One thing I've found to sort of remedy the M3X's long start-up time is disabling both the Sleep and Idle Poweroff (by setting the sliders all the way down to 0), and only using the Sleep function under the Display options. Doing it this way is pretty much treating it like a phone that's kept on for an extended period of time of course, but the battery actually holds up when not in use.
Yes, you can disable the idle power off, if you don't using but let it turned on on 100 at night, it has 98 when you wake up... Pretty nice battery life
I love my shanling m3x a lot as well, but if you're talking about power, l don't think it's up there. I was hoping it will match my ifi hip dac that's rated at 400 mw @16oh but the hip dac is still more powerful. M3x struggles to get dynamics out of a 16oh earphones nevermind higher impedence ones. Apart from that, this little player is a piece of art, well built, solid hand feel and beautiful. I am actually happy with the software, never had a crash, more fluid than anything from astell and kern yet cost a lot less. Cheers!
im looking for something with long battery life i dont care about the size even it was big because of the battery like during an emergency purpose to watch movies and music from the sd card don't care if it has wifi or android. - if i could make one I'd make it 7 inches thick for the battery with a slight lean, on the sceen size 10" and an sd card slot that could read one up to 1tb. i would even make it with an attachment for solar power that would be made specifically for the unit that way you can watch it while being powered. it'd make so the battery when fully charged would basically be able to play 20hrs if a cell phone can run at least two movies I'd make it so this unit can play 10 movies that are at least 2hrs long. I'd also have a mounting bracket for it then just drill a hole in the wall and attach the solar panel on the opposite side. just a dream i quess. I've even drawn plans on how it would look.

Sometimes I am not satisfied with the quality but I'm thinking if it is because I just stream Spotify in Q1 by using it as a bluetooth receiver for my phone. Will the quality improve if Ill use Spotify through wifi directly from M3X? Or most likely the same since both are from Spotify? So basically, is the quality affected by using the DAP as a bluetooth receiver and not directly as a source of Spotify sound? Thank you.

Do you think it can drive S12 or P1max or Kato to theirs fullest potential? Other daps offer much more power … I have this Dap, should I try to update with that purpose?

Yeah the $60 hike is all branding and for the fact that it's a collector piece. But honestly I think it's still a good buy. Of course if people don't care about the waifu, the original is completely fine. Thank you for commenting! :)
If your unit have limited number from 1 to 1000 then you have the China version. If you have one from 1001 to 1500 then you have the international variant. Don't think there's any difference other than the / 1000 and / 1500
Hi Timmy, Shanling UP5 has same chip as your DAP, don't you curious how its performance since UP5 is way more cheaper and more convenient for any devices? Please Timmy, if you read this please please please do a review about Shanling UP5 DAC because in this world you are the only human being that really true and honest in reviewing hahaha come on bro..
Have you compared it with the standard M3X? Wondering if it's just the marketing purposes or they make some adjustments tunning for moondrop and tanchjim

Hi mate, l found a way to stop m3x from turning off when you pause it. Go to settings, select general,under general there is a schedule power off, set it back to off instead of 25 or 50mins...l think it stops it from turning off when no music is playing. Hope it helps. Cheers.

Hi :) is there any sonic difference between the normal and limited m3x?
My biggest complaint for this DAP is the rubber cover for the microSD slot, it opens by itself sometimes and takes a few tries to pop it back to place
Oh man, that has never happen to me personally. Your unit's rubber door might be defective. Sorry to hear that.

I've not tried the M9 but I love the M3X a lot. And from FiiO I recommend the M11 Plus :)

60 bucks for a different color and waifu on the back seems much, personally, I carry fiio k3 with me and have it velcroed to my phone.

lol! I would say enjoy the Variations man! It's a great set on just about any source. Get M3X if you don't have a DAP yet, this is a fantastic one.

I haven't compared but judging from those who did, it say that the limited edition is tuned slightly warmer than original M3X.
