that man is Saved by the Lord through his Faith and Grace. There are also people that I know that got saved by reading the Bible and praying to ask God to save them beliving the gospel 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 without ever being under a teacher or preacher.
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

To clarify when abraham was accounted for righteousness it was not concerning GOD providing a lamb but rather concerning the word from GOD it was a prophecy that was grace to abraham (favor from GOD both for providing a seed in his old age and what GOD would be for him) "keep in mind during this time and as a old man these are the three biggest concerns for abraham " heir, security and life after you die.
GOD gives abraham his word filled with grace and mercy and abraham responded with faith .
And because of his response it was accounted to him for righteousness.
Anything that happened afterward is a byproduct of being justified by grace through faith already.
Let us put the verse in its proper timeline

The word GOSPEL means “good news. The Good News then is what is taught about something good. This teaching is found in Scripture Alone. The Scripture teaches that God is Holy.God’s Holiness and Sovereignty demand Holiness (complete perfection) from every human.Humanity has sinned, fallen from perfection, and commits sins because we are sinners.God is His holiness is required to be just, therefore, the just condemnation for sin is death. Therefore all men are dead spiritually and will die physically and will enter into a second death eternally. So what’s the good news? God sent the Son, fully God, fully man, born of a virgin, prophesied forever, to live as a human being.Jesus is His name. He is the Christ (messiah), or the Holy Anointed of God.He lived a life of absolute perfection without any sin before God as a man.He then died a death that He did not deserve in order to take the punishment (death) of sinners. His death Atoned (paid for) the sins of His people.Jesus’ death satisfied the wrath of God justly, because He substituted in life (obedience) and death (punishment) for His people.God, through the hearing of this truth, brings to life sinners and causes them to be born again to a living hope in Jesus Christ.Jesus rose from the dead and lives today in order to vindicate all His claims and promises. Therefore, Christ has taken the wrath of God from all who believe, those for whom He died and their sins will be held against them no more. The good news then is that those who trust in this redemption through this God-man Jesus, have eternal life.

So many people out there are trusting in Jesus yet have never experienced the new birth, only a false sence of security and a religious belief that a often wavers ; they are the people that pose the most damage to the true gospel message.
Even though they trust in Jesus, they also trust that Jesus will save them only based on their beliefs, which is wrong (they beleive in vain) . Jesus saves sinners, genuinely repentant sinners. No one ever has gotten saved without repentance in all of human history because God doesn't save those who come to him in a wrong spirit and with a sence of self interest. When I got saved, I came to the lord in a repentant state knowing that I deserved hell.
The reason why I got saved was because I forsook my righteousness, beleived what Jesus had done for me (the gospel). Most "christians" today wanted a "get out of hell free" card so they simply adopted a faith in Jesus without any repentance and had no changed life afterwards, which is a false system of easy-believism. When talking to these anti-repentant heretics you will find them calling repentace a work, even though it is definitely not. Repentance is knowing that you are not good enough for heaven and forsaking your own righteousness to take on Christ's righteousness. These people have no changed life and refuse to repent at all costs, therefore, they will burn in hell after they die. Its very depressing knowing people very close to me and talking to people online who only have a vain belief in Jesus by which they have confidence they are saved by without testing the fruits of their supposed "salvation" on the word of God; and it seems nothing will ever get through their hardened hearts and reprobate minds. Its funny that some of them even claim to beleive in repentance yet have had no changed life and live wickedly.
Just keep preaching Brian, you are accountable to God only, not these weird false brethren!

Actually, that is not what repent means. Idk where you guys got your definitions but the word repent means to have a change of mind. It is translated from the Greek word metanoia. God himself repents in Exodus 32. God has no sin or self righteousness to turn from because he is perfect. By your beliefs you are saying God has sin when it's clear repent means none of what you just said. A simple google search can help you figure things like this out

Why is everyone getting so upset about this? It should be obvious to all of you that the 5 solas are dangerously over-simplifying the vital knowledge that's contained in our King James bibles (which should be studied in it's entirety and not just dumbed down to 5 sentences! How sad!).
You guys should've spotted this a mile away: anything that sounds like a mantra is a big red flag: *Matthew 6:7* "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking."
Also how convenient is it that they omitted repentance 1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Luke 13:3 - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. *Definition of repentance*: to feel regret or contrition, to turn from sin. It is not works people, it's simply sincere remorse and gratitude after realizing what God has done for you, *1 Cor **6:20* - For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in *your body*, and in *your spirit*, which are God's.
So turn from your wicked ways people, change, become a new creature!
Now all we hear about is "just believe!!!", do they believe in God or in unicorns? Sadly you wouldn't notice the difference!
May God bless you and protect you brother Bryan as well as your loved ones.

