Having both Priest and Maiden on one single stage together would be a metal dream come true!
They are in talks to try and get it done but they can't figure out how to stabilize the universe from the awesomeness of the talent and risk of the uinverse imploding from the sheer talent all in place
add Black Sabbath, and its the perfect trio.
@@LadyFairChildVideo yeah sabbath, a true support band who couldn't live with either maiden or priest
Try going to a catholic church. You might see a Proest and a Maiden on the stage.
Epic is not a big enough adjective. It would be like when Savage and Hulk Hogan formed the MegaPowers
Steve is one of the nicest most humble people you ever want to meet. Did an interview in college with him during the album virtual xi and we had 15 minutes with him but he ended up talking to me and my co host for over an hour as he puts it, “it’s nice to talk to actual maiden fans instead of someone that just asks the same questions over and over.” Still have that interview on mini disk
@Ben Dover And your point? It was the mid to late 90s, every old school metal band had low points in popularity at that time. Now they're back to playing arenas and stadiums and debuting in the top 10 with new albums. Your half assed jab is pointless.
That is so cool to hear. Steve is my #1 hero and influence for playing bass and writing, usually with galloping rhythms that piss our guitarist off when we make him play those at the start of the set, heh heh.
One hears of famous people that lose sight of us regular mortals, and I can only hope to meet Mr. Harris someday. It's mind-blowing how much he's accomplished!
@Ben Dover LOL this guy
put it on UA-cam! I'd love to hear it!
Yeah, it would be fantastic if you put it in youtube
Hats off to Steve Harris for defending Point of entry. Such a good album.
The weakest Judas Priest album.
@@taomahNEGEV Even Rob says so in his book. They all phoned it in.
Even the weakest Judas Priest album is still very good. This says a lot about the band.
I seem to like Judas Priest's weak albums. Point of Entry and Turbo are both good.
It’s weird because British Steel is such a tight, Energetic album. Same with screaming for vengeance. Maybe those are the last two really good priest albums for me… They brought their a game.
Priest and Maiden touring together - like a heavy metal wet dream.
World needs it more than ever.
🎸🇬🇧British Metal Empire🇬🇧🎸
And maybe Accept or Saxon opening up for them. Pleasee
@@IronMaidenDoD You have it the wrong way round. Priest and Maiden would open for Saxon.
@@TheHintonator no i think ive got it right.
So gentle, this guy. And Steve is also a good character!
I saw Maiden back in 1976 at the legendary Cart and Horses pub in Stratford East London. My mate Paul Mario Day was singing for them. I didn't even know he sang for a rock band. Nobody knew back then just how big Maiden were going to become. I wish I could remember more about that evening. I just remember entering the pub and the first few minutes of being surprised at seeing my friend singing up on stage for a heavy metal band. Sadly nothing more 😟
same here, those were the days
That would’ve been pretty cool… Incidentally, Paul Bruce Dickinson’s first name really is Paul, so the band has had three of them singing at least! Bit of trivia there…
@@j_freed I remember going over West Ham FC with Paul Dianno ( Real name Paul Taylor) to watch West Ham v Newcastle. Also Steve Loopy Newhouse was with us. Maiden drum technician in the days to come. All pre Iron Maiden days. Little did we know what the future held 😨😱
The birthplace of Iron Maiden it says on the door, good to see its still there.
Queremos provas
Glad to hear Steve praise PoE here, a mighty fine Priest record and strangely underrated, first one I bough of theirs along with Maiden's Killers. Fantastic release year for so many classic bands.
Heading out to the highways the only song I’d call a big hitter on it , it’s also buried between British steel and and screaming for vengeance . I think it’s a bit of a deep cut as far as their albums go
@@megaduck7965 Heading out to the Highway is a great track, but the album also has Hot Rockin', Desert Plains, and Solar Angels as well, which I consider all to be Preist classics.
I also have a soft spot for Turning Circles. All the Way is a pretty good throwaway song; Nothing mind-blowing, but a pretty solid pop-metal song.
