    Finally, someone speaking in the real time about super positive stuff concerning Madonna. This world would be a very dark place without Madonna. I love that when the girls say "thank God she's still making music in this world today".

      The entire tour is sold out, except in the US. However, even in the US it sells out by the night of the performance due to reduced ticket pricing the day of. Even the reduced prices are pricey -- just not outrageous.

      @@s.tupper4159 most of the US dates were sold our prior to her hospitalisation, but when the tour was rescheduled some dates lost a lot of sales. I think many are waiting until the day off. Last min tickets to the MSG shows were still going for $300, and the seats were terrible.

    Madonna is my hero. Growing up a gay boy, being bullied, being abandoned by family, relatives, being casted away, Her music, her work, her image, her videos, her creativity and her message saved me from hurting myself... She thought me to be brave, be bold and to be myself no matter what. I have nothing but gratitude for Madonna, Niki and Donna, all the many talented dancers and everyone else that helped her along the way. She is my hero!

    6:02 👏🔝Niki was absolute brilliant in quick slap back the best answer to this kind of stupid question and that is knocks him twice. Could not be better answer this type of "question". Nick and Donna show love and appreciation to life and be kind with others. I notice sense Madonna start the American leg Celebration tour all kind of negative nasty video and "rumours" pop up, complete opposite of what she had here in UK and Europe

    • @lutalice
      @lutalice 8 місяців тому +3

      Yeah, bro needs to trust that people WANT to hear about the work. The clickbaity title is a copout. Or maybe that's what he wants to talk about and provide to listeners, I wouldn't know. But it would be a shame if he wanted to go deeper on the comments about the work itself, but didn't out of fear that it wouldn't get the views; it's not a "Madonna-only" podcast, at the end of the day, so that might be off-brand. But my suspicion is, the vast, vast number of people tuning into a Niki/Donna interview would *devour* hours of content that focused on the process (studio, stage, etc).

    I appreciate their loyalty and staunch advocacy for Madonna's talent and work ethic but I can't help but think that the ironclad NDA's they signed play a huge role in their wholly positive rendering of their experience. They weren't around the last 20 years of M's career when a major shift occurred. Madonna's public persona was always that of an extreme health freak and drinking and drugs were completely taboo when it came to her image. I can't help but speculate that based on the multiple surgeries and the behavior exhibited on social media that it is entirely possible for a drug issue to have come into play. An overdose would have been entirely consistent with all of the factors that seemed obvious and maybe not so obvious. I'm not so sure Nikki or Donna are in a position to know the Madonna we see today and the fact that they are literally outsiders today with no real relationship with her despite decades of collaboration is strange but consistent with Madonna's reputation as it relates to former professional relationships. Madonna has gone to extreme lengths to affect her appearance with a strangely desperate persona to compliment it. I wonder of they even recognize her now. Nevertheless, the positive spin is admirable and the podcast was an insightful watch.

      They continue to profit from their time with her and their violations of the nda prove that Madonna isn’t interested in bringing the hammer down. I think she should …given Niki’s schizophrenic commentary over the years. It’s not important if they recognize her. Madonna hasn’t bothered to recognize them and with good reason. I would’ve made the bitc$3$ pay for their tickets.

I'd avoid talking about Madonna more than 10% though situations might always steer them to do so. We should enjoy focusing on the recent work of the talented ✨ twins. In both cases, fans of N&D or fans of M alone would chime in anyway.

    I have to disagree that it should be verboten to discuss anything "negative." If a Madonna tour is having slow ticket sales, given her past success, that is a legitimate news story/topic of discussion, without question. If one chooses to go a step further and make that news an excuse to fling insults and snark, then it's a problem. However, it's not hard to recognize when that line is crossed and tune out the BS.

    These chicks are sweet, and I remember them fondly. But they're also too funny -- obviously back on the woman's payroll, this time with the social media-PR, clout-chasing contingent. Wait! That just had a superhero vibe to it. Better call MCU. But, yeah, all damage control, never critical, always promoting the brand, and doing singing dates to promote the back catalog. I guess. People gotta keep the lights on, somehow.

    Even as a fan for almost 40 years I thought that the hospitalization was a marketing lie. Too many things that don't add up... no photo of her leaving the hospital in a city like New York? Rocco photographed under the house he smiles. And then I tried intensive care and it leaves you almost disabled for months, and I even asked a doctor I know, and he confirmed to me that a person who leaves intensive care two months later cannot face a tour of almost 80 dates, it's impossible he said!! In Milan during a break in the show a fan (while Madonna was talking about hospitalization) shouted at her "you're a liar!!!"

      A marketing lie? That just lacks critical thinking. All because you didn’t see a photo? Rescheduling an entire tour is NEVER financially smart, there are penalties and it’s a logistical nightmare. It’s horrible PR, particularly from someone already battling ageism. She still gets emotional discussing it. Is she suddenly an amazing actress? When she did resurface, she clearly lost a ton of weight. I could go on and on but let’s just focus on the fact that paparazzi didn’t catch a photo.

    But we need to be honest too. Madonna isn't the vocalist or performer she was in her prime. That's a fact. And there is nothing wrong with saying that. I appreciate that at 65 she thinks she can put on the sane kind of show she did 30 years ago. I would have preferred her design the show around her vocals and music, and not so much on the spectacle and glitz. Do it in smaller venues too. But it seems she feels the need to compete with the Swifts, Beyonces, and Perrys of the current music world. She doesn't. She shouldn't feel she needs to prove anything to anyone, including herself.
    My fear is that she's more like Elvis was in his later years, a parody of themselves. Suffering from a Peter Pan syndrome of never wanting to grow up or grow old.