Biblical Repentance is a change of mind (not turning from sin).Jesus was talking about Repenting of your UNBELIEF! You quote- I John 1:9 as "believers" should confess their sins, but they already have repented from their unbelief. But of course you forgot to quote verse 8 and 10 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
"If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

    • @MissHollyTyler
      @MissHollyTyler 7 років тому +2

A change of mind makes you turn away from your sins, if it doesn't then you haven't changed your mind! We're not in a quest for perfection but we're so deeply touched to have the privilege and honor to call the almighty God our Father that we can't help but strive to please Him in everything we do despite the fact that we are weak, that's why He is our strength.
"Be ye holy; for I am holy"

Mary Adams-So,then have you turned away from all your sins? I mean all of them? If you answer honestly, NO YOU HAVEN'T! You still sin every single day! (I John 1:8)
To "turn away from sin" means to turn over a new leaf,to stop sinning! NOBODY has stopped sinning. If "repenting of sin" means to turn from sin, then by definition it means you have forsaken sin and you no longer sin. (I John 1:8-10 says you are a LIAR and there is no truth in you if you say you don't sin)
The Word REPENT is Metanoia, a transliteration of the Greek μετάνοια
It means change of mind. When Repent is used in scripture, what are we repenting of? Jesus is talking about your UNBELIEF! NOWHERE in the King james bible will you find the words "Repent of your sin" or "turn from your sin" in the context of Salvation. We see passages like John 3:18 "He that believeth on him
is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God." Man is ALREADY condemned in his UNBELIEF,so he must REPENT of his unbelief in order to be saved.(though one must be born again to even believe the Gospel)
The Words "turning away from sin" is just adding to the Gospel unto Salvation. What did Paul say?
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." All you are doing is adding yourself (works) to salvation.

    • @MissHollyTyler

Hi again, I did completely turn away from major sins (praise the Lord), have I become perfect? Absolutely not, and it's fine because I'm not doing this to earn my salvation but to get closer to God. The Lord is well aware of the battle that's taking place between the Holy Spirit that dwells in us and our flesh. Remember "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." Do you hunger and thirst for God? It's so convenient to tag our love for our Heavenly Father as works, it's like saying: "Yes you may love God but don't you dare show it as it becomes works!!!"...

    • @peytonsingh1038
      @peytonsingh1038 6 років тому

"Major sins" All sin is equal besides blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. A liar is on the same level as a murderer. Also, the change of mind is not about sin, it's about Christ leading to belief. Who he is, was, the perfect life he lived, his sacrifice, his resurrection. Changing your mind from unbelief to belief. Yes you will get better with sin as you progress in Christian life but nowhere in the Bible does it say that I must stop doing something or do anything at all to be saved. Read Galatians 2:16-21, Galatians 3:2-14, as well as Romans 7. They explain that it is only by faith and that we will always sin in this corrupt flesh. 1 Corinthians 15:50.

Salvation is a free gift, but even a free gift must be recieved. The word " recieve" in the new testaments original Greek means " to take hold of".
It is our faith in action that results in us recieving the free gift of salvation.
Being saved is also being born again and just as physical birth is the end result of a process so is spiritual rebirth. That process is, faith, repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and recieving the Holy Spirit.
These are the keys to the kingdom of heaven that Jesus gave Peter which he spoke in Acts 2:38. These keys were not just for the jews but for," whosoever the Lord our God shall call"( Acts 2:39).
There are only three instances in scripture that describe believers recieving the Holy Spirit and what happened the moment that they recieved, Acts ch.2,10, and ch.19. In each instance the first thing that happened was that they spoke in tongues.
Three repetitions of anything in scripture is the Words' way of directing our attention to an important spiritual truth.