That year was loaded with classics: Killers, Diary of a Madman by Ozzy, Fair Warning by Van Halen, The Mob Rules by Sabbath, Too Fast for Love by Crüe, No Sleep til Hammersmith by Motörhead
I seen Maiden open for Priest in 82, St. Louis, MO, first row center, with my snuck in camera. Best concert ever.
with the checkerdome cut in half.
Noice!
Download that sucker on this channel dude!
Wow they both dropped classics that year, Number of The Beast and Screaming for Vengeance. Arguably their finest efforts
@@steverogers2732 Those were the first two "metal" albums I'd ever heard, and it was when they first came out, with the exception of my buddies sister's Black Sabbath Master Of Reality. If anyone were to ask me what album or two would define Heavy Metal, it would be those two to do the job!
"Desert Plains" is my favorite song off Point of Entry, and one of their most underrated songs of all time (Steeler of British Steel being the other), in my opinion.
Saw Priest on opening night of their current tour in Reading, PA. Was shocked they played Desert Plains!
Desert Plains is a killer track!
Yup. That’s a great song. I love putting in that album at the start of a road trip.
Steeler is such an awesome song, the synchronized guitar work at the end always gets me headbanging
Heelll yeahhh!!! Desert Plains makes me wanna be like cruising through the desert in a muscle car blasting Priest! It's probably my all time favorite priest song!
@@ramon2008 Hell yeah
I saw Maiden opening for Priest in Albany, NY in 1981 and then again in Glens Falls, NY in 1982. I was 11 for the first one and my stepdad took me, then the next year my mom took me. Awesome shows, and I've been a metalhead ever since.
Saw the same tour in Phoenix and remember buying t-shirts for both bands. Priest Point of Entry and Maiden Killers. I would have paid to see Priest regardless of who was opening. As they had already put out several very successful metal albums.
@@sashasavisha146
I was only 11 and had just recently heard both bands for the first time.
Saw Great White open for Priest. It was either Screaming for Vengeance or Defenders of the Faith. I’ll never forget Jack Russell’s first line to the crowd was “We’re Great White from England.” LOL... they’re from Los Angeles.
@@sashasavisha146
It was probably the Defenders tour - I saw the Screaming concert in Glens Falls, NY and Maiden opened. Great White didn't even had an album out at that time.
Steve Harris is a genius for making Iron Maiden :-) UP THE IRONS!!!!!!! \m/ \m/ ROCK ON!!!!!!!
For music yes Harris is the genius but marketing wist manager Rid Smallwood is a genius as Maiden won't be as successful without him.
Iron Maiden & Judas Priest are the worlds best heavy metal bands in United Kingdom & the worlds.
Steve is a class act
Just wait. If this happens Eddie will never stop saying: "I made it happen!"
Actually, there was a caller on his radio show who asked him what he thought about the idea of a Priest-Maiden co-headlining tour, and Eddie said it couldn't happen because Iron Maiden is a much more successful band than Judas Priest these days.
@@TheJohnnyCotts They'd call it that out of respect, but Maiden will always be the closer.
That would be a dream come true for me. Seen them both plenty of times, but never on the same bill 🤘🏼
Genius of Bass!
I saw that same tour in May 1981 at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, NY. Earlier that same month I saw Motorhead ( No Sleep) open for Ozzy with Randy, Sarzo and Aldrige. Man- the Golden Era!!!
My mate told me that he went to see judas priest at the sheffield City Hall and supporting them were Iron Maiden many many years ago and he said every one in the audience were saying how good Maiden were and that Maiden would go on to be massive how right they were up the Irons Lee Hambleton from Sheffield
Only problem way that video is its not long enough. Always love to hear Steve and his thoughts never seem to hear enough of him.
I was at the Asbury Park show on that tour
The Brain of Iron Maiden
We will support you guys over here in the US! Please make this happen!
