  • I'm finally able to get into the real teardown and begin the restoration of my FZR1000. Can you see where the R1 came from? I can!
Check out Tom's Workshop (@tomsworkshopprojects) and Chris Sofos (@chrissofos) for more great FZR content. Chris tears down these old bikes and rebuilds engines from old GSXRs to the FZRs of many different flavours. Tom has finished restoring his FZR EXUP and is now working on a Kawasaki ZX7R. Rock on guys!!
For this old fart, removing the engine is next up on the hit list. It's making good power but it blows out blue smoke on startup so I know she's gonna be needing some top-end work.

Oh man!!! Thanks so much for the credit! I had no idea!!! I saw your comment on my video and then I checked your channel! Amazing work you're doing on this beast! Looking forward for the next video!

Thanks Chris!! The plan is to make it back to original like I did with the Virago. Your engine videos are incredible. Way over my pay-grade, that's for sure. I can do top end work like head & valve work, valve adjustment and piston rings, but I haven't tackled any bottom end work yet. I'm thinking I'll get a single cylinder enduro/dual sport that needs an engine overhaul to really dig into it and build my confidence. Thanks again for all the work you put in to your channel - it's been a real inspiration to me and many others.

When I saw the power drill in your hand, that’s when I knew you meant business :)
I gotta fix my virago, when I find a moment…

Hahaha!! Yeah, no telling how much damage I can do with power tools.

    Hello Kensworld,
Despite all the work required, there was good progress in the dismantling stages.
It is curious to observe the enormous number of parts that are hidden behind these fairings and chassis, each one meticulously positioned and with an important function for the perfect functioning of the machine as a whole.
    Very good.
Waiting for the engine to be removed.
    Thanks for sharing.
