Great video of the Woodcock John and Pam. Only been able to view it on phone prior to this evening. The background sounds of the Black Grouse and Cuckoo make you feel as though we were right there. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Martin. It's good to get your feedback as very few people comment. We think that people don't realise how much work is involved in the whole process. Never mind, we enjoy seeing the finished product.

Very nice cinematography! You never notice how pretty the patterns on these bobbing babies are until you get high quality footage such as this.

Thanks for the nice comment. The footage shown is supposed to be 4k, but there is a lot of compression by UA-cam which does degrade it. Cheers and take care.

Beautiful birds. Plenty around where I live. Tend to only see them when they are flying around. Great video.

It was a fantastic experience, the birds were about 10ft from the car. It was very foggy and when it cleared we then saw the beds. Thank you for taking the time ti comment.

Fabulous video! I've been filming birds in Britain since the 1970s and only managed to get Woodcock in daylight once, on the Isles of Scilly in October 1987. Obviously that footage on Super-8 cine film is nowhere near the quality of yours in 4k video! I'm now videoing in 4k and still hoping to capture Woodcock in daylight. To me, your video is a once in a lifetime moment, just like my capture of a Nightjar singing in daylight in the New Forest in 2009----see at ua-cam.com/video/kxwn2AmjmLM/v-deo.html Congratulations on a really memorable piece of perfect video!

Thanks Alan for your lovely comment. We've had a look at your Nightjar and you did well to get so close. We think we may have also have seen the Woodcock you mentioned which we think was visible in a ploughed field. The pair of Woodcock we filmed was a chance sighting from the car and as you say was a once in a lifetime moment. Wonderful experience. Thank you again.

They're cute fellas, but they don't have the groove or the peent of their brethren on the western side of the pond.

Thanks for your comment, I don't think we will ever get the chance of seeing the American Woodcock, which is a shame. Take good care, cheers.

@@johnandpamhallwildlifevide5524I'm just glad they have a similar bouncy walk as their US counterparts, that's what makes me laugh. I know they're bigger but they tap their feet the same to bring worms, insects to the surface. Their funny walk is also involved in their mating dance.....
