I didn't know any of these people existed a week ago when I heard Josh Turner singing a song. Since then, I've spent an insane amount of time going back and forth from each of their channels on UA-cam hours at a time. It has been time well spent.
Exactly.... why hasn't more of the world heard of each of these VERY TALENTED musicians. Wow!!! I hope to see them in Niagara Falls or close by, one of these days.
Same here, as of June 12, 2020. 5 days ago I had never heard of these people and now I keep watching their videos. I actually applauded at home by myself at the end of this one! 😄 I see they've been touring the world too. It's amazing to see such talented young minds, always with a positive attitude and a smile, such a great taste in music... Inspiring. It makes me feel optimistic about mankind again, and that's a great achievement.
From the looks of their fingers, they recorded the music audio beforehand then did the video. But the point still stands…bluegrass should be as natural as humanly possible, for sure
I learned this song 50 years ago in Vietnam, from my good friend Mac. Still play the song ... Mac's not with us any more.... but I still smile and recall those times we played it ...every time I hear it. This one "Hannah Lee" and "Gonna Go Down The River" were songs we played often. Thank y'all for a grand memory....
And thank you, sir, (and Mac and all of your brothers) for your service. I'm thankful that you made it home and are able to enjoy good memories like this from what must have been a difficult time. God bless.
Ok, I'm old - I remember the Dillards playing this on The Andy Griffith Show. This rendetion is simply superb! Excellent vocals, love the banjo work. Thanks so much for the rekindling a treasured memory. Excellent!
I think I’ve watched this at least 100 times. I’m always amazed by all the talent, but Toni’s bluegrass picking makes my heart sing every time…. And yeah, I’m gonna watch it again.
Good Lord!! I just found Josh by accident, Sloop John B. Now I can't stop. Not only that, he seems to know the most talented musicians ever. Where have I been????
Haven't heard this song since I was about 8, and it was to the point where I was sure it was a memory I had made up. Brings me right back to my childhood in North Carolina.
Outstanding job by all. And that guitar solo, as the kids say was 🔥. Furthermore, I’d like to say it is refreshing to see younger people singing about the illegal production and distribution of moonshine.
Dave's Dumb Songs, Some particularly agreeable comments deserve a double-like. I have but one thumb to up on UA-cam, however I joyfully give you two in spirit.
I am a fan of bluegrass music and I feel really good about the future of bluegrass when it's the hands of young people like you. Bluegrass music has really deteriorated in past years because of no talent singers who think that all you have to do is to pick a banjo and other instruments, and sing like you're from Southern Appalachia, you're a bluegrass singer or band.
WOW, again! Y'all just keep sweetening up the airwaves. Josh tearing up the banjo, Reina working that Guild for all it's worth, Carson blending in the mandolin and Toni making the Martin sing, as only a Martin can [gotta be good to make it do so]. I am blown away with your quartet's abilities and talents. You are making UA-cam a happier place to visit. Thank you!
I don't know about anybody else, but I find Carson simply adorable. I love his facial expressions in particular. I usually find myself concentrating on him upon first watch, and then I have to watch the video other times to watch everyone else. But alas, I keep coming back to Carson every time.
Did it ever strike anybody else that this was the within the first few hours of knowing each other that they recorded this? They really played so well together from the very beginning.
Yes of *course* it was the first take. Sheesh. I'm sitting watching Josh, thinking "Wait - Scruggs-style banjo too?" Y'all just crushed it - thank you.
This was on the Andy Griffith show with the Darling family that pops into the show every so often. They were played by the Dillards. Love t his tune and the spirit behind it.
With all the guitar talent on display its easy to miss that Reina is in fact a more than competent guitarist herself if not in the Toni and Josh class.
Just stumbled upon y'all. All y'all orta come down here to Galax Va. High on the Blue Ridge of Southwest Virginia. Birthplace of bluegrass and ol' timey mountain music! Y'all would fit right in just aplayin on the street or in a store. Try comin to the Old Time Fiddlers convention. The worlds oldest and biggest there is. From amateur's to pros. Ya mite win some money. BTW, nice job.
I could watch Josh and Toni play all day. You are all great and together you are a force of nature... but watching those 2... they are such talented pickers.
I half-expected Ernest T. Bass to throw a rock through the window at the end of the song.
@@johnnyx9892 He's a nut!
I'm so happy that you posted your comment.
It’s me it’s me
LOL!! Ernest T was a NUT, according to Barney! Such good music with Andy and the "Darlins" & many others!! Also on Beverly HB with Flats & Scruggs
🤣🤣🤣
Josh, "Oh yeah, I play banjo too. It was really hard to learn. Took me all afternoon."

