The timing was always off. When they were 19 and in college, niki was focused on their careers and goals, but Gabi was focused on her social life and partying. Now, they are 25 and Gabi is focusing on their career but Niki is trying to live the life she feels she missed out on when she was younger.

When they were sitting on the couch together and Niki was explaining how Gabi was going out with people who didn’t like her it literally made me tear up. I can’t imagine how painful it’d be to be sitting home with you mum while your twin is out with people who don’t like you
the whole college friends situation is so messed up, i could never hang out with people who hurt my sister like that. even if i “gravitated towards them” or whatever. if i knew they hurt her, i would never take their side.
I understand that you’re friends with people who do things you also enjoy and love. And for Gabi that was partying and the party crowds. But if anyone ever told me that they didn’t like my sister / actively spoke poorly of her. I couldn’t be around that. My family comes first. At the end of the day. Siblings are forever. an apology isn’t “I’m sorry that you felt that way and you’re holding it against me now” an apology is “I am sorry for being insensitive and made you feel betrayed. I should’ve communicated with you about how you were feeling especially since you were JUST KICKED OUT OF THE DORM. Again, I apologize for being insensitive to you”. that’s how you apologize, not an apology on their behalf but your own.
Dude my brother used to be the biggest Jerk face, he's come a long way thank god and we are actually close now. But i never would hang out with people who disliked him or talked smack about him, even if i agreed with what they didn't like about him lol. Because he's family. But i guess not everyone feels that same way about there siblings.

Same I know that feeling from an ex best friend I had in high school that would date my exes after me even though I still had feelings and/or was still hurt by them. (Never mind the breach of girl code 😒) and then in college a year ago me and my boyfriend had a mutual friend but then me and her fell out really badly because she was too needy and would complain about me to my boyfriend even after a couple warnings that it hurt and that wasn’t cool at all. but he stayed friends with her for good while still even though she would actively talk shit on me. The issue with their relationship is that they do not know how to communicate effectively with each other. Communication is the most important factor in any kind of relationship. Neither of them are better or worse then the other, it’s just that they’re different and have struggled to communicate
Here’s a tip everyone can do: Try to not use “you” statements when apologizing, “ I’m sorry YOU feel like this” “I’m sorry YOU were offended” Instead try “I” statements, “When I said/did [hurtful thing], I wasn’t thinking. I realize I hurt your feelings, and I’m sorry,” This acknowledges that you know what it was you said/did that hurt the other person, and you take responsibility for it.

I'm not a therapist or nothing. But I do believe it is a bit different for twins sometimes only bc whey they grow up they are trying to find themselves and who they truly are. Because they have been considered 1 for so long. Not to mention if Gabi knows her own twin resented her. Why wouldn't she want to at least try to live her best life?

This is so true. I lost my sister and i never even got the chance to meet her and spend time with her. So seeing sister fight like this not knowing you could easily lose someone, it's hard to watch.
The real problem here is Gabi. She’s essentially saying she hasn’t done anything wrong and that if Niki is upset that’s Nikis problem. But then she turns around and says Niki has to be understanding of her feelings... it’s a two way street. They both have issues but Niki is the only one having to acknowledge them.

i feel like gabi expects niki to be the loving supportive sister towards her but gabi never really gives any love back in return. a relationship has to be mutual and there has to be a pouring of energy from both sides, but gabi isnt really putting the energy into the relationship leading to niki feeling depleted and resentful.
After watching niki and gabi take Bahamas I completely disagree. Gabi was the only one trying to show love and even set that date up for niki. And in return niki just bitched at her the entire trip.

I feel like Gabi is living her life as teenager and then a young woman having fun, relationships etc, while Nikki has been the Mom, the manager, the responsible one and now she would like to live her life and have fun too. But Nikki doesn't know how to get it without distancing herself from Gabi, because Gabi is used to Nikki just always doing the responsible thing. I'm identical so I can relatie a little to Niki. Like she was always seen as the more beautiful twin growing up and then she had to become a medical doctor and do a PhD 😅 that kind of fucked with my mind growing up, as I felt like there was already a better version of me walking the earth.
With any two people whether they're related or not one of them is always going to come off as the more dominant one. That's literally an unavoidable part of being humans with an infinite number of individual characteristics. What people do with those perceptions is what is important.

