It has some of the best animation as well. Call of the Primatives Dweller in the depths Web World. My top 3 animated episode in season three, with Call having the best animation during the entire western G1 run.
Virtual Wrestling Entertainment Yeah that is something I couldn't figure out....some of season 3 had fantastic animation like in the eps you mentioned...but then...it had some REAL clunkers. I am not sure they got a boost of cash for some eps or not. I think some of the stories in season 3 were really well done as well along with some big stinkers. The problem with season 3 though was that the writers had ripped the heart out of Transformers with the movie killing off so MANY established characters that kids no longer had foundation characters to still reference in S3. I think moving it off Earth so much also didn't help.
well it did have legendary comics writer Len Wein and legendary Star Trek novel writer Diane Duane (who drew upon previous experience as a nurse in a psychiatric hospital), so yeah, OF COURSE it was good. :D
At the time Hasbro, Marvel and Sunbow took a huge loss after the My little pony and transformers movie bombed at the box office, in order to save the GI Joe movie they made it into a minisseries and released it direct to video, as a result many of Season 3's episodes had to be made at AKOM's, with the occasional Toei episode, thankfully the writing saves most of the episodes.

Galvatron was completely nuts, but Cyclonus' idiocy was unparalelled. How or why does he always choose to put up with his psychotic master and serve him regardless, we have no idea.
When Cyclonus was created from Skywarp he was reformatted. That reformatting would have made his personality entirely subservient to Galvatron. The Galvatron and Cyclonus relationship is an inverse of the Megatron and Starscream relationship

Peri clod it was the result of being dipped in plasma. It ended up seeping into his head and caused him to become more irrational and completely insane.
I was so happy at the end of The Return of Optimus Prime when it seemed like the Matrix restored Galvatron to the way he was so he had the same sane personality as he did in Transformers the Movie. ... Rebirth was so disappointing when I saw Galvatron was still insane. .. But, without disloyal Starscream to mess things up, I suppose Galvatron's insanity is the only thing that saves the Autobots. Transformers The Movie showed a sane Galvatron easily defeats the Autobots.
AGREED. Webworld was one of my favorites. Very little Autobot presence in the beginning. However mostly Galvatron and the Decepticons handling their affairs. A great change of pace. I don't think there was an episode like it honestly. :)

this was a pretty intense and well done depiction of someone in a psychotic episode. it's actually very uncomfortable to watch today. i work in mental health now, too
The mentality difference between Megatron and Galvatron is amazing. Galvatron being so much more chaotic/crazy before later writers came up with Unicron being the avatar of chaos. I definitely prefer Megatron to Galvatron. (In Gen 1, Unicron wasn't even a god of sorts. He was created by Primacron that rebelled and grew on his own)
There wasn't really a difference. Galvatron was even more imposing during the movie. He's only reduced to a screeching chaotic wreck because the logic circuits in his head got fried. Plus, it was probably to avoid having to have someone as price-y as Leonard Nimoy be a regular on this show, so they ditched the menacing voice and demeanor for, well, this.
Believe it or not, Galvatron was originally conceived as a character separate from Megatron. He was to play the role of Decepticon City Commander, just as Ultra Magnus was Autobot City Commander. This was evident in the Japanese OVA Scramble City: Mobilization, which was made as an ad hoc continuity patch-up job as the movie wouldn't be released in Japan until 1989 (continuity patch-ups and errors persisted into Headmasters and Victory).
The G1 Comics (particularly the ones by Simon Furman) really play up the fact that Galvatron is a) Literally Unstoppable and Unbeatable, and b) *COMPLETELY* Insane In those tales though, it’s not so much the fact of him having been found face down, lying in (effectively) a pool of molten lava that damaged his brain, turning him into a complete, delusional lunatic as it is the fact of his defeat at the hands of Rodimus Prime (and perhaps, his own failure to master or access it’s power), and the humiliation of suffering that defeat that caused him to suffer a complete psychotic break - in short, driving him completely ga-ga. Which is really saying something, and must provide you with some idea of just the gargantuan scale of his Ego and Prideful Self-Image, when you remember that it was a defeat which *no-one saw...*
I honestly just felt really bad for Galvatron. Unicron really tore Megatron apart. The episode where Cyclonus gets so honestly worried about him and tries to get him therapy waa easily one of my favorite S3 episodes. And learning that his processor is just screwed up beyond repair, idk makes him sad, which makes him a bit more interesting than Megatron if they had done more with it. The Decepticons in general in S3 are just kinda...sad and pitiful.
I like how, even completely and fucking insane and off his rocker, Galvatron is very much aware of how shit Sweeps are as soldiers, and just laughs at Cyclonus when he's like "The Sweeps and I shall be your Elite Guard!"
Lol which Sweeps? The movie incarnation that were menacing and did their job better than before? Or the S3 sweeps that like Galvatron were neutered for plot purposes?

