I just noticed at the end of song sketch,he pronounces Reeves with an S,meaning it was Slim that called 100%,since Marshal does point out that S in not to be pronounced in their face off so he is saying it wrong.
I'm back tracking some of your videos and relike them cause my likes are gone on alot of them. Love you two ❤️ Em have been part of my life since 97 and it's so crazy how damn deep his music is and how everything comes togheter! I've never seen something even close... he truly are a masterpeice ❤
12:03 - yes Karen! My assumption is it’s Shady merging with Eminem, the performer against Marshall, the actual conscious human. But all of this is so subjective 🤷♂️
Absolutely keep bringing Karen back! And after getting through this album, I do highly recommend you two react to The Face Off on Complex. Let those things sit with you for a few days. Then I’d love to see you take Karen through the most essential Eminem songs from the beginning. This album pulls so much from all the different stages of Eminem’s career, and I feel like it helps you appreciate all of that even more when you revisit it. I find myself enjoying and appreciating TDOSS more and more. “Guilty Conscience 2” is my favorite track from the album. It feels so cinematic, and the beat and production are chef’s kiss. I *NEED* an official music video for this. 😂 Yes, you gotta respect the OG “Guilty Conscience” for its storytelling. But I feel like “Guilty Conscience 2” takes things to a new level - I feel like it’s a bit more sophisticated. The original is more of an outsider’s perspective observing other people going through “the angel versus the devil on my shoulders” deal. This one feels like it’s inviting us into the wars Eminem has within his own head/heart.
It’s actually Eminem, Slim Shady, and Marshall. Eminem was killed off. So it’s only Marshall vs Slim atm. We’ll see where it goes from here. I bet they rescue Eminem.
@@CliffBeatsOfficial No man lol. "Eminem" never died. This album has been Marshall vs Slim the whole entire time, with Marshall regressing into Shady as he gets "kidnapped and drugged" (which is actually him drugging himself since they are the same person). Eminem is his Emcee name, while Marshall and Shady are the two personas. Each album is a combination of the two; the latest examples would be Revival rapping mostly as Marshall, MTBMB was a mix of both, while this album and Kamikaze are him rapping mostly as Shady. Shady was "presumed" dead after GC2, which isn't true because he survived and it was a reoccurring nightmare like groundhogs day, which is evident with the alarm clock. The whole point Em was making this album was that the old school 2003 Shady isn't something that works in 2024 as a 51 year old sober Christian, and he acknowledged what Shady did for him but it's not what he's about anymore. So he gave us one final "Real Shady" album and the Coup De Grace. Like he said at the end of the interview, he's gonna focus on being Eminem the Emcee and not dwell on the past.
@@CliffBeatsOfficial if you watch the recent interview marshall and slim shady finally agree they need to do this for em and the fans. Em is not dead and wasn’t in the album
Someone more knowledgeable please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the line “what shot is this? It’s your third” refers to this being the third song in which he has tried to kill Slim Shady. The only other track that immediately comes to mind is “When I’m Gone”, but I’m sure there’s another. When I’m Gone: How could it be that the curtain is closin' on me? I turn around, find a gun on the ground, cock it Put it to my brain, scream, "Die, Shady!", and pop it The sky darkens, my life flashes The plane that I was supposed to be on crashes and burns to ashes
A lot of people that want to get on EM' about the women hate, I tell them to look at it from his point of view from back then like he says in the song "Rap God", " they're asking me to eliminate some of the women hate but if you take into consideration the bitter hatred I have then you may be a little patient and more sympathetic to the situation and understand the discrimination." People have to understand the pain that the women in his life when he was younger caused him. That's why I don't judge anyone for things they say or do, not saying what they did is right or wrong, I just don't judge them, it's not my place or anyone else's
You guys are the only couple I enjoy watching reactions about hiphop and rap music. Cliff knows what he is talking about and it's nice to see that Karen can keep up with it and also catch on things that he missed.
Came for the content, subscribed because I love watching you and Karen react together! Her reactions are mine when I listen to Slim 😂 but I just can’t help loving him 🤷🏻♀️ Can’t wait to see you two react to the Complex Vs video! Keep up the great work!!!!
13:26-27..... am I the only one to notice it's the only time he mentioned benzino this whole album. I've heard this song 20+ times and I caught it this time
Remember Marshel + Shady = Eminem, so it will always be between Marshel and Shady. When u hear the Echos and the background of him singing, that's them combined in a way where it's eminem.
It’s refreshing to see a relationship where the people are comfortable making jokes and don’t get into some weird jealousy thing because one of them sees someone that’s attractive. Edit: Forgot to mention she’s awesome on the reactions and is paying attention!
I LOVE GC2, SO good! 💯🐐 As a female, I must have grown up with thick skin since I'm Gen X like Eminem so I'm a day 1 fan...THANKFULLY Lol. It will break my heart if he quits music anytime soon FR 💔He has been with me my entire adult life since I was a teenager going into college 💯 I'm definitely blessed to have grown up on his music...and all the other great genres of music that we had in the 80's and 90's 🙌 I love watching Karen get invested in Em 🙏🏼🙂
*FUN FACT:* In the Breaking News Skit, Eminem used actual News Anchors from the Detroit local News Station 👀 👀 👀 Look it up... the Anchors gave great details about how Eminem was impressed with what they did (and how they did it improv), and they talked highly of Eminem as a person. EMINEM/MARSHALL MATHERS/SLIM SHADY IS THE F**KING GOAT 🐐 ‼️💯💯💯
Sup Karen great job! I am in drug recovery now and been clean for 7 months. But I can most definitely identify with the thought process Em, Slim, and Marshall has. But can't wait for the next one. Bring Karen back for the old Slim as well Cliff🎉🎉🎉
The part you hear when Em wakes up is the end of the first verse, not the song: "that Slim Shady, yeah baby Slim Shady's crazy. Shady made me but tonight Shady's rock-a-bye baby."