Dude Id love to see a Priest/Maiden double header, but it would have to be Judas Priest first. And it needs to be a solid 2.5 hour set from each band, maybe a 30 minute intermission
Saw both bands (and many others) playing at the Gods of Metal in Italy back in 2008. Unforgettable.
I have an interview picture disc of Steve Harris recorded some time after the World Slavery Tour in '85. He said something to the effect of, "Maiden's writing is mostly from the bass while Judas Priest write from the guitars. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, it's just different."
I think it would be an epic combination for a concert, especially if Bruce and Rob end the show with the song they recorded together a while back!
I'd love to also hear Maiden play a Priest song and Priest play a Maiden song. That would be awesome stuff
Well which songs should it be??? Revelations for Priest and Savage or Nightcrawler for Maiden
Maiden + Priest + Helloween WORLD TOUR please......
I wouldn't doubt this for sure. Helloween having Kiske, Hansen and Deris together has been awesome 😎
@@josebatres894 offcourse it is...... imagine Maiden invited DiAnno to perform those early classics...... technically Bruce can pull off those songs, but it's not the same like the original punk-y DiAnno vocals that fits those songs......
@@itkojecockot won't happen as Dianno is having health issues and is retiring plus his vocals are not brilliant now
@@itkojecockot Have you seen DiAnno recently? Have you seen how he appeared ten years ago for instance? The guy is a wreck and he has no talent left.
I saw Motörhead and Dio open for Iron Maiden in ‘02. I’m still tripping 😳
saw that in 2003 at Madison Square Garden... time flies!
Saw that one too! Great tour! I was there for Dio for sure! That was, I think, the Molson Amphitheatre. My buddies who were also there, were really drunk and had to relieve themselves so bad, they couldn't wait for the lineup at the men's bathroom. So they pee'd against the fence. Security caught them and said you either drop and give them a bunch of pushups, or they were out! So they did the pushups and got to stay! Also, another buddy had box seats, which he gave us two tickets to so we had beer delivered to us and more elbow room than you would ever need!
Saw them together in 1982. Fantastic show!
Maiden would have to be the headliners this time around.
They would most likely co-headline
music to my ears!!! i was 11 when the original Priest/Maiden show happened!!!
God, understanding Steve is like max level English test for me.
🤣
Lol,even the subtitles on this vid don't get it right half the time.
haha, yes :-) And other band members with an exception of Bruce speak the same :-)
@@talaniel Exactly. Nico is almost as hard as Steve. Bruce is the only one I can understand always.
You ever heard Ozzy talk?
Solar Angels....incredible song.
I would like to see Halford singing a few stuffs by Maiden and Bruce singing Priest. It would be cool, although this is not the matter
that would be interesting
INVADERS
Both have become Old Waves 🌊 Of British 🇬🇧 Heavy Metal
Im ready for this.
would definitely see that show
Solar Angels is an amazing track and people should really check out point of entry.
My favorite album
It sure is. Also really like Desert Plains.
It's a fine album but my favorite, I feel like the 2 album that followed Point of entry, Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the faith were million times better.
well...in Dortmund 1983 were playing togather: Judas priest + iron maiden + scorpions + ozzy osbourne + michael schenker.....etc etc....
Time to retire has come... Don't be a shadow of what you've been...Respect.👏👏👏
Judas Priest in 1981 during the Point of Entry tour was my first concert at the Fresno Selland Arena. Except Iron Maiden didn't open up for them. I always wanted to know why. I was fortunate enough to get Bruce Dickinson autograph during the World Piece Tour or British Metal Onslaught with Saxon and Fastway back in "83". I also got Rob Halfords autograph during the Defenders of the Faith Tour with Great White. Those were the best concerts that I had seen during the early "80's". Unleashed in the east was my favorite Judas Priest album.
"Troubleshooter" off Point of Entry should be Priests signature song. It's a song that has the appeal to masses.
This would be an awesome show ! Two Legends ! 🤘
Oddly enough, last time I saw either band live was in the same festival.