Ephesians 2:9 "Not of works, lest any man should boast." I don't know how that can be interpreted to prove faith and works. And i am not saying works are not important. They are a sure sign of a saved person, true faith, and a repentant heart. In real faith there must be a change, born again, good fruit. The reason it is "Not of works, lest any man should boast." is to avoid the very people you rebuke that save "3000 souls a year" and they start sacrificing the integrity of the Gospel to "save souls". And I'm not even going to get into the satanic catholic doctrine of penance as works.

This is a very passionate and knowledgeable man who has done his homework on all of his sermons. He is without a doubt being used mightily by the Lord. He is a man. Ergo subject to error. As are all men. Not that I personally can point out any errors because he is far more knowledgeable than I. However, brothers and sisters in Christ, IF you do feel the need to rebuke him based on scripture, and not by your flesh, pride, ego, hurt feelings, etc but by the Holy Spirit revealing it to you and being able to back it up with scripture, do so with love. Isn't that one of the baseline commandments from the Lord is to love our brother and sister as ourselves? We are to encourage, and if need be, rebuke with love for the purpose of edification. Love. Yet I scroll the comments and see insults and rude comments. Is the Holy Spirit guiding you in your words, or is it your flesh?

God is love! He who lives in LOVE, lives in God, and God in he!
A little too much salt, but not enough love, I've been guilty of this as well, because it's so much easier to love a bear that could rip me to pieces, because there's not an ounce of hatred in his entire furry body, but so hard to love a human being, when that human being is hating you for every reason his mind can conjure up!
I can feel genuine love in the tone of David Wilkerson's heavy hitting slaps, that convict down to the soul, to the bone and the marrow, but I feel a coldness in these messages... Most often times, I have to pray to God, and say, "God, I'm running out of love, help me! Give me Thy love, because I can feel myself dangling so close the precipice, where below burn the fires of eternal damnation!"... My own flesh terrifies me, my soul weary of fighting the flesh which is in constant battle... and I say , Lord, God, let me not fall down into obscurity!
I am glad that you believe in Jesus Christ, keep the faith, and let us pray God's love, where so ever He may find us lacking! God Bless and keep you!

As someone who is still listening to a number of your videos, and has been listening to Ed's videos as well recently, I have to mention, around 7:20 into your video you say he's teaching something that he hasn't taught, from what I've seen. He wasn't saying you're unsaved because you've had a changed life, but he was more arguing, as I recall, against saying a changed life was requisite to be saved. I think he also pointed out that you should try to make sure you're saved, because there can be questions if you are, and salvation was by believing the Lord Jesus Christ was the Son of God, shed His blood and died for our sins, that He rose the third day, and that He alone is our all-sufficient Savior. Ed made a huge point that there are two natures, the flesh and the spirit, and that while you can be saved you can still be disobedient in the flesh. And that's part of the free will choice we're allowed by God. Since you're talking about James 2, I'm sure you've seen how he's speaking to "brethren" in verse 14, or, as I understand, saved believers. So then they can be saved, but also can be unprofitable to God and probably have a much worse life than they could have if they aren't showing their faith to others, which would justify them before others. That's something many of us were impacted by, I'm sure, when we were unsaved and we saw Christians who practiced what they preached. It definitely made Christianity more appealing to me.
Probably the most compelling point I've heard him make is how we all know in Ephesians 2:9, when talking about salvation, God says it's:
Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:9)
And so wouldn't that mean there would be boasting, if salvation is by works, in the time of Jacob's trouble or in the Old Testament?
Another thing is the only way I can see to reconcile these following Scriptures is if one is talking about being justified in the flesh (before men) and the other, in the spirit (before God):
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. (James 2:23-24)
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath [whereof] to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. (Romans 4:2-3)
So much of this is beyond me but I wanted to at least say that much. Thanks for listening.
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. (Galatians 2:16)

To some degree this is a tomato/tomáto situation. On the one hand you are right, you clearly need God's grace to be saved. But on the other hand, you could say that if you do NOT have God's grace then you must not truly have faith. If one has TRUE faith in the sacrifice of Christ then he/she will receive God's grace. I get your point and I don't think you're wrong, but like I said, this is somewhat of a tomato/tomáto situation IMO.

