Wayne is such a cool dude . When i was 17 years old I moved to NW 16 street in OKC , Wayne lived about 2 blocks away from me . We would talk on occasions . When they recorded Clouds Taste Metallic I toured studio 7 with Dave (studio owner) and got to see my first real rock star recording set up , Ronald Jones had so many pedals lining the floors .... Being a kid from the ghetto he (wayne) really helped understand how i had the power to change my own environment to better myself . He literally opened his door to me any time i wanted to talk.

The lyrics kinda take me back to the early to mid 90s Flaming Lips. Pretty solid track.
A bit, yeh. And the music sounds like it's tuning up to the sound of an old AM radio, which is admittedly a pretty weird comment.

To think this came out in covid ridden times, the fateful 2020... Music releases in that very recent year were nothing short of heroic given the circumstances.
I luv the touching simplicity of the videoclip and the music. The Lips have become famous for their extravaganza, but when they craft something simple and moving, it can be incredibly beautiful and heart-rending.

Glad I just drunkenly started watching Flaming Lips music videos a week ago, I think I would've missed this album by a year or two.
Yeah, I got burned out on the lips years ago, but this sounds cool.
Wayne's experimental sound recording years lost me. But this makes me remember why I loved them.
Damn, it's hard to believe that it's already been a year since this album came out. Honestly I wasn't super crazy about it at first but I like it more and more with each listen. It amazes me how consistently great all of the Flaming Lips albums are. They never stop being creative or change so much that they lose their old appeal either like so many bands do.
That second verse hit like a brick as opposed to the first but that is what they do best. Emotion love/death vibes wrapped together beautifully crafted and slapped together all naturally synthetic. ifyouknowwhatimean

@@sonicleaves They were soooo goood last summer! I saw them in Asbury Park right across the street from the beach! It was sooo beautiful! I'm sure the Lucy I danced w that night helped allot LOL! Meet Wayne and Les Claypool after the show. They BOTH drew cartoons on BOTH set lists! Cause I caught one of each at the end of each show... Les Claypool kind of a dick that night... Maybe he had a bad night I dunno just sayin. But Wayne! He's such a beautiful human being!!! He's soooo nice! Come!!! Get the VIP before the show! Done it a few times def worth the extra 50$
Saw them in Portland in the early 90s - it was my first show. Small venue. The entire visual aspect of the show consisted of each band member being wrapped in Christmas lights. What a great show.

Getting this record was like getting a treasure, and impeccable quality, on vinyl, beautiful stuff man, an extremely moving album, I haven't been so hyped by any new songs in longer than I can remember, an I'm close to 40..it seems so personal like they were writing about my life too! Thank the Lord for the Lips...and Bob Dylan of course

Can’t wait for the new album. Latest songs are strong enough to be performed with single acoustic guitar and Wayne’s singing. That the whole band is behind them is outstanding. Go Lips!

Side note: I was lucky enough to be part of the local crew when the Flaming Lips played in Victoria, BC in 2012 at the Rifflandia Festival. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the whole experience was! The band and their crew were really cool and interacted with every one of us as we put together their crazy stage show. We found confetti in our gear for years afterwards!
Enjoyed all the times I met the 💋. They all real and very down to earth. 🎈🎈🎈🎈spent a few days blowing up balloons 🎈for then for a New Years Eve gig in OKC.

I just started listening to the Flaming lips a month ago, i got to know them because of the song "Go" They did with Mark Linkous of sparklehorse, which is an also amazing band and my favorite. Never seen something quite like the Flaming lips' music in the same way that I haven't seen music like the one mark linkous made