I seen maiden and priest on their American tour back in the early 80s
I saw Iron Maiden a few times with Paul Di Anno singing, once in 1980 at Newcsatle City Hall support act to Judas Priest on the British Steel tour. I really liked Maiden's first album, still do. At the time though Priest were on another level.
Holy crap! I’ll buy my tickets now.
Simply the Boss 🤘😎🤘
Up the Irons...
They both were at their peak when they touring together.
Caught th eshow the Trunk is talking about at McFarland Auditorium, Dallas TX! Fricken AWESOME rockin' night - so, yeah, comeon guys, get it togther and DO IT!!!
I was at that 1st tour of Point of Entry and Killers at the TOWER Theater (Philly) IST row orchestra - they were sweating all over us in their leather jackets- ruined me! :)
"I don't know, I suppose the managers got to get their heads together and have something like that" sounds to me here like a gentle, smooth way to say "Never gonna happen".
1980 Deeside leisure centre Judas Priest with Iron Maiden supporting. Chilled gig.
maiden, priest and last but not least:saxon not to forget.
They should do it as a festival, get Saxon on the bill and invite some of the smaller bands to reform for a one off show.
I think both Priest and Maiden did play Wacken A.O.R. before. Rock in Rio, too. It would be quite cool to see the bands tour together again!
Where to watch it complete?
First time I saw Iron Maiden the opening bands were Queensryche and Halford. Awesome concert in The Woodlands September 2000.
Bow to the Mighty Priest!
Do it ! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Class act
Who doesn’t like point of entry I enjoy that more than British steel!!!! Heading out on the highway. Hot rockin awesome video. Solar angels is amazing. Desert plains. On the run jeeeeeze. Wtf guys Stained class is my favourite
Steve has got one of the most distinctive English accents (it's an East London accent) of anyone who was ever born and raised in England. My own accent is somewhere between a London and a Midland's accent.
Him and Dave are the more reserved members of Iron Maiden but they reportedly have a lot of wisdom and will get to the point when they have something to say, bringing forth that wisdom.
It will be Iron Maiden with special guest Judas Priest. As co-headlines? Don't see it happening, Maiden can fill up stadiums on their own and that's been the case since. Having said that I wouldn't miss it for the world if that happens.
It would be a young unknown band opening, then Priest, then Maiden. I guess that's what they mean by "co headline"
@@smokesletsgo2374 Co-headline means they will play the same amount of time(ex.100 minutes). But Priest would go first, then Maiden.
I saw maiden at the age of 13 in hamburg 1981. paul di anno is since then my favorite singer . support was paul mario day with more. Awesome
Please make it happen
That would be fucking 🔥to see these giants play together.
That would be fucking awesome!
I saw the point of entry tour with Iron Maiden and Humble Pie
I had a dream once that I was sat on the toilet having a piss, and when I looked down, a tiny Viggo Mortensen head popped out of my muff, swivelled to face me and exclaimed "HELLO!!" in a very cheery voice :/
That number of the beast tour was the last tour for drummer Clive burr before he left and was replaced with nicko mcbrain and their piece of mind album came out
There should be Maiden, Priest, Sabbath Tour to celebrate British heavy metal before they all retire for good.
Maiden and Priest, yes, but I don’t think sabbath will. As much as I would love them to, Ozzy hasn’t been doing so well in terms of health.
Black Sabbath has already performed the last tour with The End album.
if dio wasnt dead that could happen
but because of Bruce running his mouth and Sharon reacting like a child that can never be.
Maybe a Big Four Tour? Iron Maiden + Judas Priest + Saxon + Diamond Head
I would have put "IRON MAIDEN + JUDAS PRIEST + MOTORHEAD + BLACK SABBATH" but, A heavy metal G3 would be cool too "Iron Maiden + Judas Priest + Motorhead"
@@adamhendrickson512 Do you plan to resurrect Lemmy ? Both Black Sabbath and Motorhead were disbanded whereas the bands I have mentioned are still going on strong.