"But he's a ghost!"
"DIE YOU WORTHLESS"

TheKnightOfSmite The way Cyclonus says "Mighty Galvatron, what us that?" Is also pretty funny.
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥👾✈️💥💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥 That’s how Starscream got to beast wars
EAT FRESH Yep. Galvatron killed Starscream so brutally his spark went back in time.
I still laugh about the part when Unicron restores Starscream in return for that one last favour, and as soon as he gets what he wants he just drops what he's doing and tells Unicron "do it yourself"
Superion866 you must have balls of the shiniest brass to do that to the devil of your religion
Isn't Prozac a medicine used to treat depression?! What Galvatron really needs is a straightjacket he can't break out of.
No straight jacket in the universe is strong enough to keep Galvatron contained.
All the medications in the universe won't cure Galvatron's demented metal brain! 🧠🔌
They tried that.....he developed a tolerance for that.
Or optimus prime as his companion.
An sadistic madman mets his match with an humble and patient leader with an balls of steel.
He needs ketamine lol
"So Scourge is helping Starscream voluntarily; and you four were unable to stop them? Well, all I can say is...."

LMAO, classic Galvatron. Loves it. :)
So....scourge is helping star scream voluntarily, then you allowed them to use astrotrain as their escape vehicle and you four wasn't able to stop them....well all I got to say is .....AAAAAAAAAAAGH! ....(Galvatron fires his cannon at them)

All the therapy in the universe won't cure Galvatron's demented metal brain! 🔌
That's why i loved Galvatron so much, he was so much scarier than Megatron because you never knew who would piss him off just by looking at him funny. Just like the Joker, he would kill one of his henchmen just because it would make him laugh.
I have a feeling Cyclonus regrets looking for Galvatron
No, he dosen’t regret saving Galvatron. He’s just surprised he found him in such an unstable state, still Galvatron was the leader of the Decepticons and so he followed him. Needless to say, taking Galvatron for psychiatric treatment was a pretty smart move, the Decepticon needed a leader, instead of some rage filled madman going in straight into battle without thinking, Unfortunately, when the Torkuli used up all options, they had to resort to lobotomize Galvatron. Cyclonus knee as a result Galvatron wouldn’t be able to lead the Decepticons as a mindless vegetable. Unfortunately, when the planet tried to do that, interest of lobotomizing him, the planet ended up cracking and Galvatron was broken free, then decided to destroy Torkulon’s civilization, with Galvatron planning on killing the survivors before Cyclonus mentioned they have the Autobots to deal, thankfully stopping Galvatron from completely destroying the planet’s surviving inhabitants.
3:25 That part where Galvatron runs in space and runs like he's skipping or something is ridiculously funny.
"but this is a democracy, i don't have to bow to anyone" haha Galvatron shut that down hard!
butcher bane If he were human Galvatron would be the next president of the United States.
Great point.

And I for one would welcome our new Decepticon Overlords. :)
Splattercat TO THE EMPIRE!!!
Shut that shit down Negan style.
The lava changed his voice, that's one of the reasons he's crazy.
That’s a cool way to explain it
I guess Frank Welker was in the lava and stole Galvatron’s voice
In reality, I’m pretty sure they could not get Nimoy onto the show so they got Frank Welker back.
@@K.C.-Games they couldbt afford nimoy after the movie
@@K.C.-Games I can't imagine Nimoy doing the crazy galvatron voice. Sane Galvatron yes, but insane with all of those laughs? I can't see Nimoy doing that.

lol
Whichever body Megatron has he seems to have a long history of domestic abuse, granted Starscream was a traitor but poor Cyclonus did nothing wrong.
He did.He's a mini vehicle.
+smegel limes maybe that's why screamer started trying to overthrow megs he might have been loyal at first but got tired of taking the blame and getting beat maybe if the series progressed cyclonus might have would have betrayed Galvatron how much abuse can you take
He probably was an ambitious snake by nature.Although, his IDW incarnation stated that he respected Megatron until he realized that what he felt wasn't respect,it was actually fear.
megatron ate shit from starscream constantly, occasionally giving him a beat down when he crosses the line, but is generally nice to his loyal servants.
galvatron literally just beats the crap out of his loyal servants while they beg him to stop lol, such a drastic change in sanity.
I totally agree!
Webworld was one of the best 3rd season episodes. Had a good story and some of the best lines by Galvatron.
And written by Len Wein, the creator of Wolverine, at that.
It has some of the best animation as well.
Call of the Primatives
Dweller in the depths
Web World.

