It is called the placebo effect, and the only thing that can change the temperature of something is a change of temperature... And if it was true, relieving ying energy would eventually produce an inequality, too much yang is also bad

Heck, even normal massage can go a long way. The increased circulation, the rhythmic tapping, its relaxing and helpful for muscle soreness.
Not to mention the stretching and exercise that preceded the massage. I don't know how rigorous and tailored the stretching was, but 10 or 20 minutes of high quality physical therapy style exercise and stretching can make a massive difference for minor pain. No chi required.

Especially people who are obese have hypertension and it causes fluid to store there, so increasing circulation reduces swelling and growth in those areas making the bloating go down

Course idk what you are specifically referring to. Massage in general or the knife thing? The knife one I have doubts on. Massage though is proven to be very effective for people. Anyone really. There are many techniques that are effective. For instance lymphatic drainage. Or myofascial release. Its all very fascinating stuff. Look up 'The World Under Your Skin' to learn a bit about fascia. In short, its a layer right under the skin, that when heated, from hands for instance, sort of melts.
So please, go and learn more about massage therapy and then come back and tell me it isn't effective. Or better yet, go and get one. Some can be costly but typically they can be $60

It saddens me how so many people in the comments don’t respect the culture and beliefs of these people. Just because you don’t believe in it doesn’t mean it is wrong. Some people don’t believe in God. Is it now bad to believe in God? No. Let people live and mind your own business.

No, people in comments have in issue with scamming people in places like this by telling them that what they do is definitely true. AS people pointed out what this woman is doing is called cold reading + The massage most likely doesn't work, It's just placebo effect. Gently tapping your body with blund metal won't do anything-

Anriru But if it helps people and they feel better believing in it why don’t let them? Just because you don’t believe in it doesn’t mean everybody isn’t allowed to believe in it

It's fine if you believe it knowing its nothing science related and that i shouldn't actually work. But when people present stuff like that as "completely true" or even "scientific' people get annoyed because that's straightup lying to people that don't know better and milking them for money.

The massage must be super relaxing but the amount of bullshits that were said in that video is astonishing.

Alot of the stuff they talked about is leaning to superstition (their explanation is VeRy shady) but the knife massage seems to have done something even if it's just mentally. just. don't demean asian people... that's kinda crappy of you

To be fair the amount of “conspiracy” theory’s Americans believe is astonishing as well. Every culture has their weaknesses