@@adamhendrickson512 In 2008, Judas Priest did a tour with Heaven & Hell (Dio era Black Sabbath) and Motorhead, with Testament opening.
The GOAT
"management will 'ave to get their 'eads together" mmmm, I really think of the band or Stephen wanted it then it would happen, pretty easily. (unless there are issues between JP management and I.M ? )
Desert Plains is excellent.
First time i saw Maiden, they opened for Scorpions in Corpus Christi TX 81ish?
Up the Priests!
Iron maiden will always be on top of Judas priest, It's reality and accept it.
@@Fenriz72 This is only your opinion, accept it.
@@Fenriz72 As a hardcore Maiden fan, stfu
Judas Priest might be little better, but Maiden still got the chops.
@@Fenriz72 no need to be a pretentious asshole douchebag
A piece of Iron Maiden + a piece of Judas Priest = The One You Love To Hate.
that song would have to be played
The metal heavon tour. Or Heavon Metal tour. Vote now.
That would be very nice.
That would be a great Concert
Seen them both
Plenty times. But together. Luckily just saw Priest at Bloodstock. Richie Faulkner. Never mind Concerts. Just get better mate. You're young. Good luck and health.
well, it's fine because uuhh, I saw that myself and also "paun++++" something today, said,uh and they all said something about it. +++++ live
I don't know I suppose the management is got to get the rest to get ready for something like that really but yeaa why not
well to some degree, I mean I suppose the bands can you know, push for it to happen, but uhm yea I mean we'll see.
Ohhh So many memories and I really love that album point of entry uh mm some people don't think it's their favorite priest album but I suppose cuz we was on tour I really liked it.
That's what I got, anybody can help figure out whatever I got wrong or didn't get at all. Thanks
They should do a tour a switch off who headliner every other night
I didn't understand what he said..is it possible for them to go on a tour together?
Solar Angels is amazing!
My fav from this album and one of the TOP 20 songs by any metal band
What we need is the 🇬🇧🇬🇧British Empire Tour🇬🇧🇬🇧 going across US, Europe, South America, Oceania, Asia
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
Saxon
Diamond Head
If anyone gives me a check I'll write any number on it and I'll pay it for a ticket
Be really cool to see both bands compliment each other by having them sing their favorite Maiden songs and then have the mighty Maiden belt out the Priest favorites, to close the show "living after midnight-Maiden & Priest both onstage to give the fans the best show on earth!! and you gotta have Bruce come out on the Harley at least once! and then have Eddie come out adorned in the leather-clad duds that Rob is famous for, call the tour "Heavy Metal Heaven" The Priest & The Beast on the Road again!!
When a master shows support to his peers
2 of the 4 on the MountRushmore of Metal
Give me a check and write whatever numbers and get me a ticket to Iron Maiden and Judas Priest and I'll pay it
This time, Priest opens for Maiden.
Haha... That would be a bit much, mate...
@@adamhendrickson512 it doesn't really matter that Priest was big influence on Maiden...... the headlining band is always the one that attracts more crowd, which at this point is obviously Maiden...... but I'm sure the promoters from Maiden camp would have enough respect to bill Priest as "special guest"
I'll pay any penny for this tour to happen across the world I'll even happily attend couple of london dates and european dates
It's reality, maiden headliner
My first concert 1984 🤘. Steve is difficult to understand for me. He swallows many words 😏
I saw that tour I think in 82. Bring back Paul for one more tour tour
Jae Crowther oh Lord no. Paul is a total ass that doesn’t give a shit about his fans and his voice is wrecked.
just add Black Sabbath into it and boom you have holy trinity of british heavy metal on same stage
best bass player ever
The would be a awesome great show Iron Maiden and Judas Priest I have seen them both many of time just not in the same show my two favorites
Put Saxon on and WoW a time of heavy metal and awesome shows
Priest + Maiden + Manowar (opening)
Eddie Trunk rocks.