Galvatron: Attack!Cyclonus: Attack who?Galvaton: *EVERYONE!*
Also Galvatron: Everyone's gone mad. This is no place for ME!
🤣🤣🤣
Galvatron is insane and he is less rational compared to Megatron.
What gave that away
@@GameTavern2224 Megatron was more rational because he was more of a no B.S. type of decepticon. He tried to maintain order while Galvatron would just shoot his own men for almost no reason.

It truly makes you wonder how much of Megatron is still rattling around in that processor of his with all the changes Unicron forced upon him and his mental instability
it’s almost sad, really, that the mighty Megatron was reduced to a babbling, insane madman
This is fantastic, I never realized how daffy Galvatron was. "To be a winner!! Because I believe in meeeeee!"
Galvatron was completely nuts, but Cyclonus' idiocy was unparalelled. How or why does he always choose to put up with his psychotic master and serve him regardless, we have no idea.
He can't escape the dude.
When Cyclonus was created from Skywarp he was reformatted. That reformatting would have made his personality entirely subservient to Galvatron. The Galvatron and Cyclonus relationship is an inverse of the Megatron and Starscream relationship
in love with him
Becuase mf can blow apart a planet on a whim. They don’t call him Mighty Galvatron for nothing
i think Megatron has gone mad over the years, cyclonus was the most loyal decepticon ever not only taking the abuse of Galvatron but the shots from him too
Peri clod it was the result of being dipped in plasma. It ended up seeping into his head and caused him to become more irrational and completely insane.
I prefer soundwave over cyclonus he was most loyal to the decepticons and he was totally badass in the the prime series
You forgot armada starscream
Daniel Ko and cybertron starscream, he fought his creator (primus) twice and survived
As a kid I hated Galvatron because of the unhinged nutcase he had become. But as an adult I completely relate
So too did the comics make a sane Galvatron overpowered beyond belief.
Which comics?
5:04. Got me as a kid. Still gets me now.
Galvatron needs his own series

@CIA Informant 1234566533256666 IDW Megatron (Fred Tatasciore):"Galvatron? You put Galvatron in charge?"
AGREED. Webworld was one of my favorites. Very little Autobot presence in the beginning. However mostly Galvatron and the Decepticons handling their affairs. A great change of pace. I don't think there was an episode like it honestly. :)

Not to mention IDW Galvatron was a racist towards Headmasters and others
I love how in every medium BUT the cartoons Galvatron is an engine of destruction and madness.

"There is no reasoning for him! Destroy him! He's lost his mind!"
- said a dude who can't be reasoned with and has utterly lost his mind
So scourge is helping them voluntarily, and you were unable to stop them. Well all I can say is "aaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!"
this was a pretty intense and well done depiction of someone in a psychotic episode. it's actually very uncomfortable to watch today. i work in mental health now, too
One time l saw a bio of megatron and galvatron, megatron got no weakness while galvatron got some temper issue
This was evident in the Japanese OVA Scramble City: Mobilization, which was made as an ad hoc continuity patch-up job as the movie wouldn't be released in Japan until 1989 (continuity patch-ups and errors persisted into Headmasters and Victory).
really i didn't know that you taught me something today. wonder why they changed it into him being megatron to galvatron
+William Jones Probably because the names sound so similar, and it would give Hasbro an excuse to discontinue Megatron to make way for new product.
It was actually a misinformation campaign by the creators so the audience wouldn’t known the twist
Yeah, there is art showing Magnus fighting Galvatron while Optimus fights Megatron.
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer this one is right
I kind of get the feeling if Cyclonus served under the original Megatron instead of Starscream that the Decepticons would have won the war.
Galvatron was probably the funniest transformer ever....This had me going a few times LOL
The G1 Comics (particularly the ones by Simon Furman) really play up the fact that Galvatron is
a) Literally Unstoppable and Unbeatable, and
b) *COMPLETELY* Insane
In those tales though, it’s not so much the fact of him having been found face down, lying in (effectively) a pool of molten lava that damaged his brain, turning him into a complete, delusional lunatic as it is the fact of his defeat at the hands of Rodimus Prime (and perhaps, his own failure to master or access it’s power), and the humiliation of suffering that defeat that caused him to suffer a complete psychotic break - in short, driving him completely ga-ga.
Which is really saying something, and must provide you with some idea of just the gargantuan scale of his Ego and Prideful Self-Image, when you remember that it was a defeat which *no-one saw...*
Galvatron so insane he literally infected a planet that was designed to cure madness with his own madness.

5:11 not only is this possibly the most self-aware joke of the 1980s but it also pretty much convinces me Season 3 was actually ahead of its time
I honestly just felt really bad for Galvatron.
