F1 is not anymore a Race. Its more a Pit Stop race + Crew.
I think it’s fanbase grew so much in 2021. Because it was the first season after lockdown was over in which people could go see live races, and as soon as the fans got back, they were treated to the Verstappen v Hamilton duel down to the end across the whole season. This season it declined a little bit because of the Verstappen-RB dominance but shot back up again after people realized that Ferrari’s pit crew and strategy team would take care of the fun part of F1 for the rest of the year😂😂😂
For me, as a brazilian it's so weird to see that people don't know some really basic knowledge about f1. I don't know, maybe because of Senna, we all know a little bit about the sport. But at the same time is so fun to watch people getting curious about it for the first time!
Unfortunately, I never got to see Senna race because I started Watching f1 in 1998, but I’ve seen videos of him where he just dominated. I believe he would’ve won at least 2 more championships

Americans tend to do their own things, and dont relaly know much. Though times are changing due to netflix I guess.
The Greatest Driver in history is from your nation. Americans generally care only about sports that are popular to them - which are suspiciously & conveniently either sports they invented or ones they are competitive at.

9:20 he didn't get out right away. He was stuck for about 30 seconds in the inferno because his left foot was stuck between the brake pedal and the wall of the safety cell. That's why he jumped out with only one boot on. That's the reason that F1 drivers wear fireproof race suits and nomex underwear beneath it. The new suits, introduced in 2020, the year of that crash, can withstand the type of fire he was in for 60 seconds before heat starts to transfer. The gloves and socks were of the old spec, and that's the only reason he burned his hands and left foot. He walked away from that crash otherwise unscathed

yeah, f1 is a world wide racing sport! i think currently they race in like 20 countries a year. as the most fans are in europe there are even races at night on the other side of the globe. looks quite unreal! :)

Hi from UK. The quickest explanation of F1 I can give is, they are the fastest cars in the world, (round a track) by a long way. They do over 20 races in over 20 different countries each year. Each time they do 3 practice sessions, qualifying and then an almost 2 hour race. F1 has been going since like the 1910s and it's pretty embarrassing that very few Americans know anything about it. No offense lol. It's extremely expensive. Teams used to spend between £100 and £500 million per year. 10 teams, 2 drivers per team. The cars are designed and built by hundreds of people and they are the most scientifically advanced cars in the world. Because the cars are designed by each individual team, they are all slightly different, making competition very fierce. I hope that sheds some light.
If you want an interesting factoid to get you gripped, when they pit during the race to change tyres, they change all 4 tires in an average of 2.5 seconds.
F1 has been since 1950's not 1910's as a championship

The reason a lot of the time they get stuck in the gravel is due to the car being so low and having a flat floor so if the car slows down too much in the gravel it just digs itself in

4:24 The fact you guys didn't see any other cars is because this is qualifying, not the race....on Saturday the drivers have some time to drive some laps by themselves. The one with the fastest lap can start in the front on the race on Sunday. The one who is second will start second and so on. The rest of the drivers either already have driven their laps so they were in the garage or were busy with their laps so they still are somewhere else on the track. If you get the fastest lap in qualifying you have "pole position" the driver in the video (Lance Stroll) has won pole position for the first time in his career. Thats why he was so happy.

In all seriousness it’s good to see new people checking out f1 American viewership isn’t as high as it could be compared to European views. Hopefully with the new American circuit coming up in the future it will drive more American fans to the sport

Considering the cars are reaching over 200mph the safety cells and the parts of the car that are designed to break away or absorb impact during a high speed crash make them incredibly safe. We have lost a lot of great drivers over the years and every time there's been a serious crash they investigate and make drastic changes to either the circuit or car. Also the Marshall's and rescue teams are amazing. Lewis Hamilton has won the world championship 7 times equaling Michael Schumachers record. You should really follow F1. It's as exciting as the most exciting thing you can think of.✌️♥️🇬🇧

It’s normally a world championship but in 2020 due to Covid it was held predominantly in Europe.

All those bits and pieces falling off actually serves a purpose ;) The broken off parts actually takes some of the forces that would have gone to the driver instead. So to make it short, it makes the car safer.

it is worldwide, they ship the same car all the staff and mechanical parts over just a matter of days and considering that the cars are 13-16 million each, their logistics are another thing to marvel at

It's a WORLD championship.
Formula 1 usually has about 23 races in a year, all in different countries around the world. Each race you can earn points and the driver with the most points wins the championship at the end of the year. 3:59 they didn't accelerate, Verstappen lifted off the gas slightly. With the aerodynamic forces affecting an F1 car, even a millimeter of lift on the gas is enough for the front and rear wings to effective brake the car harder than your average road car with you literally standing with full weight on the brake pedal :)

kinda going to throw from context's for this f1 video,the 2020 season was a season like F1 has never had before,
the season did not start until July due to covid and some tracks hosted more than one race in the season and we also visited some tracks that have not been a part of the f1 calender for many many years,also the guy how had massive crash in the final clip now races in the US.

If you want to see a great season of F1, I suggest the next year, 2021. It comes down to the Brit Hamilton (and yes he's a great driver!) then 7 times World Champion and the Dutch driver Verstappen. The fight was so fierce, with lots of 'incidents', It finally it all came down to the last race. Best year ever in a long time in F1 in my opinion.

Grosjean “The Phoenix” (fireball guy) was actually temporarily trapped in his car in the flames for like 30-45 seconds…which might not seem like a lot of time…unless your sitting inside a racing fuel bonfire….you guys should react to his interview after being released from the hospital….he talked about thinking he couldn’t get out of the car…and a feeling of relaxation came over him and he thought that was it..he was going to die…then he thought about his kids and kept struggling..and finally got out of the car…it’s a really moving interview. 🔥🔥💯💯❤️❤️👍👍🍻🍻🇺🇸🇺🇸

I don’t think this was a good video for a first time watcher of F1. A lot of these are just situations that were relevant to the championship etc. Also had 2 clips of a slow set race lol. The crashes get far more crazy than these.

Formula 1 is all about insane speed, and you only looked slowed down scenes. See some in real speed!!!!!
You even did not notice in the last one, the car was split in half , and the other half went through that small hole ( about one foot wide) right through the barrier with the driver in it. He was there nearly one whole minute in the fire, before he could es escape. Sorry you really did not get anything!! And then: " see how fast that happened?"--- That was slow motion, dear girl!!!
