    in the last 10 seconds you say that "f(a) and f(b) are NOT equal", thats a mistake right?

      No actually, f(a) and f(b) cannot be equal for the Intermediate Value Theorem to apply. If they were equal, the start point and end point would be the same, and there wouldn’t be any “intermediate values” between the two.
