Don't worry about the Danger Level, Retro! Happy to see gameplay at any danger. The more fun builds are harder to make work in high danger I've noticed.
Armor % works fine is you do math. Imagine you have 75% dmg reduction. 100 dmg will cut to 25. Add 5% to your reduction and now you will take 20 dmg. Which is 20% less than 25 dmg. So 5% more reduction cut dmg taken by 20%.
i made sure to pick up a single ghost flint at the start. by wave 20 i had almost 100% extra attack speed from that alone. this character is pretty good
@@GavlockX Get some nice piercing on it, maybe a few other weapons to help keep good damage or maybe some good ranged damage upgrades. Should be a very good build
9:31 Okay, I'm in no way actually mad: but that was probably the most hilarious thing I've seen you do in Brotato in a while. LOL Just the silence. Knowing that you're envisioning all of the UA-cam comments. I see them scrolling by in the reflection of your glasses as you stare at the screen. "I CRINGE WHEN..." "Why do I even watch this guy?!" "How can this guy even win a run?" "Hey guys, who even are we? Are we even real? Is anything even real?" "STREAMER WHY"
26:15 Well, going from 68% less damage taken to 72% less damage taken is an effective change of 12.5% less damage taken. If a hit would normally do 100 damage without armor, at 68% that's 32 damage, while at 72% it's 28 damage, a change of 12.5%. As an extreme example, going from 98% to 99% less damage taken might seem tiny, but that would halve the amount of damage taken. All this to say, while there definitely seems to be diminishing returns to armor it doesn't appear to be as extreme as it might look at first glance.
Congrats on your first danger 5 victory! I'd say play on lower difficulty to get to know all classes and builds and when you encounter a broken build, try beating it on danger 5
I say do whatever danger level you have fun with, then if some build seems absolutely busted, you try that same build on danger level 5 for a future run
I actually used 6 Circular Saws (even got them all to T4 on the final bosses) while stacking Armor and Attack Speed. It's insanely broken. I could afk during the whole fight after equipping the 4th saw and I only had to focus when doing the final bosses. But despite going all out-healing I managed to kill both bosses, I didn't try running.
I just unlocked the character u win for having - 5% regen, is kinda hard cause there are so few items that give the minus, the ones i get are: hedgehog, broken mouth, suspicious cocoction and poisonous tonic
@@Retromation Yeah this isn’t what it is I don’t think. I’m pretty sure it was showing 18 armor while moving and 76 sword damage and then 24 armor while standing still for also 76 sword damage. Not sure how the passive is applied, but maybe it doesn’t update based on in-run stats? Probably a glitch if that’s the case.
I am kinda glad that a melee character is one of the strongest in the game, with range being so much stronger . also it seems like enemies can't spawn where you are standing, may be worth it to stand on their spawn when you kill a clump of hosts if you can
Hey dude, the thing with armor is that, it buffs -40% dmg taken for 5 armor, and -66% for 20 armor... so the Knight isn't that good. Because just taking 5 armor with any other character will gives you lots of dmg reduction, and you can get melee damage buff from other sources. Also, with high attack speed and/or fast weapons, and lifesteal, you can get easily get +6hp/s. With 20% life steal, 5 hits/s is +1hp/sec. Just one Minigun is +4hp/s !! Ghost Flints + 20% lifesteal + 5-8 amor + 20 hp = unkillable. Get some flat melee damage, and the game becomes way too easy, even at difficulty 5 :D And it works with almost every character.... You can get more than +300% attack speed with Ghost Flints. That's also 3x more damage ! That's just insane !!
My recommendation: stick to danger 1 or 2 most the time, go for danger 0 for builds that are trash but funny, and do high danger levels if you have a really broken build that you want to push to its limit or want more of a challenge. Definitely doesn't need to be every time though unless you get so good at dodging that you never take damage anyways.
Ok here's the math for there not beeing deminishing returns: Formula: Effective HP= (1+(armor/10))*HP Meaning having 10 HP and 5 armor (1+(5/10))*10=15 10HP and 10 armor (1+(10/10))*10=20 10 HP and 20 armor (1+(20/10))*10=30 10 HP and 30 armor (1+(30/10))*10=40 THERE ARE NO DIMINISHING RETURNS. And again, that makes sense. 50% damage reduction doubles your ehp. While 75% quadruples it. So the damage reduction has to go down for the armor to scale linear. This is the same as League of Legends or other games using an armor system in this way
I'm curious why you never buy the Bag upgrade (+20 mat when you pick up a crate)? It pays for itself almost immediately and then just stacks a ton of money over a run, i don't see any downsides
I don't get why people get a aneurism when people don't play on the highest difficulty, especially when they just check out a new guy, like we are here to see what the new guy can do not to see if we can beat death mode with no items and upgrades
Yesterday I had broken run, I got the legenday item that gives 100% material atraction and a bunch o cute monkeys, I was unkillable cause this way of healing have no internal cooldown so I was constantly healing like 10hp a second at least, it wa fun
For the stationary stat buff not showing in the menu, I wonder if you're considered stationary the moment you open the menu. In which case moving and opening the menu wouldn't show the "moving" stats.

FYI, the stray "spawned" enemies seem to be from blocking their spawn actually causing them to show up elsewhere.
Lowkey feel like if you do the demon, etheral sceptor is a nice idea cause it gives max hp every good amount of kills
Not even low key. It just seems really good

Add some medical weapons to regen / lifesteal

The thing didn't upgrade your damage when you stand still you gain armor I think it was 6
My guess for why the armor doesn't show is you are always standing still when pause so it shows as always applied
it doesn't do that for other stand still to gain stat items though
