Me at 14 years in 1976...just discovered rock'n'roll , ditched disco, put the volume of rock'n'roll songs wide open , pulled the cloth protection from the speakers to see the bass speakers pop out on the sound of the contra bass....i trade all my tomorrows for one of those days...mama bursting in my room dinner was ready.....God i miss those days...😢
Pinetop Perkins sang this in the deep South, where my Dad heard it in the 50s in New Orleans on a business trip. My Dad had no formal training but had perfect recall. He used to listen to an ad jingle in the car, then come in and play it almost perfectly by ear. We lived in a town like Beaver CLeaver, so when my parents had a cocktail party, and my Dad started pounding on the 88s and sang "Big Fat Mama", my mom looked a bit miffed, but then guests started gathering at the piano. It became his signature tune. He was emulating African American blues before the Stones or Bluesbreakers or other UK bands were in long pants. But what matters is I lost my Dad in 2007. And when this tune erupted, I jumped and started jitterbugging by myself. Pure joy! He was in this room.
We did this kind of music growing up with guitar buddies with inexpensive Airlines, Silvertones and Danelectros in the 50s and looking back now, it was the sheer pleasure of doing it that drove it, no cRap! Great job guys. Bringing back those memories of a particular style and attitude - THANKS!
The Backyard Casanovas really nail it with their superb playing of this Rock and Roll rocker song. Fantastic band with talented musicians. I like their unique fashion style in this video.
Que manera tan relajada y agradable de tocar, además de la manera de cantar. La banda se escucha muy bien integrada. ¡Son estupendos! ¡El solo de guitarra me encanta! 🤩
Ok,,, good tunes ...BUT I really came here for fashion tips from these sharp dressed men. Lots of ideas for my next trip to the tailors. A woman loves a sharp dressed man. I want to be that Man !
the only way you can get that way is quit your job and play all day every day, Because i dont have time. i have to support family. Advice, don't get married, play music.
I totally agree 😂. I find my work as a substance abuse counselor to be rewarding, but I regret not making time over the years to focus on playing music.
You don't have to play all day everyday to get to this level Most guitar players who don't get good is, in my experience, becuz they don't want to be taught...they get the bare minimum to play parts of songs then accept it as good. There's a lack of drive or other excuses.... I know this becuz I've seen it in many students I've had... Your point about family is more legit then other reasons I've heard tho. "Playing all day everyday" is a bad strategy...it's only gonna burn you out and hurt your hands in the long run.
Voilà donc je vais me réabonner ! Malgré que my Channel UA-cam est parti.... avec tout ! À bientôt encore j’espère ! Bravo à vous !!!
ça ce sont les riffs et le son du rock n' roll....le vrai.

I hear you.
You guys were born too late, you would have made rock n roll history if that song was released in 1957/58.
