  • An in-depth tutorial on making a template, cutting, sewing and installing a seat cover in a 1995 Toyota truck.
    The technique demonstrated here will work for an upholstery overhaul in any vehicle.
    This seat cover is made with thrifted and leftover project fabrics- it's been chosen to be unique and stand out! And why not use what you already have?
    The cover is held in place with a drawstring, tied under the seat to hold it tightly in place. It is easily removed for washing.
    Thanks for watching!

    Fits perfectly rear-facing in our truck, which has a slightly smaller back seats. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx6_FKRYB2ClSPRyjcd8HptiCS3EiQoNX4 Feels as comfy and plush as our Graco Contender carseat

    Great video,I saw where someone used clear plastic to mark out the seat pattern, but I like how you made the pattern. I’m looking to make seat covers for my son’s car as well. I hope your son appreciated you making those seat covers

      Plastic is an interesting choice, coming from a traditionally trained sewing point of view, paper (or fabric) is always my go to- I want to be able to write on the pattern too.

    My son just got a Tacoma! and the darn driver's seat needs love, I brainstormed with a friend and decided that Mexican blanket material would be best, this is LITERALLY perfect. Ha! The wacky 2/3, 1/3 seat situation in this truck was what inspired the DIY. In a world where you can buy literally everything, this seat is the exception. We could not find a premade cover for this setup and I’m willing to bet you couldn’t either. Best of luck on making the cover- happy I could help!

    I just needed one for the driver's seat alone. Not the back. So I took an outdoor chair cushion I had that was thin enough and sewed ties to the back corners. Tied the ties together around the seat in the back. Works perfect. I was going to sew my own, but I found this cushion in the garage, and thought "Wow!" Now I only have to sew ties to it.

    • @NoelleODesigns
      @NoelleODesigns  2 роки тому

    • @julienielsen3746

      @@NoelleODesigns I finally figured out I could just make a cover for just the seat instead of the seat with the back, and I was looking for fabric to use in my garage when I spotted the outdoor chair cushion. Bingo ! I found some fabric to make the ties out of and sewed them on the sewing machine to the cushion. Wish I had thought about this years ago when I notice some wear starting on the seat. I've been using a towel because I couldn't find seat covers that seemed to fit right that weren't expensive. And It seemed too hard to make the whole seat cover.
