My first Madonna concert. November 20th, 2008. Philadelphia, PA. Wachovia Spectrum. I'll never forget it. After a decade since becoming a massive fan, to hear her play Ray of Light in person was unreal. I was jumping so hard and screaming the lyrics so loud that my heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest!
I know the feeling, I went to my first concert here in Canada for her Celebration tour, the same feeling, couldn't believe I was hearing her sing these songs that I have loved for years live! What an experience!!
Thank you for posting this! IMO, this is not only Madonna's best tour but the best tour in modern history. Every word, every beat was choreographed to perfection, the costumes were gorgeous, the arrangements were timeless and Madonna was truly at the top of her game. It will not get any better than this incredible show.
With my first earned money as an artist I bought a concert ticket for the Drowned World Tour and I still remember the show and the 2nd concert I joined too. Madonna is always an outstanding experience, we will never ever have such an artist again.
I saw the S & S in 08 at Wembley stadium and S & S number 2 at the MEN Arena in Manchester. She was absolutely on fire that night in Manchester. I have never seen her perform like she did that night. She interacted with the audience so much. I remember during La Isla that she got people near the catwalk and got them to talk their T Shirts and she collected them and took them backstage...There were people outside after the show topless! Haha 😂😂 There are other tours she as done that the show is bigger and more impressive but this tour felt more like a traditional pop show with us all jumping, singing and dancing along with the dancers and her. I remember the Manchester show took place on M.J.'s funeral. I truly believe that because everyone had lost Michael that everyone in the arenas just realised what it would be like if we lost her so everyone just cheered and sang sooo much louder. It was a special night that I'll never forget because I was dead centre of the end of the runway a few rows back and I was clapping along to Human Nature and she looked me right in the eye and gave me such a beautiful warm smile. 🎉🎉❤❤
I've never been a Madonna fan but I have so much more respect for this woman, for the time, the energy, and the love, that she put into her career... today I have now just become a fan. And thank you Madonna for being you and teaching others to be themselves. 🫂❤️🎶😊
At 5:47 who is the cute dark-haired guy next to Madonna? One of her dance leaders helping with the auditions? 🥰 Also, I feel like Madonna came off quite chill & relatable in this little documentary, compared to other times where even I, as a fan, have noticed her stuffiness. Diva attitudes are undeniable when they’re in full effect. No matter if you’re a fan of an artist or not. Usually those were interviews from way back in the day, though, such as 1993 or ‘94 with Ruby Wax in Paris… when Madonna was annoyingly obsessing over the camera angles making her look bad. Ruby was over it, saying she’s never “chill”. 😆 I think she’s more chill the older she gets, or so it seems. In this mini-documentary, M seems very close with everyone involved in the production, the band, dancers & crew… at the end of the first show, her dancers were ecstatic leaving the stage, with Madonna following them saying “it was incredible!” 😊 This documentary felt a bit like _Truth or Dare_ to me, maybe just because of the B&W footage, albeit without the scandalous game-playing, gay makeout sessions & wine bottle-sucking. And the hilarious 'Like A Virgin' masturbation scene. 🤣 But of course those are the highlights of TOD!
I saw this tour 13 times. Each time was special and unique. The night Obama was elected was magic cause give us hope. Justin and Britney at the same night in LA. But the contest and message of this show was real and great. I hope we pay attention more to this amazing artist.
She says that performers are equal but I bet she’d be pissed if any of them compared themselves to her 😂 or said they were as good, because thats not true. Nice thought, but in reality, not always true, some are better than others due to experience etc. Just the way it is.
Yeah, I agree. I don’t know if I’d say PERFORMERS are all equal… like you said, based on experience and skill levels, there are too many factors. I’d say maybe all ARTISTIC or creative individuals are similar, but never equal. Or two creatives who are vibrating on similar wavelengths are more equal than different… but even then, everyone’s not the same. The longer I live, the less I believe in any kind of comparisons. lol. And that goes for asking for advice, giving advice, etc. At the end of the day, they are merely that-observations. Comparisons. Stating the obvious differences and potential similarities between two people or things.
May be with the era S&S tour peak of her career was finished . Further were tries to play with the youth and taste of millenials but as a artist unfortunatelly she started to fade away
