WoW! Eight days - seems short for 206km - I have friends who did the Drakensberg traverse in 15 days and they said it was tough as hell. But obviously amazing and well worth it. Good luck.
Whoop-whoop! She's back!!! Yay! One question, how did you attach the swayer filter to your bladder? Enjoy the trip!! I cannot wait for the next video... 😊
Thanks Stephanie! I bought the bladder and filter already attached as a Source product from Cape Union Mart. It is quite expensive, but in the end I think it was well worth it as there was very little flowing water on the top of the Berg.
This rain jacket is the First Ascent X-Trail Rain Jacket. I bought it for trail running, but it works so well and is so light that I now use it for hiking as well 😊
@@foggs It doesn't keep 100% of rain out if it is really bucketing down, but I use my rain jacket more as a wind protector and layer of warmth than as a 100% waterproof shell. So far I haven't found any rain jacket that keeps me 100% dry anyway 😅
Thanks Ruth - looking forward to the trip video! All the best.
Thanks! It didn't quite go as planned: video coming soon!

Yeah, it was a bit of a rollercoaster! Video coming soon 😉
Such great and well-thought-through advice!! Much appreciated!
You are so welcome!

Thanks Ruth! Excellent work!, how about a nice map of your hike route. Most of US don’t know where you went.

Thanks Tom! I will try to remember to include a map in the video I make about the trip 😊
What rain jacket do you use? It looks super compact
This rain jacket is the First Ascent X-Trail Rain Jacket. I bought it for trail running, but it works so well and is so light that I now use it for hiking as well 😊
@@RoughingItWithRuth i see it doesn't have a waterproof front zipper. Does that hold up in the rain?

What dry bags do you use( what brand )
Most of my dry bags are Sea to Summit bags, but I have used other brands in the past and they have worked fine as well.
Thanks
What headlamp do you use ?
In this video I am using the Black Diamond Spot, which I really love. I also sometimes use the Petzl Bindi headlamp.
Thanks