J Let I discovered them yesterday. I’ve spent hours enjoying these talented young people. Amazing.

Me too . They are great!!!
J Let ME TOO! They brought me out my covid/election blues! Love them so much!
This is how bluegrass is meant to be recorded. Everyone standing around the same microphone.
@@JesseCaine they are for the guitars
@@JesseCaine eye roll
Yup. And moving fore and aft so their instrument / voice can be heard.
From the looks of their fingers, they recorded the music audio beforehand then did the video. But the point still stands…bluegrass should be as natural as humanly possible, for sure
@@manifestgtrI don’t see any evidence of that and he says in the description it was the first take.
Oh Pa, that one makes me cry.
Just try to control yourself, lol, A 1 and a 2 and a way we go!
😂🤣😂🤣😂

Thank you for sharing your memory and thank you for your service.
This is the first take? The amount of talent in that room defies reason

All they are missing is a jug player. Hahaha
I’m in my 30s and I know that scene! “Ya got time to breathe, ya got time fer music” 😂

Toni - that guitar solo was so clean! Great job to all!
Josh: master of staring blankly at the ground while playing some seriously great stuff
Carson: master of mando faces
All: fantastic musicians
I am a simple man. I see Josh's video, I click like.
Still love this song in 2022. Y'all did such a great cover
Me, too! These guys are incredible!
Toni continues to amaze with her versatility and flat out talent.
Reina is 🔥🔥🔥💝💝💝
I dont know how to explain how much i enjoy the end part after the song when they all smile and laugh.
I think I’ve watched this at least 100 times. I’m always amazed by all the talent, but Toni’s bluegrass picking makes my heart sing every time….

This collaboration was just waiting to happen, and I'm so glad it did
The talent of these guys is out of this world.
All 4 of these kids are amazingly talented!😍👏👏👏
ABSOLUTELY !
Seriously gifted musicians.
I could have sworn that was the Dillards themselves! Great job guys!
These kids can play anything
the smiles at the end..... 👍

Lol you need to hit more bluegrass festivals, those it's harder these days to find bands that don't want to play all new material
When Reina & Toni came in with the soft backing harmonies at 1:35 it brought me to actual tears.
Freakin' incredible for a first take.

🤣
They are outstanding but I would like to give a special kneel and hats off to Toni. Her accompaniment on guitar is always breathtaking.
That was fun..
Was wonderin' what it was about. Thanks for the lesson of the day! :D
Any "Briscoe Darlin" fans out there? C'mon....think back....,..,(hint) Mayberry... Seriously, I love everything these guys perform!!
"The boys are talkative today."
Wonderfully talented…all of you! Great voices and musicians.
this Girl in that brown Jacket has a so warm and smooth voice.. love it:)
Woooooooo-wee. Boy, that was a miiiighty fine a-pickin' and a-singin'.

I just love you young folks. Thank you so much. You warm my heart.
Jesus, this is *magic*! How did I only find this now???
Extraordinary performance. Exceptional artistry.

How do you know that? Maybe they've already been rehearsing for a week...
@@Red80008 Read the header description. Pros can do this. They look like kids, but all four are long-time pros.
Who else first heard this tune watching Andy Griffith?
Andy Griffith had some great musical talent on that show, including a very young Clarence White and his brother Roland.
Indeed sir.
The Dillards! 👏🏻
Yep, the Darling family.
Yes sir
its the best version! when i want to show people this song i show em this one
You can't go wrong when you combine RDC and TOF!!!😊❤
Sounds like something from the Andy Griffith show enjoyed it very much😊
wow, i never thought i'd hear a cover of this song, much less one of this quality!
That walking bass on the guitar during the banjo lead was awesome. It’s always cool to see people sharing lead vocals, too. Great stuff 👍

136 people don't have musical taste. Wonderful video - magnificently played. Awesome.
Another home run. Everyone does amazing as always but the girl doing the lead lick on guitar was badass. The versatility on this channel is awesome.
Friends. Music. Joy.
This brought me right back to Mayberry!! Loved the smiles and the song! Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