Husky394xp I know what you mean and I get it, but "Faith Alone" is a Biblical Concept. I even agree with what you're saying, but when I say "By Faith Alone" I mean that Jesus, the one who's done all the work for me on the Cross, is my Faith. He's the object of my Faith, not my works, because I have no works worth considering by God. Jesus, being the object of Faith, is the only person worth having faith in. Therefore, by Christ Alone, AKA Faith Alone, we are Saved. We aren't Saved because we repent. We repent because we are Saved. We can't be Saved without Jesus.

Scores more archaic, confusing words: chode, gat, kab, cracknels, and on and on. I won't go into where only 7 manuscripts were used for KJV (from Erasmus) and that thousands more have been discovered which are older and more accurate. Please don't be dogmatic about KJV. Kelsey Van Every you’re a liar. Over 5300 manuscripts were used in translating the King James. It is the true word of God. You can read your NiV if you want. Or many other new versions, that call the Lord Jesus satan. They’re all the same, they come from the Catholic Church. You forgot to mention the many manuscripts found are the Dead Sea scrolls, which many aren’t even scripture but secular writings. The 57 foot long Isaiah scroll reads just like the KJV. The new bibles are from about 45 different manuscripts, and the Dead Sea scrolls aren’t even used in those translations anyway. The nestle allond was done by wescott and hort, both didn’t believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, didn’t believe heaven and hell were literal physical places, believed in summoning the dead and were fans of Darwin. But read a bible from them if you trust it. Frank Logsdon didn’t. So don’t pick up an NASB, he denounced his own work. There are so many common sayings still used by people that come straight out of the KJV. Do you know any? Your short diatribe is laughable at best. Complete lack of study.

Its true that words "faith alone" is never found in the KJB. But author of the video is equally confused by saying "We are saved by God's GRACE through our FAITH.." He subtly adds "OUR" to Ephesians 2:8-9 which is not there too. Compare Romans 3:21-22 and Galatians 2:16. All other satanic bibles other than the KJB replace "Faith OF Christ" with "Faith IN Christ" and this is exactly what the author is saying by his statement "We are saved by God's GRACE through OUR FAITH.." Also "faith alone" must be considered to be a concept taught in scripture because it is the the "FAITH OF CHRIST" alone that obtains us justification and God's imputed righteousness. It was His obedience even by the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8). Also carefully see "faith to faith" (Romans 1:17). Yes we must be put OUR FAITH in Christ and his shed blood for the forgiveness of sins and be saved.

Thank you so,so,so, much for teaching the truth. The people who will not hear the true meaning of the scriptures are NOT Christ's sheep. They will never submit to the authority of King Jesus, they have no intention of loving Him by His definition of love ( If you love Me keep My commandments). These people have no Holy Spirit in them, and are just kidding themselves to death by thinking they can live in the desires of the flesh and still be received into Christ's Kingdom.
The most important words Jesus ever said were in John 6:44-45 44“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets: ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me-
The "faith alone"...or once saved always saved people have NEVER BEEN TAUGHT BY GOD.....so they can't even come to Christ!
Acts 2:24................ And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. God The Father chooses The bride to be for His Son. The ones He teaches must remain obedient to Make the Royal Wedding.....God is in this For LOVE...and GOD spells LOVE O B E Y . So thanks again for your work to speak the truth Brother. See you in the kingdom.

I am still with you brother. when I came across my first video by you . I thought , This man is teaching what I also came to understand, though darkly. You helped clarify through scripture , what I couldn't really put into words. Like why I couldn't go into a church building anymore. It creeped me out . I read my bible more than ever and my hunger grows. KJB of course that's another thing. No one I ever met didn't make mistakes along the way to learning God's word . Grow In grace and in the knowledge of the truth . Many still dribble and choke on the milk , How will they chew on the meat ? Lord Jesus keep thee .

He is my brother in the body of Jesus Christ not my authority. Seems to me many try to find some fault , Then throw out everything a man has labored at for years . Was your bible understanding full when you first read the Word . I think not. Wisdom comes by time and study and the exercising of the things learned.

Ouch! Such vitriol! Your message would be best received without the hatred, the name-calling, and the put downs. Remember that old adage about honey and vinegar. While I agree about not "faith alone", I do believe people would be more responsive if you spoke more politely, pointed out the respective scriptures, and stopped bashing Lutherans, Baptists, Catholics, etc., and people by name!!!