Eh, I disagree. I mean, I agree that it's a toxic situation but it's not just because of Gabi. Gabi seems more confident now while Niki is less, and because Niki compares herself to Gabi (as in, she has done so throughout multiple videos) naturally it would make Gabi feel bad/awkward. At the same time, responding by putting yourself down doesn't _actually_ bring the other person up. It's a kneejerk reaction that isn't beneficial to either party At the end of the day, the reason why everything is poor between them seems to be lack of conducive communication. They may never be super close because of everything they've been through and the fact that they're so incredibly different, but they shouldn't have a relationship that is so broken in the first place because they are different. It's like they just keep hurting each other and it's difficult to stop a cycle like this if you never get to the root of the issue. I feel bad for both of them.

Niki comes with good reasons behind the stuff she’s saying, and sees the issues from different perspectives. Gabi takes on the victim role and tears down Niki, which is not fair. Gabi does not see things from Niki’s perspective, like saying her videos does terrible in LA. That’s not a way to treat ANY person. And Gabi does not realize that Niki wants to put herself first, and grow as a person.

I hate how Gabi is describing Niki.... i'm a younger sister as well - my sister is the "athletic one", the "one with straight a's" and overall the 'better sister'. i try so hard not to let it affect me bc i hate comparing my self & also don't like being compared. we're our own individuals!! my sister and i were also never really affectionate. partly because we just don't get along, and partly bc i'm autistic and for me hugging anyone / being touched in general is uncomfortable to me.

Exactly, sisters never truly get along completely. Its normal sisters fight fall out say nasty things and find each other again in many cases. But at the end of the day a family bond especially between sisters is very hard to break.

Being a twin, same age as you girls, and going through almost the same thing (only difference is we have separate jobs) it’s almost comforting knowing that we aren’t the only ones going through this. You know you love your twin so much, but there are so many deep emotional things that get in way. And we struggle so much with communication as well. If we try telling each other how we feel, it ends up being a screaming match. I truly feel I learned so much watching this and Gabbie did an amazing job listening, understanding, and helping! It's not that one way of living is better, both ways are valid. Now it's about balance, and being anchored in themselves first. I'm identical so I can relatie a little to Niki. Like she was always seen as the more beautiful twin growing up and then she had to become a medical doctor and do a PhD 😅 that kind of fucked with my mind growing up, as I felt like there was already a better version of me walking the earth.
But I decided to follow a different career path and make my own friends and find my own hobbies, that really did help
With any two people whether they're related or not one of them is always going to come off as the more dominant one. That's literally an unavoidable part of being humans with an infinite number of individual characteristics. What people do with those perceptions is what is important.

Eh, I disagree. I mean, I agree that it's a toxic situation but it's not just because of Gabi. Gabi seems more confident now while Niki is less, and because Niki compares herself to Gabi (as in, she has done so throughout multiple videos) naturally it would make Gabi feel bad/awkward. At the same time, responding by putting yourself down doesn't _actually_ bring the other person up. It's a kneejerk reaction that isn't beneficial to either party
At the end of the day, the reason why everything is poor between them seems to be lack of conducive communication. They may never be super close because of everything they've been through and the fact that they're so incredibly different, but they shouldn't have a relationship that is so broken in the first place because they are different. It's like they just keep hurting each other and it's difficult to stop a cycle like this if you never get to the root of the issue.

Niki comes with good reasons behind the stuff she’s saying, and sees the issues from different perspectives. Gabi takes on the victim role and tears down Niki, which is not fair. Gabi does not see things from Niki’s perspective, like saying her videos does terrible in LA. That’s not a way to treat ANY person. Being a twin, same age as you girls, and going through almost the same thing (only difference is we have separate jobs) it’s almost comforting knowing that we aren’t the only ones going through this. You know you love your twin so much, but there are so many deep emotional things that get in way. And we struggle so much with communication as well. If we try telling each other how we feel, it ends up being a screaming match. I truly feel I learned so much watching this and Gabbie did an amazing job listening, understanding, and helping! Love this video so much ❤️