I think we should start calling Karen "Stan" from now on 😂💯 She's definitely invested in slim now! Gotta take yo girl down the Eminem/Slim Shady rabbit hole and let her react to some real classics my guy! Respect from the UK 🏴🤜🤛🇺🇸
Marshall came up with Slim but realized some of the shit he said using the persona as an excuse were gonna push buttons so he molded both personalities into Eminem in an attempt to still skid the borderline between Marshall and Slim but not be as controversial. Eminem is the GOAT.
Eminem is not on this album, is Slim vs Marshall, the Slim vs Marshal interview thing, also mentions this a the end Marshall says "we're doing this for Eminem and the fans"
So, I think a lot of people are getting confused with the different personas. Marshall Mathers is the person, just the guy. Sometimes he comes through in his personal songs. Eminem is the rapper, he is the mix of Marshall and Slim. He gets personal but still mixes in some shock value to exaggerate his point. Slim Shady is the pure shock value, cartoon character which sometimes reveals a bit of the personal side. Eminem and Marshall are usually pretty much the same though. They generally are just one. So this album is mostly just Slim Shady and Eminem, with Slim Shady slowly corrupting Eminem via drugs, alcohol, the bleaching of the hair etc. Since Eminem is literally his name spelled out (Marshall Mathers = M + M = Eminem) then when Slim says Marshall, he's just talking about Eminem.
First, hi Karen, hi! You're awesome! 5:10 the way I see it is in more of the psychoanalytic way? ⏺️ Id : Slim Shady; the part of the psyche without a filter, Impulsive, darker, more base, instinctual type actions/desires; the "devil" ⏺️ Superego: Marshall; the part that is more of the idealist, wishes to follow the rules, doesn't like hurting others etc; the angel ⏺️ Ego: Eminem (irony of ironies....the ego is defined as the psyche's "showman"; this is the usual end result, the face we tend to show the world, a bit of I'd and ego; the human 8:27 nah do your thing/eff deaf people, yeah (Marshall) Well between you and me...I think they've had it up to here with me, too (Shady) What the eff? (Marshall) Sorry I'm not as perfect as you, Marshall (Shady obviously) 15:47 precisely. It's because again...because according to the above, you can't really excise that part of you. You CAN learn to tame it.
This album is Marshall and slim the whole way through, you can kind of say that when they fuse towards the end u prolly call that eminem. In " the face off they were actually talking bout it @cliff beats
When i listen to this this is song slim got em mind.when he walk up after dreamed he is no marshal its slim.thats why he laugh at last.when we play album reverse song more like structured.just look at songs album intro is he only time slim rapped whole song.its not the end its just the beginings
when I first watched the Complex Faceoff with Em and Slim .... first thing I thought of or hoping was that he may drop a video for Guilty Conscience 2 ....... wishful thinking
Marshall took the gun. But it was a dream. Marshall actually killing slim would literally be suicide. That's why he says "murder suicide". And before dying in a dream, typically you wake up. Otherwise... You wouldn't wake up.
I like that Karen keeps her introduction different with each video 😂 We like Karen.
SHES GOTTA WATCH THE SLIM VS MARSHALL INTERVIEW. Looking forward to that reaction
yessssss
I just noticed at the end of song sketch,he pronounces Reeves with an S,meaning it was Slim that called 100%,since Marshal does point out that S in not to be pronounced in their face off so he is saying it wrong.
When he blends Slim and Em together to get that demonic tone, god damn man, Em is a lyrical genius, no one will ever be on his level, Period.
Facts and people say Kendrick and j cole are on his level ya right
"Nobody likes your lyrical miracles. You are scaring the ho's" Slim Shady to Marshall
I get shivers every time when they merge.
We need a music video badly.
@@jessedavis1741I mean Eminem said himself that Kendrick is in Lucifer the song
I swear Karen turned into the dead emoji 💀 with the deaf people 😂😂
I’ve listened to this track dozens of times and I giggle aloud to that line every fucking time.

You’ve gotta show Karen Castle and Arose. I know she’d really appreciate the artistry in those two
The voice change i don't think it's all of them at the same time i think it's just the darker slim like in his song " My darling "
Or from the track" The Way I Am"
@@Siggi20 the way i am is marshall though its on the marshall mathers lp
Think this is my favourite song off the album. Just really enjoy the concept of this one.

My favorite song, storytelling wise of the album everything about it was fun to experience
Love you guys together. Great reaction
Rear naked choke hold is my all time favorite line
The original GC had some good storytelling, but I think this one is both musically better and more entertaining.
My understanding is “Eminem” is a culmination of “Marshall” and “Slim Shady”
Theres an old clip where em explains how he sees the three
Eminem is the artist. Marshal is the person. Slim shady is the alter ego
Love your girls reactions bring her back
My favorite from the album
I've been waiting for this one 😁
